Yes, Andria and Andrew's expertise don't come cheap.
But you wouldn't go to a museum and go, "Yeah, this Fabergé egg...I could buy plastic eggs for $5, so why can't this Fabergé egg also cost five dollars???" Hahaha
I feel the same way with Andria and Andrew's work. There's a part of my brain that gets a tad bit shocked whenever I pay for the job...but by the time I pick up the artwork, my brain is CRYING over just how BEAUTIFUL the framing ended up looking.
The cheap Asian in my brain always initially grumbles at me about the price and how I could find a framing job that's probably 60% cheaper somewhere...but then I look around my home and you can IMMEDIATELY spot which pieces have been framed by Hang Steady and which pieces haven't, simply because their quality of work is just SOOOO different and on a COMPLETELY different level of blow-your-socks-off amazingness.
And then you happily smile to yourself and you remember that artwork that means something to you is going to be hung and displayed for yeeeaarrss and therefore, this definitely IS something that you're willing to put money into, because it's something that you're investing several years of display to anyone who comes to your place.
People invest hundreds of dollars into finding the right bed frame and headboard for their bed because they want something beautiful to look at every night when getting into bed.
In the same way, a picture's frame is what draws people's eyes to what's inside it and your can spot within SECONDS whether the picture frame is either crap-quality frame or mid-quality frame or high-quality frame.
Are you paying a ton more money than the random framing shop that churns out low-quality frames?
Yes, you are.
But it's SOOOOO worth it!!!
And not only that, but Andria and Andrew are THE kindest, most sweetest, and most patient and most professional people out there! I walked in today without an appointment to pick up some framing jobs that I had done, and there was already a customer waiting in front of me. Andrew was on the phone with a client and he didn't try to rush the client off the phone and he was always so professional and patient and cheerful with the client, that you couldn't help but know that both Andria and Andrew treat each client with sooooo much respect.
Even when picking out a frame, they don't try to rush the job or try to impose their thoughts and opinion. They take their time to try to find out the customer's thoughts and they make recommendations, where they put up multiple frame options and multiple mat options to use around your photo, underneath the frame, and you get to see up close how everything will look before deciding what to order. This isn't one of those framing places where you drop off your things and you're out within 5 to 10 minutes. Each time I've dropped off a piece to them, whether it's just 1 piece or 5 pieces, I've stayed there for at LEAST 30 minutes, because we get deeeeeeepp into the discussion of how it's going to be displayed, where it's going to be displayed, what frame color matches the picture, what frame material matches the picture, etc.
Every recommendation they've ever made...I've ALWAYS come to absolutely LOVE their advice and their work and their results.
I've been to other frame places in my life; in those places, when they're done, you just pick up your newly framed items and walk out with them. For Andria and Andrew, they treat each frame with the utmost respect and care; I've had completed frames by them entirely wrapped up in multiple layers of plastic wrap, so the frame doesn't get damaged in transport. And I've had jobs by them where I've asked multiple items to be framed, and each one came in its own specialized box afterwards so it wouldn't be damaged in transport.
Honestly, you can't find this level of care and respect in most places!
