LOVE al of the Mia Francesca's. Been to about 10 or 11. BY FAR the worst location. Ordered take out twice and it was terrible.

Looking for a good place to eat and with a combination of Google Earth and Yelp found Francesca's Amici. It's in a great little town area with lots of shops and restaurants. I started with the Dogfish 90 minute IPA and the Tomato, Onion, Blue cheese salad with fresh basil. Tomatoes were pretty decent making the salad pretty good. The blue cheese was very good that they put on the salad. I had the Ipoglassa alla Palermitana (Pan roasted halibut with red & yellow peppers, pine nuts, green onions, fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil, & aged balsamic vinegar. It was excellent. The halibut was cooked just right. Not overdone. The aged balsamic was a great touch with the peppers and the basil. It looks like the menu changes every few weeks which sounds exciting only I'm not from the area so I may not get to enjoy this place again. If I am in the area I will definitely come back. read more

We went on a Thursday evening and did not have a reservation. We were seated immediately. The menu is almost always different, so we had to make sure we read like it was the first time eating at this restaurant. Food was delicious and the portions were huge!! We each took home leftovers. The service was great! read more

Just another typical Francesca's. I really do not understand the allure of this chain, however they do seem to find lots of followers. I am probably in the minority, but I think their food is rather bland and boring. And not all that good! This place is serviceable, however I would explore other options first. read more

Very enjoyable Italian cuisine, clean, well lit, and a menu that contains home made pasta dishes that change every day. There are probably about 8 appetizers and 8-10 entrees, which seem to be just enough variety without too much choice. They make their own pasta, and combine it very nicely with tasty seafood and vegetables primarily, and the portions sizes are good but not overwhelming. Well worth the trip. read more

Great lunch place. Excellent comfort food and well priced. A well run franchise.

Food and service for dinner were excellent. We had the salmon and lentils, as well as the pollo polenta. Topped off with a great tiramisu. Friday night with no waiting was a great evening for our family. read more

Food and service were outstanding. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. Waitstaff courteous and professional. Lovely setting and biance. Not too noisy. read more

We are long time fans of Francesca's Amici and every time we eat there whether it's dine in like we did last night or carry out it is always so good. It was our anniversary so we went to a movie at York Theatre (the best movie theatre in the world) and then to Francesca's. We told them that it was our anniversary so they were very nice and attentive. We had the salmon with a delicious sauce, mushrooms and spinach and it was perfectly prepared. We also had a pasta dish with tons of vegetables which went perfectly with the salmon as we always share each dish. It was a special occasion so we had dessert, the vanilla cheesecake which was homemade and amazing. read more

Becoming a regular here. Menu is fresh and constantly changing. I usually order the daily special...Food quality is top notch as is the service. Great location and great atmosphere inside. Definitely worth your $$$ read more

Went last night on our first visit to Elmhurst and we were very impressed. Staff was very friendly and prompt, prices were reasonable, and atmosphere was very nice. Our food was delicious, my wife had the best salmon I have ever tasted in my life, my home made noodles were delicious, and our kids were delighted with there meals. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

The food is usually decent here but went here last Saturday night 8:30 pm reservation with ladies for my birthday, the mushroom risotto was dry, the calamari was fishy and chewy, the other ladies' meals were mediocre. Waiter rushed us ou, dessert was discouraged and chairs were on top off the tables for closing time by 9:45 pm. No nightcaps for us. A very disappointing experience. read more

Gave this place a second chance after having dinner with the husband and feeling the food was mediocre. Went for Easter brunch and was embarrassed that I made the reservation! I realize they aren't a breakfast place but... It was bland, boring and basic. read more

Especially nice since the addition, Francesca's has good food, a pleasant atmosphere and lovely service. The street-side windows along the bar is a great place to people watch and share a cocktail. Definitely recommended. read more

Been a favorite of mine for years. The food is top notch, service always great. They are good with the kids and make it very family friendly while still keeping it high end. You'll always be happy with your meal here...they will make sure you are! read more

Good service, great food. It would be five stars if it wasn't so damn loud in there. Its like everything echos off of every surface in the restaurant. Great beer selection for an Italian restaurant, they actually have Laganitas IPA, and Little sumpin sumpin. Try the mussels in tomato broth app, its amazing. read more

Had a great lunch here. Ordered calamari salad. yum.

I love Italian food. I'd heard about this place for years so when we were starving last Saturday it seemed like a natural. I can't believe people enjoy this mediocre menu that was mostly drenched in red sauce or just plain bland. Alfredo with sausage was my choice. Bland slices of Italian sausage with tough plastic casing. Sauce was flavorless. Save your money. Veal was ok but slathered in a brown bland sauce. Even the bread was subpar. I'll never go back. read more

Really good pizza tried this place for the first time a couple days ago one of the few places that isn't stingy with the cheese it was really tasty maybe I was a bit biased because I was really hungry that day but either way good pizza nice people to do business with I definitely will be back read more

After a long drive from Kansas City I was looking for a good meal. My mom isn't too adventurous with eating and I wanted something close to my hotel. Francesca's was perfect! It was close and so good. Since we were eating late and hadn't really expended a lot of energy we split our meal. The veal was outstanding! So tender so flavorful. It was noisy in the back room and hard for my 80+ year old mom to hear but great meal!!! read more

The bruschetta was excellent with fresh mozzarella. The service was also fantastic! If you're in the downtown Elmhurst this is a place you should definitely try. For my entree I chose the tortellini with the chicken and a light alfredo sauce. Whatever cheese the tortellini had was phenomenal. Check it out! read more

I ordered a large take out order for my family and when I arrived Karina was there to greet me with a smile. She doubled checked my order with me and made sure all my special requests were accurate. She was extremely pleasant and helpful and the food was amazing! read more

This place was top notch, from the Wonderful Food, down to the Wonderful Server Dennis! My Fiancee and I will definitely be back.

I've been to the Francesca's in Chicago and Naperville, and really liked them. I did not like this Elmhurst location. I was in large party. Service was disdainful and minimal. This one advertises gluten-free, but when I asked for help with finding something my dairy-intolerant child could eat, the server was not interested in helping at all. Usually pasta with simple marinara sauce is fine for us, but theirs has cheese. And while sorbetto is not supposed to have dairy, they substituted lemon ice for us without telling us because their raspberry sorbetto has dairy, I guess. We chose this restaurant because we thought it was a family-owned, neighborhood restaurant. But I hate it when a chain like Macaroni's Grill has better service and is more accommodating than a smaller place. And we've definitely had better service at the chains than we did here. Meals were smaller too. Of 5 adults, 3 of which were dieting, no one had food to take home. Calamari appetizer was good and generously sized. I don't like to give bad reviews, but this was a splurge for us. And when we splurge and have had a "meh, I've had better" experience which makes me wish I would've just stayed home and cooked, it's a bummer. read more

Each time we go to Francesca's we always start with a glass of Proseco at the bar. Its the perfect place to have a relaxing evening with good food. Everything I've eaten there was delicious. The regulars there make you feel like old friends. The staff is friendly and down-to-earth. It is a great place for a date or for stepping out with your girlfriends. read more

LOUD LOUD LOUD and they don't ever give you the seat you request even if you have a reservation. it's hard to know if the food is good because it is so LOUD!!!! the last time i went i ended up with food poisoning i think from there but was never sure and not going back. It was sad because in the past i ate there and thought it was excellent, but for the money, I'll take somewhere that i can hear myself think, no kids screaming in my ears and food that is the same or better than this place read more

Maybe I caught them on an off night but I thought it was mediocre. Chicken was dry and sauce was bitter. Service was just okay.

Was there for the second time for a Sunday luncheon/shower in the past year; food and service was excellent!!! Our servers; Angie and Jerry went above and beyond to do a great job. The food was perfect and the service was outstanding. Everything about both afternoons were a very positive experience, I would like to have a party of my own there. Christine K. 1/28/13 read more

Can't go wrong with the Pollo Arosto! Some staff members are better than others, and at times it can be a little croweded and you can feel like you're on top of one another. read more

I went here the other night I was not impressed. Everyone was polite and friendly I just didn't see the fuss about the food just my opinion.

Discovered this great restaurant through Yelp! on a recent home hunting expedition to the area. The service was great, the atmosphere awesome - great acoustic treatment on the ceiling meant it wasn't deafeningly loud! I had the gnocchi with meat sauce and I believe they really were home made (not frozen) - a first for any restaurant I've tried outside Italy (other than NYC). My companion got the vegetarian rigatoni and it was also very nice. The salads (house for him, asparagus for me) were also great. Desserts looked tempting but we resisted. read more

I love this place. The only reason they didnt get 5 stars was because parking is always difficult.

This is one of our go-to spots. On a Friday nights, it's great to sit at the bar for a glass of wine and a pizza. The bartenders are friendly and the food is consistently good. read more

Food is always excellent and fairly priced. The wine list is on the pricy side and the bottle price is five times the glass price rather than the usual multiple of four. I believe the lowest price Chardonnay is over $30 and I feel they should offer something in the low $20"s. The increased sales would likely offset the lesser margin per bottle. read more

Always delicious. Always great service. Very reliable. Been both with kids and without. Kids love the gelato that comes with their meals.

We thought we would give Francesca's Amici another try and this time we truly enjoyed our meals. I don't know if it's hit or miss because at other times is was less than average. Simple flavorful pasta dishes and service is always good. Not a fan of their tables against the wall as you are so close to the tables next to you, it's difficult to have a private conversation. We have also been here for event dinners and they were very well done. read more

The service was delightful, we were seated promptly the waitress was gracious and kind but the food was just not what I remember it to be. Nothing tasted fresh. While it wasn't bad it wasn't special and it certainly was not worth the price. My husband and I went for dinner - we shared a salad, we each had an entree and we each had 2 glasses of wine - with tip we spent $100 for ravioli I definitely could have gotten at the grocery store. I am actually writing this review in hopes that Francesca's tries to go back to the quality it used to have. When ravioli is $20 - it shouldn't be frozen. I can eat frozen ravioli at home. read more

**** update. Tom the manager immediately responded to my review to see how he can make our experience better. He invited our family back. I greatly appreciate his attentiveness to our experience and for trying to make this better. We will be going back and giving this another try as I mentioned the food was outstanding. Thank you Tom for prompt and caring customer service. We will see you soon. Worst wait staff/customer service I've had in a very long time. We made a reservation at 4pm. We were the only table seated at the time. The waiter came over once for our drink and food order. We received our food and he never came over again. The food was actually outstanding. The wait staff were all sitting at a table in the back corner of the restaurant prepping the silverware for the rest of the tables. We could see them and they could see us. Even after looking over several times, we had to flag someone down for our first drink refill, then we had to flag another one down asking for bread, then we had to ask again for our check, and had to ask yet another to take our check/payment and so it went. You think they would've had a clue after the first time we asked for something. We were essentially ignored during the entire dinner. Nobody came to ask how our food was or if we needed anything. The restaurant was empty! How clueless, lazy and unprofessional. Even though the food was great, the rest of it made it an extremely irritating and unpleasant experience. I guess it's too much to ask to actually be waited on at this restaurant. read more

This restaurant used to be our go-to Friday night restaurant, but something has happened to the ambience and the food. The servers are great, but the food has gone downhill. I used to love the salmon, but it is now ill prepared and seems like a cheaper cut. The linguini with clam sauce is just okay, but the clams are minuscule. The lights were turned up high in the dining room and the bus boys were loud and clamorous and no one told them to quiet down. It is sad when the manager is not on the premises and the place seems to be tired and certainly missing the mark. The tables are very close together also. They have a large table in the center of the restaurant that has large parties that usually have children who are walking around the restaurant and very loud. My suggestion would be to have the back dining rooms for families of young children who don't mind the noise. It feels like you are at a McDonalds not a romantic Italian restaurant. read more

Everything was completely amazing. The staff was completely attentive and knowledgeable on everything on the menu. We ordered the Ripa Delle More. The best red blend I've had! He food was impeccable we will be coming back here! read more
