This would be a 5 star review if it was not for their online ordering that does not tell you how much toppings are or even if they cost extra when you're under the impression they are apart of you order. So, I did an online order to be delivered. Yes, I was being completely lazy because I live across the street from this place. So it was relatively easy to order but deceptive. What I mean is when you make a choice you are then able to see the toppings you can choose but there is no way to know what the limit is in the price of your choice nor how much anything over your limit costs. Everything I ordered, mozzarella sticks, perfectly cooked, not greasy or over fried delicious marinara sauce to dip them in. A house salad which absolutely surprised me with it's size. It was more then the usual "house" salad that you get in most places. Honeymustard dressing that seemed fresh. Chicken Alfredo. Now I was impressed. The sauce was not overpowering at all and it was not drowning in sauce. Some Alfredo sauces could have a flour taste due to not enough liquid when making the sauce and this was freshly made sauce that for my taste could use a hint more pepper. Lastly was a calzone. Now this was to die for. I compared it to the ones I'd get in Little Italy ​in NYC that's how good it was. So, I will order from them again and I may just trot across the street to do so. - Disappointing Experience at Pizza Italia Dear Pizza Italia Management, I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the customer service I received during my recent visit to Pizza Italia. I have enjoyed coming to Pizza Italia in the past, especially when Uncle Larry worked there. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was completely different. I ordered my food and waited an unreasonable amount of time for it to arrive. During that time, I watched other tables that arrived after me receive their food while I continued waiting. When I finally addressed the staff about the delay, I felt as though I was being treated as if I had done something wrong simply for asking about my order. The way the situation was handled made me feel disrespected and unappreciated as a customer. I also requested a refund because the service I received did not meet reasonable expectations. My refund request was initially denied. Eventually, I was told that I would receive reimbursement, but that I would have to wait approximately two days for the money to appear in my bank account. During this interaction, Manager Bob also told me that the owner wants to reduce staffing in order to save money. As a customer, I do not feel that this is something I should have to hear as an explanation for poor service. Staffing and business decisions are management's responsibility, and customers should not be made to feel responsible for the consequences of those decisions. What was most disappointing was that no one made a genuine effort to correct the situation or make me feel valued as a customer. A simple apology and an effort to resolve the problem could have made a significant difference. I have never experienced this level of disrespect over what should have been a simple lunch at a restaurant I once enjoyed visiting. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning to Pizza Italia. I hope management takes this complaint seriously and considers how customers are treated when problems occur. I almost feel bad because we do genuinely like the food. Tonight we ordered pizza, wings and salads and since we have had terrible experiences with the delivery, we opted to pick it up. We were told a certain time and we got there 15 minutes later because we already know they run slow but to then get there and be told it'll be five minutes was frustrating. We didn't get our food for 30 minutes after we arrived to the restaurant. So that was 30 minutes that they initially quoted us,15 we gave them, and then an additional 30 minutes sitting in the restaurant. The restaurant wasn't busy and there were three people behind the cashier desk all of whom were snacking and watching TV. One older gentleman who was walking around busing tables and running food alone. They have an open kitchen door which we sat near expecting our food to come out soon and we could see at least four people in the kitchen, just standing around on their phones. Not once did anybody check on us, not once where we offered a drink or even water while we waited...nothing. A small place like this should thrive off of their returning customer business but they've done nothing to earn it. read more

I've been a Pizza Italia customer for many years, and I've ordered using call-in, the web site, and dine-in, and I've received a great pizza every time. Even though they're a little pricey, I still prefer Pizza Italia over the fast food/chain pizza restaurants because they are more consistent and have better service. Place is always busy and has lots of tables for big and small groups. Monday night is only $7.00 for a large pizza and for some that is leftovers for the next day. Lots of TV's to watch a sports show, baseball, basketball or football. Pizza comes out hot and doesn't take too long. read more

It reminds me of the old Pizza Hut I use to go to when I was a kid. They have 2 bars you can sit at and plenty of tables for bigger groups. Family time at the Zavala household. So we finally decided on Pizza Italian, mainly for the beer. Don't get me wrong, the pizza is good, but that may be the extent of it. We walked in, during the football games, wasn't crowded. That was good. So it wasn't loud or rowdy. The restaurant was very warm, like too warm. We got to the counter, first I had to find me a beer, then looked over the menu. I had been craving a roast beef sandwich, my craving continued. I got that sandwich and boy, what a disappointment. The French dipping was lukewarm warm, no flavor. The roast beef was tasteless. The only thing they got right, was that I asked for lightly toasted bread, and that was one point. Maria got the chicken Parmesan, that looked great. She always gets the better dish, one day I'll let her order for me. The portion was good, it is served on some spaghetti. I didn't try it, cause I was trying not to cry over my sandwich,. My son got a pizza and wings. They looked good, but I really wanted a roast beef sandwich and I wanted to make sure I ate mine, before I got anything else. The bar has a decent selection of beer on draft, plus they have a great big cooler, that used to be stock with beer, but it was about a quarter full of bottle and can beers. Decided to try a new pizza place for dinner on a Friday evening. Called in the order for take-out. Our order was complete and ready at the time they specified. We got a thin-crust pizza Italiano. The ratio of pepperoni, sausage, black olives, onions and mushrooms was perfect. I would have liked the crust a bit crispier, but it sure did not stop me from eating two slices and having it again on Saturday as left-overs! We also got a couple orders of cheesy garlic bread- wrapped perfectly to retain heat for takeout. We also tried the rosemary and parmesean cheese fries. French fries were tasty with a very nice spicy ketchup. They have a very extensive menu - I'm sure there is truly something for everyone. They have the best pepperoni pizza anywhere in SA, BUT. My grandson's cheese pizza was excellent as always but I have few words to describe the second pizza. We used to frequent the Monday specials almost weekly. Our last visit was actually yesterday, Tuesday, 2/24/26. While the food is good the actual in house dining is compromised by the constant sewer/grease trap smells that permeate the dining area. Not sure how frequent the grease trap is cleaned, however, its obvious some grease spills into the sewer system and contributes to the offensive smell in the dining room. read more

I am a longtime resident of the area. Pizza Italia has been very consistent in quality, portions and flavor! Family owned businesses seem to attract the "Karen's" of the world. Hence many of the negative comments are more about disagreements than about the meal. Here you will get a great pizza pie, Stromboli, spaghetti, lasagna or the Hero... My family loves the Mama Mia. Factor when we ordered the Monday night special That was very delicious. The chef salads were right on spot, and the pizza was very delicious. I am not a big fan of red sauce, and it proved to be terrific, because it was just enough red sauce to make the pizza very tasty.
