I do think it was a bit overkill to request insurance information three times, but other than that, everything was fine. She had me try on different contacts on the spot - which I haven't had happen before at other eye exams. I walked into Village Wye Center and found a pair I loved within 10 minutes. I was able to order the lenses in the custom colors I wanted. I got magnetic clip on sunglass lenses for them and a second set of clip on made especially for migraines. After picking up my glasses I walked around for weeks saying randomly to people that I loved my new glasses lol. I still feel this way. Recently I had to change my prescription. They were happy to help me do this, and even fixed a tiny bit of damage I had caused after dropping them. They were ready faster than predicted and they're perfect. I love this store.

I came in here as a new member and the desk lady was so unpleasant. Did not smile at all and very short replies. I almost wanted to apologize for even setting foot into the building because she seems like she did not want to talk to any guests. The other associate, I asked some simple questions about some frames I was interested in, and he looked confused and told me to ask the desk lady... no help at all and I for sure did not want to talk to the desk lady again. The eye doctor was a tad more professional (although I believe she is no longer at this facility), but even though she was informative; she did seem to lack compassion in some of her answers. There are so many other eye centers out there with better customer service - do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!!!!

The Shirlington location has so many options for frames to choose from and the customer service is personalized. Thuy Tran took the time to show me various frames best suited for me and explained the different types of lenses and options. She made sure I had all the appropriate documentation for my FSA/HSA expenses. She fitted me properly and made recommendations to me based on my needs. He's separate from the optical but was telling me about the deals that the optics would provide if I showed them I got my exam done from him and also told me how to get them to price match any other deals I saw. I felt like he was looking out for my best interest and not just looking to take my insurance money like some other doctors do. I'm not interested in the doctor being my friend- rather I evaluate them based on competence and professionalism. He helped me to see clearer than before and have less migraines. I've also gone to him for emergency eye pains and he was able to quickly diagnose and treat me then too. I expect the more of a happy friendliness from the sales side and that would be the actual target optical.The optical manager Stephanie is very nice and and also super at her job. I would highly recommend going to her if you need glasses or contacts!
