Francks is really good. The food is always on point. And we've been coming here for years. The service is impeccable. The atmosphere is great. We sat out on the patio and it was perfect. It was my mother's birthday and we wanted to spend a little extra time with my folks. The menu hasn't changed much over the years with many of the same staple items that have been here for years. They do switch them up a little from time to time adding a different side or accompaniment. The fried chicken, meatloaf, Wagyu steak and so on. The difference is that their prices have gone up 50% most dishes used to run around $28, with the Wagyu steak being $59. Now everything is around $44-49 and the Wagyu is still $59. The small bowl of soup used to be around $8 now $12. Appetizers were $12-18 now $17-28. For four of us, no drinks, the bill came to $320 with a 20% tip.

Happy 22nd anniversary to us at Franck's Restaurant, in Holladay, where you never have the same menu twice! If you don't mind dining out of the city, but in the "greater Salt Lake City area" then add Franck's to your short list. As always, we split our meals: Smoked BBQ Beets: corn cake, parsley, mint, goat cheese gelato, pickled golden beet, carrot-daikon slaw, salsa verde. Preserved Heirloom Tomato Danish: sundried tomato aioli, chimichurri, red onion, sweet herbs, caramelized parmesan. Artisanal Iceberg Salad: cherry gremolata, feta, almonds, red onion, pink peppercor-ginger dressing. Ranger Valley Wagyu Coulotte: forest mushrooms, aligot, charred Vidalia onion, truffle-black vinegar jus, wasabi chimichurri, maitake-white chocolate furikake, Frogbench cucumber. Lemon Brined Southern Fried Mary's Chicken: sweet tea-cheddar grits, confit skipjack tuna salad, smoked togarashi, bourbon vinaigrette, hot honey smashed cucumber. Cookies & Milk dessert. I felt like we got out of the ordinary and just got to sit and talk; Franck's is a peaceful oasis. The service was punctual with drink refills and the timing of our courses.

Just returned home from a phenomenal experience. Everything about my meal was nothing short of extraordinary. The dining room is so cozy. Our server, Wendy was great! The meal was delicious. We started off with the crispy Brussels sprouts - to say it's the best Brussels sprout I've ever had would be an understatement. The texture of them is out of this world, the apple cider vinegar that glazes them is perfect. The sweet acidity of that glaze is an incredible accompaniment to the sprouts, almonds, and cheese. Next we shared the celeriac blue cheese emulsion and wedge salad. The emulsion was delicious. The herb vinaigrette on our salad was delightful. I ordered the wagyu for my entree and to put it simply - it was a joy to eat. The plating was beautiful. Every part of the dish was sensational. My boyfriend ordered the lamb shank and the lamb fell off the bone and the potato it was served with was unbelievable! I felt so joyful during my entire dinner service. It is most certainly one of the best meals I have ever had. Highly, highly, recommend. Cannot wait to come back.

I had been meaning to try this hidden restaurant in the Knudsen Corners area of Holladay and my girlfriend had been several times. We will be back. Service was great with Wendy, the server, and Lisa, a very nice hostess. The rest of the staff was very attentive and kept our water glasses full and our table clean. We had the fondue appetizer. My girlfriend had the pork loin and I had an outstanding king salmon entrée. Menu changes nightly. My girlfriend loved the white wine and I had a Heineken Zero, a great nonalcoholic beer. Valet parking with Peter at the valet stand right at the entrance, very quick and polite. We will be back! Thank you Wendy and Lisa and Peter and the rest of the staff. Make reservations.

I celebrated my birthday here last night and it was absolutely perfect. I was in town from Scottsdale and chose one of my favorite restaurants to celebrate with family. We started with the Brussels sprouts, which everyone loved. I usually order the fried chicken, but this time went with the Wagyu beef--melt-in-your-mouth tender with really interesting flavor combinations, though slightly on the salty side. My dad ordered the fried chicken and enjoyed it, but felt the breading was a bit heavy and may have been slightly undercooked. The rest of the table had the cod and pork loin, and both were big hits--we cleaned every plate. They easily accommodated our party of five even though the reservation was for four, and the service was excellent. Our waitress was bubbly, attentive, and made the night feel special. I'll always come back when I'm in town.

We did a 5 course meal and everything was amazing. The atmosphere was intimate, quiet, and overall gorgeous. The service was off the charts and anytime I come back to SLC I'll be stopping by. It was a one of a kind experience.

This place. Best food and flavor ever. It's a Utah Gem! We love to go to the Tuesday Tasting Menu (always unique) and the Thursday Burger Night (pristine hamburger meat and the best burger ever). Tonight I had the Meatloaf (again, so unique) along with the Brussel Sprouts (OMG! "YUM" is all I can say).

We are from out of town, and decided to go to Francks' for dinner because a friend recommended it. We ordered all their popular dishes- the fried chicken, the cheese fondue and the meatloaf. Everything tasted decent at the time and we had some leftover to take home. Today we heated up the leftover chicken and discovered that part of the drumstick was RAW! For a fine dining place like Francks, it's a shame that they had served raw food. For the price we pay and the reputation the restaurant upholds, this is absolutely unacceptable.

Went here for a date night - ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Had the meatloaf. That blueberry lavender sauce was heavenly. Sat outside near the fountain on a perfect summer night. Also tried the crispy brussels sprouts and loved them. Don't feel like you can go wrong with anything off the menu, can't wait to go back sometime.

This hidden gem is quiet and a great place for a romantic dinner or business dinner. The service was great and food was great as well. The Brussels were a hit.

The tasting menu on Tuesdays is fun and much larger portions than other tasting menus. The people are great but the ambiance feels super 80's, not in a bad way.

Not the first time at Francks. I love the atmosphere most all. Food is high and with some interesting flavor combos. It's a meatloaf experience like you've never experienced it.

Torn between a four star through five star rating. The food was amazing. Each dish was very unique. We ordered rolls one of their famous soups, the Wagyu the waiter had recommended. I can't even explain how the different flavors blended together in their own way. We paid $100 for the enclosed area outside and before we got our first plates, the lighting on the globe outside had went off. The waiter tried to fix it but it wouldn't turn back on. Of course there is a little light on the inside as well as a heater, ambience just was a little different. Definitely is not worth $100 at all. But it is super cute and personal. The waiter was super knowledgeable, as if he studies the menu every night and has tried everything on the menu. He seemed a little young, but he had a good personality and knew exactly what he was talking about, which was refreshing. Parking for this place is a little strange because they give you an option to park on an off site lot or you can have them park your car for you on their lot (free) which seems pointless because the walk is no different than you park and yourself.

They do full-service sit-down and to-go orders and have a wide selection of hot and cold sandwiches, bagels, dessert, other New York/Jewish style deli foods, and beer! Sloppy Joe - 5/5 - A large (1/2 lb) double decker sandwich with pastrami and corned beef. There are 3 layers of bread. The meats are tender and flavorful and blend nicely together with the thousand island dressing and slaw between the layers. It also comes with a side, I picked the potato salad which was good too. Not too much mayo but it was still nice and creamy. I just wish I got a little more potato salad to match the portion size of the sandwich! Potato Latke Pancakes - 4.5/5 - They were nice, hot, and crispy. You get 2 pancakes which have a nice thickness to them too. The flavor was good, I just think you should get more sour cream and apple sauce. It comes with a small cup of each, but its not quite enough for the 2 pancakes and its 50c each to get extra! Matzo Ball Soup - 3/5 - The matzo ball and soup broth both had a good flavor. The proportions were just off however, a huge matzo ball but not enough broth. And the broth didn't have enough of chicken meat and veggies (carrot/celery). I basically had 1/2 the matzo ball left over at the end Attempted Murder Imperial Stout Beer - 5/5 - Its a vanilla cinnamon stout. The flavor is subtle but in a good way! Its not sweet, but has a smooth bitterness and mouthfeel with a slight fragrance of the vanilla cinnamon. If you like stout, def give this a try. Its a strong one too, 10.5% ABV! The restaurant was clean, service was good, and there is a good amount of seating and its decorated nicely inside. Def give this place a try!
