We came during their 50th anniversary so they were a little busy but the wait was pretty short. Their buffet was so good. They had so much to choose from. A salad bar, different meat that was absolutely delicious, just a bunch of comfort food all in one place. How can you beat all you can eat comfort food?! The staff were on top of changing out all of the food when the trays were empty too. The servers even wear clothes from the time period and the restaurant itself is exactly like a barn which gives a great, beautiful rustic feel. Be sure to check out the little gift shop too!

The Friday night buffet is BBQ, and following a week of Great Smokies's dining, we were eager to enjoy "German style" meals. Brisket was better than southern; pulled pork had no flavor; ribs were burned; great salad bar; very few veggies. Locals love this place and we recommend. Neat and different ambience. They have a nice variety of meals, and their prices are incredibly reasonable; I got a large salad for under $11, and my sister got a small one for under $9. The small one at home would have easily been $12- $15 at home! Both were huge! I took home probably 2/3 of mine and half of my sister's. and got 2 more meals out of it. And their iced tea was freshly brewed and they kept refilling our glasses. They also had a variety of pies, although we didn't want any. They do charge 3% for using credit cards, but they also make it abundantly clear before you pay; there are signs on both doors, another by the register, and they also tell you. I actually complimented them on how they inform their customers of that fact. If you're hungry and near the Village Kitchen, it is absolutely worth stopping.

We feel more like we're at a relative's house. The recent change in ownership has really taken it to the next level when it comes to the family atmosphere. I didn't see any signage on the main road or on the street where you turn. There isn't any good signage that helps you definitely know that you have arrived at Laker's. Once you get there you will scramble to find a parking spot on a busy night. Again the signage for where it is okay to park is not good as well. Laker's is set right on the lake. The deck only sets three tables. The view is great. However you better make a reservation if you want to secure an outdoor seat. Once inside....the view of the lake isn't bad. There are lots of windows to share the view with those outside. The interior of the restaurant is broken up into three areas - east & west dinning and a bar. All areas have an attractive multi-colored wood walls. This is complimented by the wood floors and dark furniture. The interior is welcoming and comfortable. The bar is very attractive. The east dinning room is VERY LOUD for some reason. The west side was much quieter. The staff we encountered were very friendly. The hostess doubles as a bus person so we had to wait to find out what happens after you arrive - again "hostess will seat up" sign. It did hold a bit more grease flavor than you might like. However the breading was simply delicious! The chicken was extraordinarily moist. It could be easily cut with a fork. Overall Laker's Landing does a pretty good job with dinner. The cocktails, which we didn't have, looked very attractive and tempting. You will find the prices to be very fair and a moderately sized menu. Give them a try!
