Let's be honest. I am surprised my car was still running before I brought it in. I asked for a diagnostic check, which was around $100, and an oil change and new tires and a rotation. I spent a pretty penny, and they gave me a list of things that needed to be done and the prices. Their prices are listed on the website so I didn't feel blindsided by the process. After just a month since my car was serviced, the car keep sending me message that i need to have my tire rotated. I'm very mad at my dealer why they didn't rotate my tire a month ago, now i need to drive 40 mins to go there again? I refuse to do that, so i get on yelp and find Urb's garage just in Burlington, made the appointment first over phone, but when i go, they can't find my reservation so i made another appointment for today. Very pleased with the service I received on my vintage '96 Honda Accord. I had some challenging problems that needed addressing and sometimes with an older car, and finding parts, and the willingness to work on an older car, are not met with encouragement on part of a repair shop. Not the case with Mike, and the staff at Urb's. Everything i asked them to do, was met with an optimist "can-do" attitude. They did not disappoint. Our normal mechanic was booked up and we needed an oil change and a check on our car before a road trip. A friend referred Urbs in Burlington. Never again! First, Mike Hendrix was so rude and began to yell at me on the phone when I started questioning the $2500 of things they supposedly found that needed fixed. I took my car immediately to my mechanic after explaining to them it was an emergency. They fit me in even though they were fully booked. Urbs wanted $800 for spark plugs when my mechanic would do it for $300. They claimed there was a transmission fluid leak that was detrimental and my mechanic disagreed with that diagnosis. They also missed something really big! They told me my brakes were in good shape when they were not. In fact, the rear brakes needed replaced. Now, Urbs records all of their calls but mysteriously they can't pull up seven minutes of conversation where the gentleman yelled at me. The manager stepped in and handled the situation in the end after I had called the police because I could not get them to give me any paperwork or even the key to my car. He was apologetic, but Mike Hendrix who yelled at me was too chicken to come and see me face to face. At the very least he owed me an apology for his rudeness and misinformation. In the end the manager did not charge me for the oil change or the inspection due to the ordeal. I was not planning to pay for anything that was bogus but I would have paid for the oil change which my mechanic did confirm was done. I did check after the fact on the BBB and this business has complaints against them. My mechanic had not one. Not surprised. Amazingly, my mechanic is right next door. Trust your gut, always. I am glad I did. Red flags all around with this transaction. read more

Went to get my windshield motor fixed and brought my own wiper blades that I had purchased. I asked them to use the blades id purchased but instead when I got the car back I found one package opened in the back and they'd charged me an extra $63 to put their own blades on which I never approved nor did they ask me about. read more

I have been using Urb's for years. An area dealer told me I needed two axles for my Toyota 4Runner. Urb's would charge me less to do the work so I took it into them. They told me right away I only needed one axle replaced, not both. I have been going there every since. They are upfront and honest and offer fair pricing. They are really good about getting you in quickly. However, sometimes I have to call to see what the status is, but it's only because they are busy. They are always polite and welcoming and have offered a ride if I needed one. read more

I get a little skeptical when I see reviews written by "John Doe" and maybe you should too. This place is the epitome of over-priced and over-hyped because they will try to nickel and dime you for everything including stuff you don't even need done to your car.. and they will charge for for things they said they did but really didn't. At least that was my experience and it really left a salty taste in my mouth. I took my car in for a catalytic converter code and they diagnosed it, along with recommending several other things in their quote that I didn't really need. Other than the catalytic converter I wanted them to try and figure out why my new alternator belt was squeaking and to adjust my e-brake because it was not working properly. They recommended getting a complete tune-up, changing my timing belt and water pump etc.. super expensive jobs that were already done less than 50k miles ago.. hmm.. seems fishy. They seem to have done a decent job fixing my catalytic converter But when I picked up my car, started it up, the first thing I heard was the belt squeaking.. then I tested the e-brake (they charged me 60 bucks to adjust it and didn't work any differently than when I dropped it off). Since I was solo picking up one car I left my other car there to get the A/C checked out. So I got the estimate for my 2nd car and it was ridiculous. They had estimated over 1k for the ac, recommended a trans flush with 7 quarts of ATF(my car has a manual transmission) recommended both belts be replaced (my car only has 1 drive belt that turns everything). This place is obviously praying on people that don't know anything about their vehicles.. but I'll be damned if I'm going to get straight-up lied to and ripped off. Also, when I told them about the e-brake on my first vehicle, they said no problem, just drop it back off when you pick up your other one.. like people just have all the time in the world to swap their vehicles back and forth.. not to mention I live over 45 minutes away. How about actually fixing it the first time since you charged me for it? Anyways, I ended up telling them not to mess with my second vehicle and we could call it even and not to worry about actually adjusting my e-brake if they deducted the A/C diagnostic charge from my second vehicle. They agreed and I went a few days later to pick up my car. So on my second car the only thing I received was a big black oily handprint on the inside top part of my car door/headliner.. nice. It's obviously extremely hard to find a trustworthy decent place to have your car fixed these days.. this place is no different. The search continues because I'll never bring any of my vehicles here again that's for certain. My advice to people: Learn about your vehicles so you won't be totally taken advantage of and/or completely ripped off, scammed, and lied to. It'll save you a lot in the long run, trust me. read more

Took my car here for a routine inspection. No problems. They got me in fast and were professional and courteous. Fast forward two years. My car keeps dying and I can't figure out why. It's 3:00 pm, Urb's closes at 5:00, and we're supposed to drive the car across the country starting the next day. We panicked, then called Urb's. They got us in at the last minute, looked at the car, determined the issue was probably just a problem with the spare key we were using, and sent us on our way. They didn't charge us one red cent for the diagnostic and time they spent testing it out. We were on our way back home before 5:00 and are still going to make it on our trip. Thanks Urb's! Let's just say my car's a trooper. With over 183K miles on her, she's not in the best shape in the world, so every now and again we have to make a visit to the car doctor. Recently, I took her to Urb's Garage at the recommendation of some family members, who are loyal customers. Though I went in to have my AC repaired, I knew there were some problems with the CV axel (I kept getting a clicking noise when I made sharp turns). Urb (the man himself) called me with an estimate for both repairs (less than $600). His quote for the CV axel was less than $75 cheaper than a competitor's bid, so I had him take on the work. I was so pleased when I had my car back by the end of the day, with no more clicking sounds and working air conditioner just in time for summer. The total cost came in just a hair under the estimate and I was very pleased with the friendly customer service. With a car like mine, I'm sure I'll be back...but hopefully not anytime soon (fingers crossed). read more

No one likes taking their car to the mechanic, but when you are dealing with the guys at Urb's, you will not be disappointed. I had to get new ball bearings and rear axel on my 4Runner. Honest, knowledgeable, and caring! When both door handles on my truck broke I couldn't get in even though it was unlocked. None of the locksmiths in the area would come open my door because it was a "mechanical issue." The dealer wanted it towed to them and wasn't able to evaluate it for 5 days. I called Urb's as a last resort knowing they're not a lock company. The owner himself met me within 30 minutes of making the call and had the door open. He told me he had to drive by where I was anyways and when I went to pay him he said to "pay the good deed forward." He even advised me how to fix my issue. Everyone can make a mistake but when Urb's Garage said, "Sorry about your luck!" to my husband, I had a problem with the lack of responsibility for their work. Especially when it costs me 100s of dollars to correct the problem they caused. This was a neighborhood garage that I used for years! Now it is managed by Urb's son. Urb understood customer service but his son does not. This is a classic example of s successful local business that was pasted to son who is a poor manager with little knowledge of the value of customer service and loyalty. I first heard of "Urbs Garage" through the scouts as my son was there learning about engines etc. Our scout leader spoke highly of Urbs garage so I tried them out. It has been near three years since that night and I have always been pleased with their work, and their ability to save me money. Many dealerships just replace parts instead of fixing parts but not Urbs, and that in itself has saved me on a number of occassions. They are conscious of people's money and budgets and do all they can to help in that matter. One time in particular I told them to replace the fuel filter and they called me back saying they could tell it had been recently replaced. Well, that was true; the last garage had replaced it and I fogot about it! I appreciate that type of honesty. They do a good job and and honest job, and that is what keeps me returning. Sadly, they are good and honest. However, who can go for two weeks without their car? My car sat on their lot for a full week because they could not look at it. They were too busy. So I had to get a rental to cover this two week period. As I type, my car is at the end of the second week of being there and they don't know when it will be finished. So although they do good work what is the point when they cannot handle the amount of customers that they are taking in. I had my car towed from my home and they knew it was coming. Not once did they tell me that they were so busy that they have not stopped since last Oct???!! That was what I was told on the phone. So I would not recommend sending a vehicle there simply because they have far too many clients and you are going to wait. I have just been told now after 2 wks. that my car might not be available until later tomorrow. This after being told yesterday that it would ready today. They do not know how to schedule man hours and I now have to keep the rental. read more

Third times the charm!! My daughter drives a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe and we had some problems with the Alternator. Together with the help of a friend we replaced the Alternator with one i bought from Auto Zone. A few months went by and the same problem happened again so I decided to take it to Urb's Garage. They identified the alternator was bad and suggested it be replaced. They replaced the alternator and the car drove great for about two months, then the same thing started to happen. I took the car back to Urb's Garage and they did some further research and discovered that the OEM model alternator is what is recommended to stop these electrical issues from occurring. They replaced the alternator with an OEM one under their warranty with no additional cost. The vehicle is now driving excellent and we haven't had any issues. Thanks so much Urb's team! Recently I had an ongoing issue resurface with the power steering hose. This had been a recall issue years ago. Took all my invoices from previous shops to Tyler. He took the time to research this issue to find out the exact cause, the correct way to fix it at a reasonable price, so that it would be resolved. My Suzuki did a pirouette one snowy morning on I-71 in Blue Ash. Surprisingly, I only scraped the front of the car on the concrete wall and didn't hurt myself or anyone else. Suzukis aren't cheap to fix. So, with that in mind, I went to a body shop in Symmes Township and got a quote of something like $2200. Unconvinced, I went to Urb's. $800 cheaper. The difference was in the labor rate. These guys asked a reasonable rate, and they were more efficient with the time estimate. They also didn't believe that rack time for the car was necessary, since the damage was superficial. But they were wiling to do it, if I insisted, and still were like $600 cheaper than the first quote. The repair took about a week. The manager there wasn't happy with the paint matching (I really didn't notice it), so he had the paint manufacturer come out and match the color perfectly. I brought it back a week later, and they repainted it. Looked great. They even fixed a fastener that had worked its way loose in the back (unrelated to the accident). I had meant to ask them to do it, but forgot, but they apparently noticed and did it without asking and didn't charge for it. Great guys. I just had a little encounter with a curb in my new car, and I intend to get it to Urb's! read more
