I was visiting Oak Openings Preserve metro park and was searching for vegan lunch options nearby, The Mindful Table came up in my results. I called them to confirm some of the items as the website didn't have exact description of all the items. One thing to note, you can place an order either through the website or in-person, but not over the phone. I ended up ordering via their website. When I arrived, parking was easy as it's located in a complex. It's a small cafe, with some outdoor seating. The food was already ready. They have vegan cupcakes which looked interesting, so picked the marshmallow chocolate cupcake. One of the customers suggested I should try their vegan dip, and I'm so glad that I did! It was perfectly creamy with sun dried tomatoes (non-vegans, you should give it a try). The food was great. Tacos very flavorful, the cupcake was tasty perfect sweetness of the cream blending with the base, the fiesta dip had nice flavors, not too spicy. My favorite was the sun-dried tomato basil cheese dip with crackers, so creamy and so good! Given that they are vegan and gluten-free cafe, the food was pretty good. What a great lunch at The Mindful Table! I went with the Buffalo "chicken meatballs", deviled potatoes, and a chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting and raspberry drizzled on top for dessert! I even got some of the fried pickle dip to take home! Soooooooooo good! I have been coming here occasionally pretty much since they opened the storefront, and was buying the pre-made meals from Churchill's before that. Just a fun relaxed atmosphere and great food! This was such a blessing to find. Everything I've eaten here is amazing. Kele is very friendly and welcoming. The staff is also friendly. I can't recommend the food enough. If you are gluten free and/or vegan you must stop by. Her Mac & cheese is one of my favorites. I special ordered a apple pie and it was a hit at the party. Crap service makes it hard to appreciate anything else, especially when walking in as a new customer to a place named "Mindful". I asked for a restroom before ordering, as I very much needed one. Was told no, only for employees. As if my urgency wasn't made clear, the cashier was so slow and clearly not competent at her job. Repeated my order for 6 cupcakes twice as she was neither keeping count nor track. They were out of containers for an order that size, despite that being one of their main offerings. Ok, understandable yet there's nothing mindful about them wanting to package each one in an individual plastic container so I asked for a cardboard one instead. Walked out to find I only had 5 cupcakes, not 6. By the time I walked back in my attitude was equally as crappy as the service had been. Let's hope the baked goods are better. read more

Toledo location: great service ! Delicious veggie pizza. I am not vegan or gluten free just looking for healthy clean options. My husband and I ate here for the first time. Wish they had a better indoor eating area( space is large but counter area looked odd in this big space. Sloppy joe and chips, veg pizza , deviled potatoes and 2 drinks $45. For lunch to pricey for frequent stops. My $5 water was out of date by a couple months. But fine. When brought to attention they didn't remove the other items. My husband said the sloppy joe was good even though he typically doesn't care for meat substitutes. Desserts and other items in the case looked great but did not get a chance to try. So honestly I'm used to gluten free desserts but I usually don''t look forward to vegan food. I got the chicken salad and a cupcake. The chicken salad was so flavorful! Really tasty, I didn't miss anything that wasn't in it. The cupcake was equally delish. I should have bought more to take home. To make it even better, it was all reasonably priced. This is such a cute shop! It's a gluten free and vegan bakery and deli. I stopped in yesterday to get some treats for my daughter and I. She picked out a chocolate cupcake with an Oreo on top and I chose a blueberry coffee cake. My daughter left no crumbs so needless to say she loved it. Stopped here on a road trip and wow, so glad. Wish I was local. Super nice folks running this place. Food is delicious; their brookie was incredible. Little snack plate with vegan cheese and jelly was surprisingly tasty. But most surprising was the macaroni salad. I saw it's one of their "things" but was like, ehh -- it's macaroni salad, who cares. ... YOU WILL CARE. I'm so glad I was hungry and took a chance. It is -insanely- good. It's been like 20 years since I've had macaroni salad, I think? And this is some upper echelon, top tier, 'puts cafeteria and pre-made tubs to shame' stuff. .... My first time eating at this restaurant was Tuesday, 7/5. The hot food was "Barbecue Ribs" and baked beans. I'm not a fan of vegan food being named after "real" food, because it never meets my expectations (I've only been vegan for a year). When I asked what the ribs were made out of, she told me they were tofu, and that instantly sealed the deal as a NO, because I hate tofu. She asked me to try a sample, and I couldn't believe what I was tasting...it was amazing. I went back the next day and bought two more. Today was lasagna, and that was great as well. The owner even catered my wedding appetizers because I have so many family members with gluten and dairy allergies, and many vegans in my family. Honestly was really disappointed in my 40$ catered thanksgiving meal. The "turkey" was unseasoned tofu. The green bean casserole was so hard the beans didn't even seem like they were fully cooked, the mashed potatoes were in big chunks with the skin on (they weren't advertised as redskin or anything like that) and not fully mashed and were very dry. The Mac and cheese was incredibly chalky and tasted like queso. I wanted to like it but honestly it wasn't edible. Their day to day foods are okay but nothing special and definitely over priced.
