    Kids grilled cheese and brisket
    April G.

We stopped in for late breakfast on a mission bday and the place was not super busy. The atmosphere is super cute with a fresh country feel. There was a man in the bar taking a conference call in full blast that was super annoying and I am fairly certain he was an employee so that was a bummer. The food: The fried chicken sandwich was delicious. The Mamas fry breakfast was tasty as well. The kids brisket grilled cheese was not great. The brisket was dry and hard to chew and the cheese was not fully melted. We might try again

This place has potential, however the service is slow and inconsistent. Also the kitchen seems to struggle with cooking things to order, such as over easy eggs. Waited almost 30 minutes as they were "making a fresh pot of coffee". Refills and other requests all seemed to take 2-3 times the amount of time to complete after request. This place could be great, if the kitchen got more consistent and the servers were better trained / better equipped to meet service requests.

My review for this restaurant is kind of mixed. It seems they are very popular but understaffed. The wait for a table was quite long but when we finally got seated there were a lot of empty tables. The service was also very slow. Our server was nice but every step of service just seemed to take a long time. The food itself was pretty good. The steak was cooked perfectly. Eggs were overdone. The chicken was well seasoned. The mimosa was 90% juice. It hardly even had bubbles from the champagne. Would not order that again. You're better off just ordering the glass of champagne/sparkling wine. Decor is cute and southern. Plenty of parking.

Was recommended this new restaurant from a coworker and he was spot on. Im always down for new local restaurants and it hit the mark. Available from breakfast/brunch to dinner, this southern style restaurant really digs into the theme of a country family diner type restaurant. As someone who grew up in the country, the theme really hit at home. As for the food, first, the portions are very generous so be prepared for leftovers. They seem push southern style chicken as their "specialty" and they hit it right. The chicken was thick and crispy but also still juicy. Im not huge on grits but the grits that came with the chicken fried steak were spot on and would for sure get again. The biscuits and gravy they had as a small side option so got that to try. The biscuit seemed homemade just with how fluffy it was and I was big on how not dry it was. The gravy was flavorful with the pepper and sausage within it. I would say my favorite part of the brunch was for sure the crispy hushpuppies. They bring it out with a sauce but i would say it wasnt necessary for how good it was. When looking into this place, it seems to have only been open for a month. You could see that they were still kinda working out some stuff but nothing that affected my experience. The service was attentive and very nice. It is a big building and has a ton of space for diners, however, I would still recommend reservations being made for parties of 4 or more. Im definitely gonna be back to try some other menu items but could be my new go to brunch spot.

The atmosphere is very cozy, cute, and full of charm. Southern comfort feel. The food is good with a wide variety of options like burgers, sandwiches, grits, po boys, steak, BBQ, chicken wings, salad, etc. Get the coleslaw and collard greens sides to balance things out. Non-Alcoholic--The jalapeño ginger beer was refreshing. They offer original, peach, and strawberry ginger beer flavors too. Alcoholic--the two drinks that stood out were the Banana bread old fashioned and Mama Bloody Mary with a deviled egg. So creative. Beers are available as well. The only thing that could make this place better is speeding up the service. Everyone was incredibly nice, but everything moved very slowly from check-in to getting our food. I know it's a popular place, but it definitely felt like a long wait. Overall, it's a perfect spot for southern food which I don't think there's many options around. What I really love is their creativity in the food and drinks. It elevates it that much more.

The atmosphere is super cute. I love how they have decorated the inside. There is only room for 6 people to sit and wait don't you go when it's super busy plan on standing. The food was ok. I ordered the brisket grilled cheese and expected more grilled cheese style, it was good but not something I wud order again. The brisket had great taste. Husband ordered a brisket burger, he enjoyed it. Fries were warm but not fresh. I did really enjoy the watermelon lemonade mimosa and the fried pickles. We also tried the Mac and cheese, it tasted like it was made with white cheddar and did not measure up to my southern expectation.

This has to be my new favorite brunch spot, next to Hash Kitchen. Our friend group went for a double birthday celebration and it was soooo worth it! The food and coffee drinks were absolutely delicious! All of us loved what we ordered. The dessert was also excellent. Service was great despite how busy it was. I highly recommend a reservation if you're wanting to go on a weekend with more than a group of 3-4. Honestly been counting down the days until we go back.

They are within their soft opening time frame. So hours and service is going to be different compared to when they fully open. With that said. The staff was warm and friendly. We were taken care of by Dave H. Fantastic recommendations. The food was tasty. We ordered Chicken and Waffles, Red Velvet pancakes, and Ribs and Brisket plate. We tried each plate and enjoyed it. The place is well decorated, very open and bright. The kitchen is probably still working out their processes and flow. It was a bit slower than anticipated. We came for lunch and if you have a limited lunchtime (hour lunch to get back to work), you're going to be anxious for your food to come out. Everything came piping hot because our server was fast to table everything. It wasn't packed as there were open tables. From seated to paying our bill, it took about a little over an hour. We had at least two refills of our drinks before the food came out. We will come back for leisurely dinner as there is so much to try on the menu. The portions are generous. We had to go boxes.

I was excited to see this new sit-down non-chain restaurant open in Jordan Landing. They have a location in Las Vegas and this is their 2nd restaurant. The restaurant got very busy after 5:30 on Friday evening and they accept reservations. All the food and drinks were really good: they make the ginger beer fresh in house and have 4 flavors to try, but the ginger intensity flavor varied between flavors. Servers and staff were friendly and did well even though they're still learning. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are clearly labeled which we really appreciate. The brisket was very tender and the cornmeal fried shrimp was really unique. There's a small store so you can come in and get jar cakes and ginger beer to go. Unfortunately getting a bottle to go took a very long time, it seems it gets put in the same queue as drinks ordered in. I'm excited to come back & try their breakfast!

    Spicy Fried Green Beans 10/10

I am from Texas so I was excited to find a new southern food option! We started off very strong with the fried green beans. I know some people are skeptical. We fry everything in Texas so I was excited and the surpassed expectations!! 10/10! They have some spice and then ranch to dip them in and it reminded me of home. Then things got a little Rocky. They have a watermelon lemonade as their only lemonade option and I love watermelon so I tried it. It just didn't mix very well. 6.4/10 Then the food.. it took 45 minutes.. when we noticed a whole family by us who came in and ordered after us got their food first we said something. They were apologetic and gave us a free dessert afterwards so they did take care of us a little. I ordered their ribeye medium rare and I got a very disappointing well done steak.. 4/10 I also tried the Mac n cheese and fried chicken. The chicken was better but not great. And the Mac n cheese was pretty good. The desert was a red velvet cookies n cream cake in a jar.. took a bite and we put the lid on it.. it was okay 5/10

We were so excited to try this new restaurant! The decor is super cute and has a souther charm feel to it! The service was good, friendly staff all around. The food portions were really good, lots of food and everything looked amazing! Our first issue was that we waited for about 57 minutes for our food, our drinks came out 30 minutes after we order. Waiting for food isn't a huge deal, especially if everything comes out fresh and hot! Unfortunately that wasn't the case with our food... EVERYTHING came out cold! The breading from the chicken on the tenders just fell apart since it was so cold, it didn't stick to the chicken. Overall we tried to eat what we could but unfortunately left most of it on the table. The flavors were pretty good but hard to eat when it's not even lukewarm..

Shrimp and Shrimp & Grits -Y-All it has BACON-
    Carrie O.

Seriously cute restaurant. Not much space for big parties, but cozy tables for 2 to 4 people. Good service, friendly, and checking in. Until you need the bill. But they were busy and we were willing to wait. Getting to the food. Order the ginger beer. So fun to try the flights. The ginger beer has a bite. The fried chicken was very good. Crispy and perfectly seasoned. While the shrimp and grits were good, not much shrimp and hard to tell as the whole thing was drowned in sauce. The pimento cheese and bacon jam were delicious. I know saltines are traditional, but I would have preferred bread. Speaking of bread, I thought complimentary bread was to be brought to the table? There were so many other menu items I would have liked to try. Fried catfish, I'm coming for you next time.

    DOUBLE B- BRISKET BURGER
    Kristyl H.

We were really excited to try a southern kitchen restaurant and boy were we greatly disappointed. Our waitress was average and polite enough, however she didn't check back in on drinks until close to the end of the meal. Also, apparently they provide you complimentary bread, but this didn't happen until about 20 min after we had ordered. We ordered the brisket burger, green acres grilled chicken sandwich and fried chicken plate (thighs). The double b brisket burger needed more bbq sauce and was average. The grilled chicken also needed more sauce and the chicken was overly salty, and the fried chicken was horrible. First the breading on the chicken was way too thick, second it not only smelled, but tasted like fish. It seems as though the chicken is fried in the same oil as the fish! Our food was also room temperature at best. I would think that if it takes 30 min to receive your food that the temperature of the food will be hot. Would I recommend Mama Bird's , I can't really say I would. My husband does want to possibly give them another try for breakfast, but we shall see. On a side note, the cornbread was great and my son would order a platter full.

We chose it because it was close to the hotel how lucky are we. We went with a group of five. We ordered three entrees and a side of wings. The wings were our starter and they were fantastic black and wings are great highly recommend. My wife and I split the fried chicken with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and the cornbread it was absolutely fantastic cannot speak highly enough. My mom and dad split the shrimp and grits which they also said was great I did try the grits they were lovely, gooey, cheesy awesomeness. My sister had the kale salad as she needs gluten-free options it was easily the largest most fantastic looking kale salad I've ever seen, and she said it was great. The last thing I would probably comment on is the sauces with a name like sauce boss it better have good sauce and it did. Each and every sauce was unique from others I've had but didn't disappoint all where extremely tasty I especially like the spicy one that came with the fried chicken. At this restaurant they don't have salt and pepper on the table and for good reason everything was spiced and seasoned very well. As for service, our server was very attentive, very kind, made great suggestions and all that being that we came in within a half an hour, 45 minutes of closing, you can't beat that!!! If you want boring food don't eat here. If you want the same plain Jane thing you find at every other chain, don't eat here! On the other hand, if you want amazingly tasty food, service and sauces and a good story to tell eat here!!!

Draper, Utah…read more Southern food? Fried catfish? All in the middle of Utah? I had to try it. This is a sit down and order restaurant. Very casual inside, white walls with metal chairs and concrete floor. Very simple. Very small space. About 14 tables. I have food, allergies, and the waitress answered all of my questions. But then she sent the chef/owner, Julius, over to talk with me. Pleasant man from Chicago. But his recipes are all from his family who lived in the South. I ordered the fried catfish which is accompanied with two sides. I chose the candied yams and the mac & cheese. My husband ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes, potatoes, and gravy and the macaroni and cheese. Both plates are served with a slice of cornbread with a large honey butter smothered on top. The food came out very hot. The breading on the catfish is very thick and a lot of spices. I was pleasantly surprised when I cut my catfish and discovered it was deboned and tender. The mac & cheese was creamy and the candied yams were super sweet. Just the way I prefer them. They did seem a bit runny, but the flavor was good. The fried chicken was unbelievably moist. The breading was thick and crunchy. The mashed potatoes were of course, homemade with spices, and the brown gravy is chicken based. The cornbread was delicious. Comes with a slab of honey butter. I only wish it was served warm. It would've made the experience perfect. The food portions are large. The food has wonderful flavor with the perfect spice and southern heat. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I would give it 4.8 stars. The only two things that brought it down from a perfect score were the cornbread being cold, and the restaurant was not a cozy feel. Please come check this restaurant out and meet Julius.

We arrived for our 12:45 reservation and checked in on time. No greeting. The blonde hostess said there'd be a 10-20 minute wait. Fine. When I checked again, the brunette hostess claimed we "weren't on the list," even though we had a confirmed reservation. After some back‑and‑forth, she suddenly found it and told us to come back in five minutes. We were finally seated, then ignored for 20 minutes with no water, no greeting, nothing. The blonde eventually took our order, apologized, and said the brunette "didn't know we were there," even though she was the one who sat us. She offered a $10 gift card we never received. Two dishes we ordered were unavailable -- and we only found out after waiting another 20-30 minutes and watching tables seated after us get their food first. No manager was available, just a "server assistant" who couldn't do much. By the time we left, it was 2:00 PM. We'd been there over an hour with no food and nonstop confusion. A nearby table mentioned slow service too, so clearly this wasn't just us. Key issues: * No greeting * Reservation "lost" * Seated then ignored * Two menu items unavailable * Conflicting stories from staff * Promised gift card never given * No manager available I hate writing negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable from start to finish, and people deserve to know.

We also tried the Team 3, with fried Brussels sprouts & mustard curry sauce, Asian jalapeño slaw, and house potatoes with garlic aioli, the Squirrel's Nest French toast and The Forbidden One omelet, all yummy The atmosphere is laid-back: instead of servers, someone seats you, gives you a menu, and you order at a terminal. I appreciate that there are no delivery app drivers coming and going -- it creates a more guest-focused vibe, making it feel more like a neighborhood spot. It's small, cozy, and definitely worth waiting for, if you have a wait

Their menu changes weekly so it's always exciting to see what their new burgers are every Thursday…read more My friends ordered their "gyro" burger and I ordered off the menu along with a few appetizers. I didn't try the gyro burger because it was very raw on the inside. It was lamb and wagyu but I prefer my burger meats to be cooked all the way through. My friends said it was sweet and it's probably because they glazed the bun. The fat bastard oysters were too big for my liking. There's also gelato on top which was weird because it made the oyster taste like it was partially frozen. I don't recommend this. The rolls tasted like biscuits. It was crumbly and it wasn't expected for a nice restaurant. The heirloom tomato pastry was my favorite dish of the night. The half sashimi trout was more like a stew in sweet sauce. The baby yellow potatoes were just added without any seasonings. Assuming it should soak in the sweet juices? I didn't care for it. Trout was good, but preferred that the skin was crispy, which was extremely soggy, drowned in the sauce. Server asked if I wanted bread to drink the sauce and sure. Why not. It may taste better with regular bread and it wasn't. You can also skip valet parking if you just walk an extra minute down the parking lot. I forgot what one of the desserts name but it was the one with butter cake. This was extremely sweet too with the gooey caramel sauce. The donut was ridiculously expensive at $16 with a little honeycomb decoration. Nothing special with the desserts. Overall, everything is sweet here. Their menu is a lot and I feel like the burger menu can be a little too much and trying too hard to be fancy.

Just returned home from a phenomenal experience. Everything about my meal was nothing short of…read moreextraordinary. The dining room is so cozy. Our server, Wendy was great! The meal was delicious. We started off with the crispy Brussels sprouts - to say it's the best Brussels sprout I've ever had would be an understatement. The texture of them is out of this world, the apple cider vinegar that glazes them is perfect. The sweet acidity of that glaze is an incredible accompaniment to the sprouts, almonds, and cheese. Next we shared the celeriac blue cheese emulsion and wedge salad. The emulsion was delicious. The herb vinaigrette on our salad was delightful. I ordered the wagyu for my entree and to put it simply - it was a joy to eat. The plating was beautiful. Every part of the dish was sensational. My boyfriend ordered the lamb shank and the lamb fell off the bone and the potato it was served with was unbelievable! I felt so joyful during my entire dinner service. It is most certainly one of the best meals I have ever had. Highly, highly, recommend. Cannot wait to come back.

Racist restaurant. If you are a person of color, do not go…read more My husband and I went there on Saturday morning with our two-year-old child and my 65-year-old parents. We did not have a reservation and arrived around 8:30 a.m. The staff told us we would have to wait two hours to be seated because we did not have a reservation. At that time, however, there were many empty tables inside the restaurant. I asked why we could not sit at one of the empty tables, and they said all of them were booked. I asked, "Are you sure? Every single empty table is booked?" They said yes. They told us to come back around 10:30 or wait nearby in case someone canceled and a table opened up earlier. I also asked if we could sit outside. They said the outdoor seating area was not open yet and would not open until 9:30. Because my young child was very hungry, I decided to wait. We were standing inside the restaurant, but the staff told us we had to wait outside. So we did. All of us stood outside, including my 65-year-old parents. After a while, I saw a white couple go inside. I clearly heard them say they did not have a reservation, but they were seated inside immediately. After waiting for an hour, we were finally seated outside at around 9:30. However, when we got outside , I noticed there were already customers sitting at tables and being served food. That means they have been seated for a while. I was very angry, but I did not want to ruin the day for my child and my parents, who did not fully understand what had happened. But we were definitely treated unfairly. we will never come back to this racist restaurant.
