Happy 22nd anniversary to us at Franck's Restaurant, in Holladay, where you never have the same menu twice! If you don't mind dining out of the city, but in the "greater Salt Lake City area" then add Franck's to your short list. As always, we split our meals: Smoked BBQ Beets: corn cake, parsley, mint, goat cheese gelato, pickled golden beet, carrot-daikon slaw, salsa verde. Preserved Heirloom Tomato Danish: sundried tomato aioli, chimichurri, red onion, sweet herbs, caramelized parmesan. Artisanal Iceberg Salad: cherry gremolata, feta, almonds, red onion, pink peppercor-ginger dressing. Ranger Valley Wagyu Coulotte: forest mushrooms, aligot, charred Vidalia onion, truffle-black vinegar jus, wasabi chimichurri, maitake-white chocolate furikake, Frogbench cucumber. Lemon Brined Southern Fried Mary's Chicken: sweet tea-cheddar grits, confit skipjack tuna salad, smoked togarashi, bourbon vinaigrette, hot honey smashed cucumber. Cookies & Milk dessert. I felt like we got out of the ordinary and just got to sit and talk; Franck's is a peaceful oasis. The service was punctual with drink refills and the timing of our courses.

I had been meaning to try this hidden restaurant in the Knudsen Corners area of Holladay and my girlfriend had been several times. We will be back. Service was great with Wendy, the server, and Lisa, a very nice hostess. The rest of the staff was very attentive and kept our water glasses full and our table clean. We had the fondue appetizer. My girlfriend had the pork loin and I had an outstanding king salmon entrée. Menu changes nightly. My girlfriend loved the white wine and I had a Heineken Zero, a great nonalcoholic beer. Valet parking with Peter at the valet stand right at the entrance, very quick and polite. We will be back! Thank you Wendy and Lisa and Peter and the rest of the staff. Make reservations.

I celebrated my birthday here last night and it was absolutely perfect. I was in town from Scottsdale and chose one of my favorite restaurants to celebrate with family. We started with the Brussels sprouts, which everyone loved. I usually order the fried chicken, but this time went with the Wagyu beef--melt-in-your-mouth tender with really interesting flavor combinations, though slightly on the salty side. My dad ordered the fried chicken and enjoyed it, but felt the breading was a bit heavy and may have been slightly undercooked. The rest of the table had the cod and pork loin, and both were big hits--we cleaned every plate. They easily accommodated our party of five even though the reservation was for four, and the service was excellent. Our waitress was bubbly, attentive, and made the night feel special. I'll always come back when I'm in town.

We did a 5 course meal and everything was amazing. The atmosphere was intimate, quiet, and overall gorgeous. The service was off the charts and anytime I come back to SLC I'll be stopping by. It was a one of a kind experience.

This place. Best food and flavor ever. It's a Utah Gem! We love to go to the Tuesday Tasting Menu (always unique) and the Thursday Burger Night (pristine hamburger meat and the best burger ever). Tonight I had the Meatloaf (again, so unique) along with the Brussel Sprouts (OMG! "YUM" is all I can say).

We are from out of town, and decided to go to Francks' for dinner because a friend recommended it. We ordered all their popular dishes- the fried chicken, the cheese fondue and the meatloaf. Everything tasted decent at the time and we had some leftover to take home. Today we heated up the leftover chicken and discovered that part of the drumstick was RAW! For a fine dining place like Francks, it's a shame that they had served raw food. For the price we pay and the reputation the restaurant upholds, this is absolutely unacceptable.

Went here for a date night - ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Had the meatloaf. That blueberry lavender sauce was heavenly. Sat outside near the fountain on a perfect summer night. Also tried the crispy brussels sprouts and loved them. Don't feel like you can go wrong with anything off the menu, can't wait to go back sometime.

This hidden gem is quiet and a great place for a romantic dinner or business dinner. The service was great and food was great as well. The Brussels were a hit.

The tasting menu on Tuesdays is fun and much larger portions than other tasting menus. The people are great but the ambiance feels super 80's, not in a bad way.

Not the first time at Francks. I love the atmosphere most all. Food is high and with some interesting flavor combos. It's a meatloaf experience like you've never experienced it.

Torn between a four star through five star rating. The food was amazing. Each dish was very unique. We ordered rolls one of their famous soups, the Wagyu the waiter had recommended. I can't even explain how the different flavors blended together in their own way. We paid $100 for the enclosed area outside and before we got our first plates, the lighting on the globe outside had went off. The waiter tried to fix it but it wouldn't turn back on. Of course there is a little light on the inside as well as a heater, ambience just was a little different. Definitely is not worth $100 at all. But it is super cute and personal. The waiter was super knowledgeable, as if he studies the menu every night and has tried everything on the menu. He seemed a little young, but he had a good personality and knew exactly what he was talking about, which was refreshing. Parking for this place is a little strange because they give you an option to park on an off site lot or you can have them park your car for you on their lot (free) which seems pointless because the walk is no different than you park and yourself.

I went here for my birthday dinner with some friends a few months ago and had a fantastic experience. I called in advance to see if the chef could prepare something vegan/gluten free for me and when I got to the restaurant, the waiter pointed out an entree on the menu that had been added just for me. They also surprised me with a small plate of fruits for my birthday dessert (since I couldn't have a more typical birthday cake). My friends and I enjoyed all of our dishes that night and would highly recommend Franck's given the delicious food, accommodating chef, kind service, and beautiful ambiance (get outdoor seating if you can).

I like supporting local business especially while traveling sometimes you have to go to the chain…read morebut sometimes you don't. In this instance so glad I didn't Sauce Boss was amazing. We chose it because it was close to the hotel how lucky are we. We went with a group of five. We ordered three entrees and a side of wings. The wings were our starter and they were fantastic black and wings are great highly recommend. My wife and I split the fried chicken with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and the cornbread it was absolutely fantastic cannot speak highly enough. My mom and dad split the shrimp and grits which they also said was great I did try the grits they were lovely, gooey, cheesy awesomeness. My sister had the kale salad as she needs gluten-free options it was easily the largest most fantastic looking kale salad I've ever seen, and she said it was great. The last thing I would probably comment on is the sauces with a name like sauce boss it better have good sauce and it did. Each and every sauce was unique from others I've had but didn't disappoint all where extremely tasty I especially like the spicy one that came with the fried chicken. At this restaurant they don't have salt and pepper on the table and for good reason everything was spiced and seasoned very well. As for service, our server was very attentive, very kind, made great suggestions and all that being that we came in within a half an hour, 45 minutes of closing, you can't beat that!!! If you want boring food don't eat here. If you want the same plain Jane thing you find at every other chain, don't eat here! On the other hand, if you want amazingly tasty food, service and sauces and a good story to tell eat here!!!

Draper, Utah…read more Southern food? Fried catfish? All in the middle of Utah? I had to try it. This is a sit down and order restaurant. Very casual inside, white walls with metal chairs and concrete floor. Very simple. Very small space. About 14 tables. I have food, allergies, and the waitress answered all of my questions. But then she sent the chef/owner, Julius, over to talk with me. Pleasant man from Chicago. But his recipes are all from his family who lived in the South. I ordered the fried catfish which is accompanied with two sides. I chose the candied yams and the mac & cheese. My husband ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes, potatoes, and gravy and the macaroni and cheese. Both plates are served with a slice of cornbread with a large honey butter smothered on top. The food came out very hot. The breading on the catfish is very thick and a lot of spices. I was pleasantly surprised when I cut my catfish and discovered it was deboned and tender. The mac & cheese was creamy and the candied yams were super sweet. Just the way I prefer them. They did seem a bit runny, but the flavor was good. The fried chicken was unbelievably moist. The breading was thick and crunchy. The mashed potatoes were of course, homemade with spices, and the brown gravy is chicken based. The cornbread was delicious. Comes with a slab of honey butter. I only wish it was served warm. It would've made the experience perfect. The food portions are large. The food has wonderful flavor with the perfect spice and southern heat. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I would give it 4.8 stars. The only two things that brought it down from a perfect score were the cornbread being cold, and the restaurant was not a cozy feel. Please come check this restaurant out and meet Julius.

We arrived for our 12:45 reservation and checked in on time. No greeting. The blonde hostess said there'd be a 10-20 minute wait. Fine. When I checked again, the brunette hostess claimed we "weren't on the list," even though we had a confirmed reservation. After some back‑and‑forth, she suddenly found it and told us to come back in five minutes. We were finally seated, then ignored for 20 minutes with no water, no greeting, nothing. The blonde eventually took our order, apologized, and said the brunette "didn't know we were there," even though she was the one who sat us. She offered a $10 gift card we never received. Two dishes we ordered were unavailable -- and we only found out after waiting another 20-30 minutes and watching tables seated after us get their food first. No manager was available, just a "server assistant" who couldn't do much. By the time we left, it was 2:00 PM. We'd been there over an hour with no food and nonstop confusion. A nearby table mentioned slow service too, so clearly this wasn't just us. Key issues: * No greeting * Reservation "lost" * Seated then ignored * Two menu items unavailable * Conflicting stories from staff * Promised gift card never given * No manager available I hate writing negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable from start to finish, and people deserve to know.

Parking is all street parking, which wasn't too bad when I went. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The menu has a lot of fun wordplay, which made it more memorable. I ordered the "Forbidden One" and it did not disappoint. The omelette was super tasty, the bacon was perfectly crispy, and the chicken was well-seasoned and not dry at all. Even the fruit cup stood out. I was pleasantly surprised that it was made with freshly cut fruit instead of the usual pre-packaged mix. My only regret is not adding apples to the "Forbidden One" for the full forbidden fruit moment. Definitely something I'd try next time. Overall, great vibes, great food, and a spot I'd come back to.

What stood out was how well the food accommodated a table with various breakfast tastes. Some of us prefer sweet brunch options, while others like savory, but, literally, everything was so yummy for everyone at the table. Nothing was overly sweet or too savory/spicy for our group, and everyone shared bites happily. I ordered the Children of the Corn, which was super yummy and the shrimp was perfect, just the right spice, and a warm, satisfying chipotle flavor. We also tried the Team 3, with fried Brussels sprouts & mustard curry sauce, Asian jalapeño slaw, and house potatoes with garlic aioli, the Squirrel's Nest French toast and The Forbidden One omelet, all yummy The atmosphere is laid-back: instead of servers, someone seats you, gives you a menu, and you order at a terminal. I appreciate that there are no delivery app drivers coming and going -- it creates a more guest-focused vibe, making it feel more like a neighborhood spot. It's small, cozy, and definitely worth waiting for, if you have a wait

On a Sunday morning at 11, there was no wait. I was surprised by this, but it looks like they may get busier in the afternoon. They don't take reservations, but you can get on the Yelp waitlist. The inside is cute with a decent amount of tables, and they have outdoor seating as well. Both the hostess and server were nice. For drinks, they have a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic options. They don't have Diet Coke, so I went for a raspberry limeade. When in Rome ya know! I'm soooo glad I ended up getting this because it was delicious. The perfect combo of sour and sweet. Also, it has chunks of raspberry in it, which I loved. I prefer the actual fruit to a syrup, so I really enjoyed this. My friend got the honeydew cucumber mint limeade and let me try it. It was really good and refreshing!! My husband got a coffee and it was good. Both mine and my friends husband also enjoyed a mimosa!! For food, we started with the mini biscuits and hash bombs to start. Their biscuits, of course, are amazing. The jam that comes with them was great. The hash bombs were good but not my favorite. I didn't love the quinoa and wanted them to have cheese or something to make them a little more flavorful on their own. They were a great vessel for dipping in the really good limeade sauce that came with them. Everyone liked their main course. My breakfast tacos were delicious!! They came with chips and salsa. The salsa is a limeade and mint salsa. I didn't love it, but it was fun to try. My husband got the biscuit bar with gravy and said they were the best biscuits and gravy he's ever had. My friends got the hoss and garden hash and liked them both. This was a little bit of a weird experience cause halfway through our meal the server let us know that another patron at the restaurant had paid for everyone there. I had never had this happen before, and it was such a pleasant surprise! This place is a 5/5 regardless, but it was def an added bonus. I'm excited to come back and try something else cause the menu has so many standouts!!
