I rarely leave negative reviews, and I understand that older vehicles require repairs and that unexpected issues can happen. However, my experience with this shop was so disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others. In April 2026, my daughter's vehicle was diagnosed by this shop as needing a transmission rebuild. We were quoted up to approximately $3,000 and told the vehicle would be completed by April 24. We approved the repair because my daughter is a single mother who depends on her vehicle for work. When the shop finally contacted us, we were instructed to pay over the phone and pick up the vehicle from the parking lot after hours. We paid $3,195 including tax. Immediately upon starting the vehicle, there was a loud exhaust leak that was not present when the vehicle was brought in. The receipt left on the vehicle noted a "clunking sound" and that the flex pipe needed replacement. We also discovered missing clips and bolts under the hood. We paid out of pocket to replace the missing hardware and had to take it to another shop to repair the exhaust issue. The clunking noise continued to worsen. When we attempted to contact the shop, the voicemail box frequently stated that it was not accepting messages. Eventually, the motor mount failed while the vehicle was being driven, causing additional damage including the drive belt and crank pulley. The vehicle was towed back to the shop. It sat for approximately a week before being inspected. During the following weeks, we received conflicting information from different employees regarding parts availability, labor hours, repair costs, and timelines. At one point, I was told a part could only be found on eBay for $500. My husband was given a different explanation the same day. After he located multiple replacement options himself, the shop suddenly found a used part for significantly less. Most concerning was that we were never contacted with an estimate or asked to authorize additional repairs. Instead, we received a call stating the work had already been completed and that we owed $1,463. After disputing the charge, the amount was reduced to $1,171.50. The shop also informed us that the mechanic who had originally worked on the vehicle had been terminated. My biggest concerns are: * Poor communication throughout the process * Conflicting information from staff members * Repairs completed without prior authorization or approval of costs * Additional vehicle issues immediately following major transmission work * Lack of accountability when concerns were raised I understand older vehicles can have problems. My dissatisfaction is not because the vehicle was old. It is because of the way this situation was handled from start to finish. After spending more than $4,300 between the original transmission repair, follow-up repairs, towing, and related expenses, we were left feeling misled, frustrated, and taken advantage of. I would not return to this shop and cannot recommend them based on our experience. read more

My car was there 7/31/23 for a transmission swap on my 2013 chevy sonic after i had the work done i had my car sent to car-x for further service, the mechanic shown me where the engine was leaking and had been sealed with a JB weld agent. The transmission& More shop had to have see this bad engine but continued to put the transmission in and charge me for the service had i know this engine had issues i would have never put a transmission on it. A part was missing on the transmission i had ad they were nice to give me the part at a cheaper rate. read more

Went to have my f150 serviced. Had it at 2 other places prior and couldn't solve the issue. One place tried to scam me. They were able to fix it quickly and it now runs perfect. Extremely nice people. Nicest thing is they guarantee their work for 1 year. Would recommend to anyone. read more

Beware! I was driving from Michigan to Cincinnati and my car broke down on a Friday night. When the tow truck came I told him where I wanted to go because I had found a well reviewed auto repair shop on my phone while I was waiting. The tow truck driver told me to go there since this guy was his friend and he said he did great work. I didn't really want to go there because in this day and age a repair shop with only 1 review that is from 2013 seems sketchy and besides the place I wanted to go was just down the street in Sharonville, while this place was 15-20 minutes away in Fairfield. However, the tow truck driver persisted and so I reluctantly agreed. The place was closed, and I left my keys in a drop box and got a call from the owner Monday morning. He told me that just from starting the car he knew it needed a new transmission and that it would be $3800. I asked him if he had pulled any codes since the check engine light came one when the car broke down. He told me he didn't need to and that he knew what was wrong. I asked him to pull the codes and give me a call back. That is all I ever asked or authorized. When he called me back he gave me the codes and told me the transmission would have to be replaced. I told him no thanks. He then said he would "cut me a deal" and do it for $3200. I said no thank you and that I would come by to pick up the car the next day, when I was able. When I arrived he had taken out the transmission without my permission. When I asked why he replied "It was gonna have to come out anyways." I told him I would have the car towed and he told me that if I wanted the car back he would need payment of $470. When I said that was too much he said "Well it was a lot of work." I replied that I never wanted that work and he told me that if I wanted my car I would have to pay him the money, effectively holding my car hostage. When the car was towed, I was not able to be there. However, when I saw it next the car was missing the battery, the torque converter, as well as floormats, jumper cables and literally anything that wasn't nailed down. I called the owner later to let him know that I wanted what had been taken out of my car back. He went nuts. He began to scream and curse at me. He told me that he made so much money he didn't need my stuff and that if anything they were probably stolen by other people in the shop. He then called me racist and homophobic names. When you walk in this shop the smell of cigarettes, chokes you it is so strong. To have unauthorized work done, things taken from the car, called racist names and then forced to pay in order to get my car back was a truly horrible experience. I write this to warn other people who may have their car break down near this shop like I did. Avoid it like the plague. The owner loves money above all else. Well, let him have his money, it is the root of all evil. It is weird to face such evil when all you wanted was your car fixed. I hope no one else has to go through that. read more

My 2001 Honda Accord Ex which only has 103,900 miles on it started acting strange in the mornings. The transmission would slip when you first put it in drive. Steve at Transmission and More told me it would cost 1200 to 1800 dollars to rebuild transmission. I took it in and they fix it in 2 days and it cost 1477 dollars. I'm impressed with this company they really educated me about the process of repairing my vehicle and put my mind at ease on my decision to fix my car. Performance Honda had told me it would cost 4500 dollars and I should just sell it to one of the mechanics at Honda for 300 dollars and buy a new car. So, before you take your car to another repair shop give Steve a call. read more

If I could give this place a 6 I would! The people, especially Steve, at Transmissions & More have been nothing but helpful to me. My car is 14 years old with over 200k miles on it and twice now Steve has fixed broken axels, a ball joint, and a sway bar. When my car broke down the first time everyone kept telling me that it was the transmission and it would be thousands of dollars to fix. But Steve actually took the time to figure out what was wrong and thank goodness he did because it ended up being much much cheaper than a new transmission. About three weeks after I broke an axel, I did almost the same thing on a different tire, and there was no doubt in my mind that I was taking it back to Transmissions & More. Being a young woman and clearly having no knowledge of cars, Steve could've easily ripped me off and changed the transmission and I would've never known. But, turns out he's an honest man who enjoys what he does and is very good at it. I would HIGHLY recommend this place!! read more

The part was ordered and installed the next day in about half an hour while I waited. I had been dreading the possibility of a major repair, but required only an external modulator. I hate writing this because personally I liked Steve (owner of Transmissions and More), but I can't help but feel taken advantage of. In February my van was making an unusual noise, and I noticed a hole in a pipe that connected to the catalytic converter. I took the van in to have it fixed, along with an oil change and at that time he also noticed a small oil leak. That was all fixed however a day after taking it home I still heard the noise and took it back in, and he said there was crack in the a/c compressor. I paid to get that fixed and asked him to drive it around to make sure everything was properly fixed and the noise was gone. He stated it was and that he'd feel comfortable driving it to Dayton and back. A few days after that my son and I had to go to the store and in the parking lot the break line broke. The next day I paid to have it towed to his shop and asked for both lines to be replaced since the gas tank had to be removed to install the line. He only changed the line that broke. The noise I had been hearing was still there and on my way from the bank to his shop the van lost power however I managed to coast into a Walgreens, call a tow truck and have it towed to his shop. There it sat for close to two weeks, during this time I had to rent a car at $50.00 / day and then finally on a Friday he told me the rods in the motor were bent and it wouldn't be worth to cost to fix it. So after about $1500.00 I no longer had my van. The van was in his shop more than I had it between mid February and mid March. He felt bad and called one of his friends at (D&D Auto Sales) a used car dealership to try and get me a deal on a used car which he managed to do. It looked good, it sounded good, he test drove it and he thought it was good so I purchased the jeep liberty. After I got it home I had to make some small repairs. Although I did have to replace the battery and radiator fan which was about $250.00. Now after having it for less than 6 months the water pump went, the serpentine belt fell off and I have reason to believe I may have blown a head gasket. Anyways, his basic response, which came across as cavalier and uncaring, was he can't predict the future and what might happen to a car however I could bring it in Wednesday if I wanted although I wouldn't be able to bring it in I'd have to have a tow truck deliver it to him..
