I am an oil painter. I sell paintings but I haven't had my patrons ask ME to frame them usually. Once I got that request, I had to find a frame shop. Castle Custom Framing fit the bill: Easy to get to--easy to find parking, modest and fair pricing and attentive staff. The quality of the work they did for the painting was top tier! DEFINITELY recommend for working artists in the LA area! read more

I only write reviews when I have amazing experiences so I can't believe it has taken me this long to write one. I have been using Castle Custom to frame all of my pieces. The owner Chad, has impeccable taste on helping me to pick out the perfect frame for my art piece. They have a large selection so I'm always discovering someone new. Great down to earth people with a great customer service. read more

I've gotten a couple of things framed in the past but no one was as fun, pleasant, easy, attentive and thorough as Chad. Seriously, make him your go-to person for framing, he's not only talented and takes a lot of pride in what he does but is also a kind person. My current partner lost his favorite Mike Mignola print last year (long story), I was finally able to track another one down and wanted to make it super special. Had to find a framer within walking distance since my car was in the shop and skipped over to Castle Custom Framing. Chad met me outside (masked) and explained that he does everything over text these days. His communication couldn't have been more clear or considerate, and he reached out only a couple of hours later with three great options for the print, plus thoughtful descriptions of each, including which was his subjective fave. I love that he shared his POV, and his philosophy to "frame-to-the-art rather than a specific decor style that way it'll look good anywhere you hang it." It was honestly such an immense help when I was having trouble deciding between two of the frames. I went with a more gothic, occulty, horror fanaticy frame that matched the art, rather than a toned down matte black frame with red accents. But it mostly depends on your style, Chad will pull options that will all look good. He priced it out right there + $50 to expedite in time for the holidays. (It was $50 for the size of my print but can be $100 for larger pieces). This was on 12/9 and the rush was finished on 12/16! I also brought in three small prints that I didn't need in time for the holidays. He sent options the next morning since they looked better in natural light. He was just as thoughtful and thorough with these little drawings as the surprise reuniting-my-partner-with-his-favorite-artist's-art gift. Thank you so much Chad! read more

I had such a great experience with Chad of Castle Custom Framing! Rather than going with Framebridge, I wanted to support a local business in my neighborhood. What a gem in Highland Park. If you have sentimental/dope pieces you want framed well, look no further. Chad goes over a few options varying in budget but the best for your piece. He definitely suggests what's best for the piece while also pushing you out of your comfort zone. I would have never picked out this frame on my own but WOW this came out so incredible! It's a COVID-safe process of drop off and pickup. He shows options through text (if you're okay with that) and you can pay via Venmo for convenience. I highly recommend Chad & his business! I already gave him additional pieces to frame :) read more

Chad was super helpful and had great suggestions for how to frame my art. He sent over a bunch of excellent styles for me to check out via text message, then I pulled the trigger on my favorite. Ended up choosing a style he suggested and not the one I had originally in mind. Whole process was so easy and his communication is A+. Also took less time than he quoted me. 5 stars. read more

Several months ago, Chad helped me frame an original painting I had that had been rolled up for a long time. I didn't have a chance to leave a review back then but hope this helps someone else. Chad was Knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and COViD- conscious, so the whole process went smoothly, and he helped me decide that a wooden frame for my canvas would be the best option. Now I get to enjoy the painting instead of worrying it's getting damaged rolled up in my closet, and I will contact him again if I need anything else framed. Pricing was reasonable & fair, especially with the Yelp offers added. read more

Brought my favorite print to Castle for the perfect frame and Chad crushed it! We worked together to create a custom design to emphasize the artwork, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I first had the pleasure of getting to know Chad's detail oriented work ethic as a fellow colleague at a former employer. There, I was fortunate enough to see his process from creating custom finishes to executing complex projects within a given time frame-all with ease. I was definitely impressed! As a photographer, I knew I wanted to collaborate with him on my images that needed to be gallery ready, and he recently framed artwork that I presented at the Lucie Foundation in downtown Los Angeles. It's gorgeous! He used a white washed maple wood, along with uv plexi and acid free materials to ensure its archivability. If you are at all interested in preserving something of value to you, and like supporting small businesses, do yourself a favor and hit Chad's line. You won't be disappointed. Chad's the go-to guy for your framing needs. I have a Japanese wood block print that I wanted to copy the way it's showcased in the museum exhibits. This was my first art frame so Chad sat me down and went through all of the steps of choosing the best possible specs while being cognizant of my budget. Not only that, Chad worked with me on timelines and made sure I got the piece before leaving town. I highly recommend Castle Custom Framing! read more

The process was super simple and Chad was very communicative throughout the time. I dropped four pieces to get custom framed. Chad is the best! I brought my business to him after reading all the glowing Yelp reviews and am so happy I did! He recommended a few options I'd never choose on my own, which is exactly what I was looking for since I've never gotten art professionally framed before. Moreover, he was happy to work within my budget and I never felt like I was being subjected to upselling or high pressure tactics. Súper super happy to have gone with Castle Custom Framing. I originally found Chad's business through Yelp while looking for more contemporary framing options and ended up stalking all the work displayed on Instagram. I couldn't be happier with the results! After reviewing several different wood previews, we went with Chad's 1st choice. He has an expert eye for complementary accents and can help take control of the creative indecisiveness. The process for pickup and payment was super easy & I'm very happy about the amazing work he's done. Will be having more pieces framed soon! read more

If I could give Chad 7 stars I would. He is the best. So kind, so helpful, and so creative. All that AND he is being very careful with Covid. I drove by, dropped off my items through my car window, he collected them, begloved, and then texted me wthin an hour with all of his favorite options for each piece. I had some unconventional items that had some real texture to them and he made them pop and shine. I can't want to come back for all of my framing needs. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting to hear back from another framer on a piece I dropped off about 3 months ago. This will not happen with Chad Castle! read more
