It's an interesting, out of the way bar that's not quite like the immediate surrounding bars. The gimlet and old fashioned were made well. Be aware: this place is cash only. Never new this place existed. It's a great vibe, chill spot, not to bright, not to dark. Good prices, cash only btw, but they have a atm in the back/side. They have about 12-15 stools up front at the bar and some booths and tables. I'm sure they fill up on weekends so if you decide to go in a big group you might want to get there early. They have some special menu drinks which arent too bad. Definitely will be back. It's just a good chill spot. No drama. read more

Setup more for small groups though, with bar seating and some tables for 2-4 people max. They only have hard liquor menu, although a 'hidden' beer menu on the wall. The drinks were okay, a little strong on the sugar and less alcohol. The atmosphere was nice though and the service was solid, coming to our table and making sure we needed anything. The bathrooms are nice and the whole place feels cozy, what more do you need from a bar? Dark, classic, and fun right in the ice blocks! Frank and I go way back....like when I stumbled across a blue door months ago that said "opening soon". What is this mysterious place? No marketing efforts, no advertising and no social media thirsty posts?! A business I can get behind. A tiny dark speak easy, full of aquariums, amazing martinis and nice bartenders. It can get crowded on the weekends but always manageable. Cash is king! They have an ATM though, so don't need to wander too far if you don't come billed up. I came here with some friends on Presidents' Day. Unbeknownst to myself I forgot my jacket. A friend told me I left it where we had dinner which I'm a regular at and is close to my house. So I wasn't too worried abut it. When I went back into where I thought my jacket was they said they didn't have it. So I called Frank and checked with them and they said they had it. I informed the woman I wasn't sure how soon I'd be able to pick it up bc I lived in Folsom. She said "No problem! It will be here. " Now today after being at dinner one street away I go in not knowing I'm dealing with the same girl and she looks but tells me it's not there. She states things have been moved and she doesn't know what to tell me. "It might be upstairs but idk." You call that customer service? Let me know when is a good time for me to call and speak to someone who can check upstairs. She starts getting really snarky telling me it wasn't her responsibility to keep tabs on it and basically too bad. In this time of ppl staying home due to corona virus and the state of the economy it's horrible to treat customers this way bc I'm in the service industry and I'll be telling ppl not to patron this business. read more

This is a cool, unique spot in the quickly developing "R Corridor" of Sacramento: a series of blocks along R street, south of Midtown, that has been opening up new bars and restaurants left and right. What I loved about this place was the mid-20th century vibe: I felt like I was at a bar that Don Draper would frequent. Down to the fact that they only accept cash, it felt like I was walking into a past era. I can't recall the name of my cocktail but they have a short yet unique list of options, and you can of course order more traditional drinks as well. My only real complaint here is the price: $12 for one shot of medium-shelf liquor and some fixings is a bit much, even for this area. That being said, Frank's is the ideal spot for a post-dinner date nightcap, a classy cocktail with a friend, or just a way to feel like you're back in the 60s stirring an old-fashioned on the rocks. read more

This place is kind of hidden, I probably would have walked right past it if I hadn't seen a picture online. The inside is really small and dark, but cute and quiet. It is a good place for a date night. The drinks were very good. Service was a little off putting, it was almost like the bartender was upset that we didn't order a third round because she gave us a very strange look. 10/10 for the SpongeBob fish tank, drinks, servers, and vibes. The espresso martinis with bourbon were the perfectly, smooth star of the night. They tasted as if no alcohol or harsh stuff were in them because they were so intensely intoxicating and full. Still, don't be fooled, they packed the perfect amount of kick to get the night started! Followed by a super refreshing Tijuana Lady and Apple-tini with vodka added, everything was amazing! The drinks were not too alcohol crazy or too fruity. The mixologists/bartenders served everything to perfection and the perfect balance of alcohol and flavor without anything being too overpowering. Really amazing service and drinks. The low-hanging lamp lights are kinda strong and you may break a minor sweat, so I'd suggest trying out the more dimly lit barstool area if you want something more intimate. Le is exceptional at her craft in bartending. Her attention to detail in creating and mixing drinks is on another level. She is also superb in her customer service skills. It is evident that she has so much to do, but she makes it look easy. I looked up top bars in Sacramento and found myself at Franks..oh I mean Frank. There was a well dressed doorman in the front who let us in but only after asking us how we were doing five million times. He was trying to see if we were too drunk. I was but I'm a professional. When we finally got in all I was shocked to see the tiniest bar of my life. I was elbow to elbow with the people next to me. I also found out that they only take cash. What bar in 2022 doesn't have some sort of POS. Absolute turn off. Drinks were alright. But right then and there I got the whiff of one of the worst farts I have ever smelled. The bouquet was absolutely dreadful. It smelled so disgusting I thought I was going to puke. Had to put my shirt over my nose. As I turned to my left a guy was fanning his dogs butt. I still am not convinced it was the dog...this smelled human. Bathroom was also closed...think I know why. Shortly after that trip everyone that stepped foot into that bar I went out with got Covid. I believe it may have been the fart. The Covid fart. The bar is cool if your into retro bars and vintage hipster sort of stuff. I would recommend going to try a drink and give it a shot. I give it a 3 1/2 stars. First of all......the bathroom. It is really dark and you can't check your teeth if you are on a date. Second, you only accept cash and who carries cash on them them these days especially gen z. But, the vibes are good and the service is over the top (a bartender even came and added smoke to my drink- psch- psch )!. But if we're being honest...:the smoke was medicinal and offensive.
