We have had several cars repaired at Westside Auto Care. Over the years, they always offer top notch auto care, at fair prices. Prices are always less than dealerships. They are upfront in regards to pricing, and time needed for repairs. We have never had a repair bill higher than an estimate. Customer service is always on point. If someone is unsure of something they always find someone with the answer. Occasionally that means a return phone call. Though I prefer that to being given the wrong answer. Not the closest auto repair facility we could visit, but definitely worth the drive. read more

We've been coming to West Auto for about 4 years now. They have always been fantastic. Great service, and they always give me a heads up when I go in "hey, next oil change we may need to look at new rear brakes". Or "next time you come in, you may want to do xyz". I appreciate the heads up so I can prepare for the expenses. We drive from nky just ti have our cars serviced at West Side Auto. Highly recommend. They also typically have some really cool exotic cars they service as well, so there's some cool "eye candy" to look at when you drop off/pick up your vehicle. Brought my car in to get power steering fixed. I was charged $1300+ even after getting my price lowered a few hundred by asking them to find used parts. 2 weeks later I hear the screeching again and my wheel is getting tighter...so I bring it back because it is clearly not fixed. "They forgot to tighten something up" so I wait and they release it back to me. 2 more weeks go by and I go get an oil change where they tell me my power steering fluid is leaking. SOO I go back again and then they told me "they missed something" and I need a hose replaced and that would be $650 more. So I took my paperwork and went somewhere else after having to come back 3 times for same issue. Turns out it was a $50 fix, no hose issue. Wondering if the entire invoice they gave me originally was fabricated or if they actually fixed anything to begin with....but they sure got some good money and time out of me with their SCAM of a repair shop. Last Friday Westside Auto could have screwed me over, but didn't. It's not the first time. I love not being screwed over. And they've never screwed me over in 10 years of going to them. I drive clunkers. I drive older model American cars and thus have purchased the requisite problems that come with them. Last Friday I had just pulled off the Big Mac Bridge onto Liberty when my car idiot lights started screaming at me. I hadn't notice but the temp has pegged out and my dash looked like a Christmas tree. I pulled over into the Staples parking lot. I wasn't happy. It was the end of summer and several unexpected expenses has popped up and income had dropped down. Nothing to worry about but if my car could have puked one month earlier or one month later, I wouldn't have gotten so annoyed. I left the car and my wife came and got me and delivered me to my office. I called Westside and spoke with Aldo who knows my car. I asked about towing, etc. when he said. "Put some coolant in it." "Yeah, Aldo, but I was driving it all over town 12 hours before and it didn't get hot. I've sprung a leak somewhere." "Probably not. Try it." My wife picked me up after work, we stop at the car, $10 of coolant and she's running cool again with no screaming idiot lights. I went in for a free check and it seemed like Aldo went above and beyond while maintaining the upmost integrity. I pulled up to the lot, told him about my issues and he stopped his work to get me in for a check. The receptionist was very friendly and seems knowledgeable about cars too, which is amazing. He was able to answer the questions that I had and he even found a big oil leak that I wasn't completely aware of. I only went in expecting a quick scan of the car's computer so I could find any other issues besides my O2 sensors being bad and to get a seized spark plug looked at so that I could weigh my options and see which repairs needed to be addressed first. After the scan, he told me both of my O2 sensors were bad and even told me which one of my wheel speed sensors were bad. As someone who's new to working on cars, I feel like he didn't even have to tell me which wheel speed sensor was giving me an ABS light, as it's something that I can do myself. He could've just said "it was one of them" and left it at that, pressured me into getting it fixed right then and there or told me something else to get money from me. It's honesty like that, that goes a LONG way for me. All from a FREE check. I will be going to him for any DIY repairs I can't do myself and I will be sure to recommend him to anyone looking for a good and honest mechanic. read more

Small place, but they usually manage to get our car issues addressed promptly on short notice. Their prices are fair and the work is solid. The customer experience has always been good, staff is awesome. Great little place. We have taken our cars in for several brake jobs and other issues over the past few years. As the most recent example, we had to fix the old Toyota, and got an itemized list of what was wrong in order of what needed to be fixed now, what needed to be fixed shortly, and what needed to be done eventually. Well, I found them on the web and price seemed decent. I was looking for someone to detail our car. They were extremely nice and patience when I called and worked with me when I was over an 1 hour late to my appointment. My husband's car was horrible. Basically 4 years of bare minimum cleaning, plus had three kids to mix. Instead of the 3 hours, it ended up taking 8 hours to clean our mini van. The car look like we just got it off the lot. I could not believe how well the car looked. I recommend them to anyone looking for a good wash and detail. You will not be disappointmented. read more

I took my car here in March 2021 for a tie rod issue, they told me they didn't see any issues with my tie rod (which there was) but that there was a transmission sensor going bad that needed to be replaced. $200 down the drain because immediately following pick up my gear shifter was loose and not staying in gear and my car was jerking when turning corners, I told them about this ASAP and took it back in the NEXT WEEK and they recommended I get a transmission flush, another $200. Picked it up again a couple days later and the receptionist told me to let them know if I was still having issues. The same thing was happening and it got progressively worse. I contacted them a few weeks later and took it back in for a THIRD time to now be told I need a $4000 transmission?!? Keep in mind I'd NEVER had any transmission issues or issues with shifting prior to taking my vehicle here. If you want fair service and your car repaired properly, I'd highly recommend going elsewhere or getting a second opinion prior to getting anything serviced. All around tedious and inconvenient experience. read more

Without question, Tony and the crew at Westside Auto legitimately vie for top honors as the best independent garage in the state, if not the country. Really. We first came into contact with their location by chance, and was astounded when the automatic overdrive control malfunctioning on an old Cavalier wagon was solved by a simple snip of a wire at no cost. Having been taken by other repair concerns with charges far beyond the original estimates, this was a stellar introduction to the WSA way of doing business. Since then, I've had over a decade of loyal and expert service always performed promptly at a fair and reasonable price for a half dozen vehicles, and I've even driven hours from out-of-state to get the honest Tony touch. Once I understood the level of ethics and service at WSA, I even purchased two vehicles that had been repaired and sold by the firm. Even though they were older cars, they both performed flawlessly for years before being totaled by deer and drunks. My last major encounter was when I ruefully limped in an aging Aerostar van with a slipping second gear while I was unemployed, and Tony was able to get it to work with a simple $35 control adjustment, rather than a $2 thousand tranny open heart transplant. I just had a new radiator put in my latest van, and they were just 1 cent over the $300 estimate.
