This vegan food truck is known for their house made hot dogs which are available in a variety of iterations, including: -the Improv (ketchup, mustard, sweet relish, onion) -the Jon Stewart (sauerkraut, 1000 island) -the Chicago (mustard, relish, tomato, pickle, sport peppers, celery salt) -the 313 (coney sauce, chz sauce, onion) In addition to hot dogs (which you absolutely SHOULD try because DELICIOUS) they offer sides and accompaniments such as: -stacked fries (topped with coney sauce, chz sauce, ranch, pickled jalapeños) -mac N chz (no explanation needed) -tofu dippers (battered and fried, served with dipping sauces) Pricing is quite reasonable for a vegan food truck serving house made items, which the majority of their offerings are. Drove an hour to Toledo to visit Frankly for their vegan hot dog menu. I'm sure they were a bit amused when I ordered one of everything on their menu to take back home It was well worth the drive though! Best hot dogs and cauliflower wings I've ever had! I know these are vegan hotdogs so my standards were not set too high before trying them. There is really not much to say other than the fact that the sausage itself tasted bland and the texture was completely off. There was really no "casing" and the texture of the faux meat was like a soggy meatball. There was just no chewy, rubbery goodness at all. It was like eating mashed potatoes in a sausage shape. I'm not sure why this place is so highly rated but it was a no go for me. The bread was also on the thick side compared to the sausage so I ended up having to pinch pieces of bread off. If I didn't do this then taking bites into my hotdog ..... the proportions didn't seem right. Not sure if I will be back but maybe if we are in the yard for Bananarchy ... maybe. read more

Usually I don't like vegan hotdogs and find they have a funny taste but these were good! Lots of the flavor comes from the toppings I would say. I got the Chicago dog and it was pretty good! Fries were excellent. I would definitely go back to try more dogs! read more

Hanging out in the area one day just walkin my dog with a friend... Yelp brings this cool looking place up.. and it actually shows VEGAN. I'm like... what?! They have chili, all sorts of different TYPES of dogs.. and fries.. you name it. For a Vegan Dog shop, these people know what they are doing! I got a Banh Mi dog. I have to admit... in the beginning.. I did not feel quite satisfied. Now I eat plenty of turkey, fish and chicken... no red meat. But After about 10 minutes of letting the food settle, I was satisfied. It was probably about $6 which is not that bad for this area. I will definitely be back. GET THE BANH MI DOG. read more

Frankly is a great food truck. They happen to be a plant based food truck, but their food is great and will appeal to both vegans and carnivores alike. I'm writing this review after my third stop by the truck. I have tried three different dogs, and various sides and I'm here to tell you the good is really great. They make most of the menu from scratch and always have some really creative specials for the week. If you see them go check them out, you won't be disappointed. read more

Food is fabulous! Service is fabulous. More spicy options would be fabulous! That said, the Jon Stewart is my go to if the special seems too sweet. My favorite by far is the Banh Mi!!!! Woohoo! I was a vegetarian for over 25 years before switching to vegan. I got used to not eating meat and that was ok with me, but as a result I do not really like vegan meat. But when this food truck came around I really wanted to try it. I'm quite pleased with everything I've gotten here. The 313 dog is amazing and brings me back to being a little kid and getting a Netty's chili dog. I've had various sides, including fries, potato salad, coleslaw, and mac and cheese. All were great. I really like this place. I go at least once a week to try their dog of the week. (They update their facebook page with what they have on special for the curious.) I'm around 6 in and only once have I had one that was meh to me. It's around 10 bucks to get a meal of dog, fries, and a drink. Not too bad for a tasty lunch. If you like hot dogs like I do, then I'd give it a shot. Go on a Sunday and you'll get a free beer. That should be enough to get you there. The only con of the place is that their hours are a little wonky. They did just open and I can imagine they are trying to work out the best times to be there. Sorta a con, but not really. read more

These veggie dogs were FANTASTIC. The cole slaw on the Three Rivers dog was light and crunchy. It added to the deliciousness of the dog. The Banh Mi dog was spicy but the sriracha mayo was a perfect addition. The house made veggie dogs were a great texture and tasty. The loaded fries were perfect. While eating at another food trailer in the same park their name caught my eye so my curiosity drove me to see what they were about. They have a small selection on vegan hot dogs a few apps and a couple sides to choose from. I ordered the Chicago Dog to see what a vegan take would be like. The presentation of the dog looked the a true Chicago Dog minus the bright green relish. After the first bite, well that's where it all went wrong, the dog had a hot dog shape but was very mushy and bland and someone was very heavy handed on the celery salt. Even though the veggies gave it a great crunch it just was not what I was expecting. If your vegan this may be right up your ally. read more

I love this place! They make their own vegan dogs & the owner is always there. The Chicago dog is my favorite. It's better than the vegan Chicago dog I get at Frank downtown. If a food truck has product better than a brick and mortar restaurant with the same food, you know it's truly a standout. They have a quarter of the space and a tiny fraction of the manpower. My only gripe is I wish they were open during lunch hours! I eat a little later than their normal AM hours. They close in the middle of the day for a couple hours. Financially I'm sure it makes sense & employees need their breaks! Perhaps if more people show this awesome place some love then it could have more open time, or a brick and mortar restaurant. read more

I so wanted to like this. Dog fell apart on me. the weenie.....it tasted like loose falafel just put in the shape of a hotdog. And the pepperocinis which make this Chicago style dog were toooo small..... sorry Doggie style, I will not be doing it doggie style at your place again. While living in Seattle for the last 10 years, my husband and I frequented (and adored) a little food cart that sold spruced-up vegan hot dogs and sides. So, when we discovered something similar could be found in Austin, we checked it out as soon as we were able. Our reaction? Four thumbs up! (That's two from each of us, of course.) The highlight, in my opinion, is the "house made" vegan hot dogs. They're tender and well seasoned and serve as a delicious base for the creative toppings Doggie Style's owners generously dollop on top of them. Speaking of those toppings, I have to imagine there's something for everyone at this particular food truck. I went with the Jon Stewart (dog + sauerkraut + Russian dressing) and happily gobbled it up, while the hubs chose the 313 (dog + chili sauce + cheddar sauce + onions) and loved it nearly as much. We also shared an order of queso fries and coleslaw, with the latter being the only disappointment of the evening. Don't get me wrong, it's tasty (for a vinegary slaw), but it's barely cheaper than the fries--which are mind-blowingly amazing, by the way--and as such seems like a not-so-great value in comparison. Anyway, given our reaction to Doggie Style's, er, doggies and the establishment's shockingly easy-on-the-wallet prices, we'll definitely return to it soon (and often). read more

Was really excited for some vegan hot dogs but these honestly missed the mark for me. They had a strange texture to them and not the best flavor.. I've honestly had better vegan hot dogs from HEB! they're really massive hot dogs too, so it really ended up being a waste because I couldn't swallow more than two bites. I also got the loaded fries and those were actually pretty good! Super giant so plan on sharing it! If I were to go back, I'd just skip the hot dogs and go for the fries. read more

These vegetarian Hot Dogs taste way better than any other Hot Dog I've ever had anywhere else. Love Hot Dogs but seldom eat them after reading an article about how meat hot dogs are really made. These Hot Dogs are guilt free and taste delicious and I know I am not eating some weird animal part... What makes this place even better are the two owners that work there. They are so nice and you can tell that they really care about the product they serve. They really put their hearts into this place and it shows.
