In April of 2026, I made an appointment to come to the Frame Store on Beverly Boulevard, near West…read moreHollywood. What did I want framed? Well, it's a beautiful cross stitch tapestry on which I had spent two years' worth of work. When I made the appointment I asked Britney if they ever worked with fabric. She replied, "Oh, we do fabric all the time," which really set me at ease. When I reached the Frame Store, I admired the vast quantities of natural light. Sam was at the counter, and he started our appointment right on time. Sam was warm and approachable, and best of all in my eyes, as soon as he saw my tapestry, he appreciated its value. When it came time for selections and choices, Sam offered helpful and clear explanations. He pointed to examples of fabric framing within the store, which were all clean and flat and presented beautifully. He pointed out different types of glass which would protect the delicate fabric. He had his own opinions led by experience, but he was not too pushy. This is not an inexpensive proposition, but I got excellent results for the price I paid. His estimate of the piece's completion was spot on: it was complete in a timely manner, and the finish is absolutely impeccable. I am so happy with the work. I would recommend Frame Store to anyone.

Dude, I'm not staring at pens like a Van Gogh. I want to buy something. Then you ask a question and get a curt, unhelpful answer. After finally getting the markers, I went to grab a canvas and was told the markers would be taken up front for me. Maybe that's store policy, but the way it was handled made me feel like I was being treated as though I might steal them rather than like a customer who had just waited 15 minutes to buy them. Then the same employee who took 15 minutes to help me asked me to move out of the aisle because he'd decided that was the moment to move a large item through it. And finally, at checkout: "Hope your project goes well." Project. I'm not a student. I'm an artist buying art supplies. Maybe nothing was meant by it, but by that point it was a fitting end to the experience. Just generally a meh visit and another example of customer service being lackluster. I don't need anyone to roll out a red carpet -- I'd just like to feel like a customer rather than an inconvenience.
