My wife and I know pizza. Seriously. We've had THE BEST pizzas in Italy, Chicago, and NYC. All of the negative, whiny reviews below complain about "thin crust" pie costing $26. What these pizza novices don't know is that all pizza has a thin crust. Even Chicago pizza has a relatively thin crust, but is deep with toppings. The only places that offer a "thick crust" are bogus joints like Pizza Hut. Fralo's offers a traditional, Italian or NYC-style pie with a crispy, almost hard, slightly charred (not burnt) crust. You can hold it in one hand, fold it, and it doesn't droop. Perfect! The toppings are ultra fresh, go together well, and are delicious. Service is reasonably fast and the staff are courteous and attentive. We've been to Fralo's twice: once for take-out, then again in restaurant. Indoor seating is limited, so either arrive early or plan to sit outside. This is a casual place with a high-end pie, nearly as good as that offered at Dough Pizzeria. Fralo's offers live music, which we unfortunately have missed out on twice. So, ignore the negative reviews and get your butt over to Fralo's. Relax outside and taste a truly good pizza. You'll never go back to that nasty chain pizza place again. read more

Pros - they offer indoor and outdoor seating. Most of their seating is outside. They have a big canopy that covers a majority of the outdoor seating for those of us who want some shade - pizza is a really good size. We ordered 3 pizzas to share between 8 adults - they have clear descriptions of the pizzas on their menu, but I wish they had pictures - pizza was good, they have interesting flavors. One of the pizzas we ordered had potato slices on it! - we had two dogs with us and our waiter offered to give the dogs water (and yes this place is pet friendly!) - our waiter managed to split our bill 8 ways and didn't throw a fit about it Cons - they do have a parking lot, but it's a bit hard to drive into - our waiter was a little slow in filling our waters. She would say she'd come back to fill our waters, but it'd be like another 10-15 minutes before she came by - restrooms are outdoor, which can be a huge inconvenience if it's raining read more

It had been years since I'd been to Fralo's and sadly I was disappointed. Upon arrival, the area around the hostess stand reeked of cat pee! As my friend and I checked in, the hostess informed us that the computer system was down and cash was encouraged. She recommended we cross the Highway and pull cash. Unfortunately since we ubered this was not an option. At which point she reluctantly stated that they could write down our card numbers and charge manually. The service was mediocre at best. The sever appeared like a deer in headlights all night. The plates and utensils were dirty. The food was delicious and the entertainment was great! I fact, my friend and I were having such a great time listening to the music we got up and walked to the outdoor fire pit to warm up and thaw out for a bit. A server came over and turned off the fire at the manager's request. It was 930 at the latest. The manager informed us that they were closing up. According to the website they close at 10. When this was brought to the manager's attention she was not phased and reiterated they were closing. The entertainment was confused as well as they were contracted until 10. We do not foresee any more trips to Fralo's in our future. read more

Great place for dine in or take out. Your able to do so many options with their pizza. If you're eating there it's mainly outdoor seating. The staff has always been nice. read more

Honestly we would consider ourselves regular patrons. We even would come here on occasion to celebrate events. Today is the first time we have been in a few months and I don't know what has changed but the food quality is SIGNIFICANTLY less appealing. We usually order calamari to start and it was clear that this is a cheaper frozen version than previously served. The pizzas too have gone downhill (perhaps it's the time of day, this was the earliest we've been). Specifically the meat lovers seems to use less quality ingredients than before - Im looking at you cheap pepperoni. Very sad that we are seeing a dip in quality in the food read more

Fralo's - Very "chewy" calamari - it tastes awful and we didn't finish it - Pizza Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

tl;dr - cozy place and delicious pizza! Service: 5/5 - the wait staff was quick to greet my party and I upon arrival. For an early dinner, we were able to pick wherever we wanted to sit. Although we sat inside, I did notice that they had blankets available for customers if the weather was cold. Our waitress was very tentative. She made frequent visits to our table to make sure that we were taken care of. I feel very satisfied with her service. Pozzi Pizza: 4/5- Oh my my! Fresh and hot out of the oven! I was drooling from the aroma of our delivered pizza! I especially loved how our pizza was served on pizza stand. Very nice appearance! How was the pizza? Very cheesy. Great idea to have potato slices as toppings. I definitely enjoyed it. I just wish it was a bit more saucier. My only complaint are the restrooms. Aside from the much-needed upgrade, the only two restrooms showed no signs of maintenance. Although one restroom was useable, the other restroom was completely out of toilet paper. Whoever used it last left a huge mess; just imagine- yuck! Aside from the restroom situation, I would come back again to try other pizza menu items! read more

It has been "Years & Years," since I'd dined at Fralo's. That said, it was Just as inviting, Cuul as it was when they First Opened. The Pizza was actually "Pretty Good." The App was Terrible: Formaggio de Capra...it's just pizza crust no flavor & the Goat Cheese lacked herb seasoning. I'll try something different next time. There Pizza though a Reason to try this Spot! read more

The pizza is really good. The best thing is that you can split one up and try different flavors. There was live music that wasn't too loud or invasive, and the service was good. Most of the seating is outside, so be prepared. They have fans to keep it cool, but that can also make the food cool. They were out of a couple of things we wanted to try, but other great choices to choose from. The pear pizza is yummy and almost passed as dessert! read more

I went here a few weeks ago with my family. I honestly hadn't been in a few years. This is great during the COVID pandemic because a majority of their seating is outdoors. We ordered a couple of pizza's and also the cheese bites. All their food is so good. The pizza and appetizer were really amazing. The food is a little pricey but it is worth it. It will also take a little while for your pizza to come out, but again it's because it is made from scratch. So make sure you have some extra time to have a enjoyable dinner and take in the atmosphere. Sorry, forgot one thing. It used to be only BYOB but you can purchase alcohol and BYOB now. read more

Arguably the best pizza in San Antonio! A great place to hang out outside while enjoying pizza with pear...wait, what?!? Sure. Why not. Pear, potatoes, or your usual Italian sausage. They're not afraid to try new flavors. If you want a typical pie, those are great too! The atmosphere and music just makes things that much better. Give them a try! read more

Huge potential for a local business. Pizza is very good and beer is cold. Downside is that there is no management. Employees are all over the place, running into each other, and there is no concern for proper food handling. Guys are touching everything in the kitchen and then maki g pizzas like it's a routine thing. No gloves. I hope they at least wash their hands. read more

Heard good things so we decided to try this place out. The pizza is really good, thin crust but not overcooked or dry at all. Waitstaff was friendly and helpful. Pricing is a bit steep but things are tough all over at this point. Closest thing to my own homemade pies I've had in some time. Well done! read more

The best pizza hands down. Food is delicious and fresh. We always have excellent food from Fralos. Highly recommend and the cheese sticks are excellent too read more

We had the sampler pizza take-and-bake with traditional, nutty chicken, Mediterranean, and meat lovers. 17 min in the oven at 425 and it was ready to go. So delicious! I also bought a produce bag and some eggs while we were there as well. Everyone was very nice and there was a sign about staying 6 feet away from one another. These are hard times but it was good to support a local business and get such excellent service and food. read more

We got take out from here. Food was great! Really liked the formaggio de Capra. Would go back. Convenient location.

5 stars for the crust (I'm told they are locally known for that). The toppings could use some improvement. Seriously, all they have to do is elevate their toppings read more

I want to start by saying the pizza is good. Solid 3.5 star pizza. Not fantastic, but definitely good. It is a nice upgrade from a chain quick-service pizza place if you want to-go pizza. I will eat here again, but will try different ordering methods next time, because I personally did not have a good first experience with online ordering at Fralo's. More of a 1 star experience, both with the website and in person customer service. The online ordering process is terrible. The website is bulky and customizing a pizza feels intuitive at first, but it gets very wonky when you try to use the option to do half the pizza one style and half the another style. Ultimately my order was wrong (whether that was the website or the chef's mess up, who knows). One frustrating thing about the website is that it doesn't give you an approximate wait time; you have to place you order before it tells you a wait time, which in my case was 60 minutes. Would have been nice to know ahead of time with a wait that length, but ok sure, willing to wait (not that I had a choice since they already took my $60 for two pizzas). The absolute most frustrating part about my experience was the customer service. I arrived to pick up the pizzas 60 minutes later, as my confirmation email stated. The girl at the front counter said they didn't have my order and said that if I didn't get a confirmation email, my order didn't process. I showed her my conformation email, at which point she continuously tried to gaslight me into believing that it was not a confirmation email, despite having a title of "thank you for your order!" with details about the order and a confirmation number. After going back and forth with her for several minutes while her manager stood there watching and doing nothing to assist, another girl came over and confirmed that it was indeed a confirmation email and proceeded to find my order in about 3 seconds. No one apologized at all and they kind of made a point to quickly get me out the door. Last major frustration was the actual pizza. It was good, yes, but it was COLD. During my conversation with the girl who initially could not find my order, I asked how long it would take to get new pizzas made. At this point I had been waiting over an hour. She said the wait is about 15 minutes, at which point I asked why my confirmation email said 60 minutes. This is the first time the hovering manager said a word, in which she replied "we say that just in case we need longer." ........Ok? So this means my pizza took 15 minutes to make, then it sat out on the counter (not in a warmer) for 45 minutes until my pickup time, and another 10 minutes while a teenager proceeded to treat me like I was an idiot who didn't actually place an order. I live three minutes away and the pizza was room temp at best, so it was definitely not the commute that left me with cold pizza. Again, the pizza is good and I would give Fralo's another try. But next time I'll eat there in person, or if ordering to-go, I'll either call on the phone to order or even drive there to order and just wait until it's ready. read more

I've been going here for at least 25+ years. Back in the day, Fralos was the best around. Now it's just a sad shell of days gone. The pizza quality is just awful. We decided after a year to stop back in one more time and try again. We ordered and a pizza to go and our order was simple, pepperoni, pineapple and pepperoncini (was told No pepperoncini anymore). Upon opening the box shortly after leaving to eat, my words were, NEVER EVER AGAIN! Poorly and not completely cut. Abstract triangles with signs of no cares given. Soaking wet center and possibly 5 slices of pineapple. Almost just threw it away, but we cut the slices to try and make something good of of this, what Fralos has become is just sad! Never, Ever Again. I'd rather stop for a Whataburger... read more

Awesome venue on a Friday evening with live entertainment, cold beer, and delicious pizza! Appetizers of calamari and garlic bread were awesome. We ordered the sampler pizza with 4 of their specialty recipes on a 14" pie. The only drawback was the service was woefully slow. Drinks took forever to be delivered. We waited 20 minutes to put in our order. And we were wiling to order dessert, but all the waitress did was drop off our check. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars. read more

The location is awesome and have never had bad service, but the pizza isn't my favorite. Usually busy so it's probably just me.

Loved the sampler - Grant's Pear was a favorite. They don't have delivery but carry out was fast, food still fresh.

Went here to eat outside with a co-worker for lunch. It had just rained but we got a seat under the little porch area as the sun came out. Finally the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown was lifted a bit and it was great to have a pizza and beer outside of the home. Went inside and a server said he would come outside. Got a Vanilla Porter with a 15-inch game pizza. This pizza hits the spot. Cooked with a perfect crush with venison pepperoni, Italian sausage, spinach, mushrooms, provolone, spicy tomato sauce and red onions. Got to take one slice home that was just as good the next day. David, the server, was prompt and courteous. So glad to have the service industry back. Get out to support these people! read more

We purchased two pizzas and three salads and had the order repeated correctly on the phone. When we got there the pizzas looked ok and when we got home we found that they forgot two (not-visible) additives on one pizza and put rosemary on our pepperoni pizza instead of on the potato pizza which made little to no sense. The pizza is ok but pricey. The salads were ok as well but we would not order salads from them again due to low volume, weak seasoning and high cost. read more
