This is how much the dress still need to come in!

This is the first time that I have ever had such a poor experience with a business that I felt it was necessary to leave a review. I had my wedding dress altered by fragile fit alterations and the whole experience led to many sad tears. When I first brought my dress in, I felt a sense of uneasiness. It is difficult to explain what I mean but I think it was number of things including the amount of confidence that Darcy had when pinning my dress. It is good for a seamstress to be able to assure you with confidence that the work can be done, but they should also be realistic with the difficulty. I remember asking Darcy how difficult the work would be and she replied "for someone like me who has been doing this 30+ years it's easy, but you definitely wouldn't be able to do this." I wasn't asking her to tell me that she (as the seamstress) could do it better, I just trying to get an understanding of the work involved. The visit didn't feel very personal. It felt very much like I was just another girl with a dress that she was trying to collect money from and send me on my way. I also thought it was super strange how I had to pay the entire cost upfront on my first visit. I should have said something at this point but I don't like confrontation and I honestly wasn't sure if that's how it worked at other bridal alterations places. (I later found out that this is NOT typical.) As I was leaving my 1st visit, we scheduled a 2nd visit. I remember asking, "do I need to schedule a 3rd visit?" And Darcy pretty much said "we will see." (I later found out when going to another seamstress that my dress needed to be altered in stages so it was also a red flag that only 1 appointment was setup to pretty much see if my dress was good enough to go. When I came back for my 2nd visit (over a month and a half later), I tried on my dress and remember feeling like the bodice area had barely been taken in. However, I was not vocal about this like I should have been. Instead, I thought in my head "well maybe it isn't that bad." I didn't have anyone with me, and I didn't speak up about this concern like I should have. I ended up taking my dress home that day. Before I left, Darcy made me sign a form saying something along the lines of "I am happy with my dress and I understand that if I change my mind I might be responsible for additional costs." This is definitely where I should have spoken up and said that the bodice needed to come in more, but I truly didn't know how bad it was until I tried walking around in it and when I went to a second seamstress. I also felt nervous and signed the form. I ended up trying the dress on at home the next day and walked around my house a little bit and the realized that there was NO WAY the dress was going to work in the state it was in. It is a strapless dress and was falling down completely. I panicked at this point knowing that I had signed that form at fragile fit. I had already paid fragile fit ~$700 and I wasn't sure now what the additional costs would be since I signed that form. I also felt nervous to go back because I thought in my head "surely a professional seamstress should have known the dress was still too big." While it definitely was my responsibility to say something, I think as a seamstress they should have a pretty good idea what work needs to be done without the person having to tell them (especially if it is as obvious as a dress falling down) I ended up calling the number for fragile fit, but like usual, they didn't answer and they specifically say with the voicemail, "do NOT to leave a message." I ended up texting the fragile fit number and emailing Darcy that I needed more work on the dress. She responded a couple hours later saying "let's get you back in." However, it wasn't until the next day that she gave me a date and time off when to come back. By this time, I had already reached out to second seamstress and went in for a 2nd opinion. (This was because my wedding was a month away and I was getting nervous about the timing.) The 2nd seamstress told me how she thought maybe I was exaggerating on the phone about the work that still needed to be done, but she understood when she saw the dress on me in person and said "I can't believe the previous seamstress let you leave like this." She also pointed out other details about the dress that were done portly such as a "bubble" that formed when the lace was restitched to hem and how the tule wasn't evenly cut. She measured how much still needed to be taken it in the bodice and it was almost 4 inches! (~ 2 on each side of the zipper as you can see in the picture). I also attached an image with the bubble and the uneven layers.

Darcy did an amazing job altering my wedding dress! She and her assistant, Shelly, created a very nice experience for me as well. She cared about my story, and offered her expertise about styling ideas. They were both extremely helpful and positive! Darcy did excellent work, was quick as my wedding dress came right before my wedding, and was accommodating to my schedule. The price point was very reasonable for the amount of work she did and in comparison with other alteration places. I can't say enough good things about my experience at fragile fit! You would be making a mistake to go elsewhere! Thank you, ladies, for being a part of my wedding story forever!!!

TLDR: BRIDES, RUN FAR AWAY. AS FAR AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN. I've had this review drafted but put off posting it for 2 years, hoping time would give me perspective. I hate posting 1 star reviews. Unfortunately, I still remember this nightmare vividly. I purchased my dress at a sample sale in March of 2021 at I Do Bridal in Greenwood. Darcy was their on-site alteration person, providing estimates and services. I ended up going with her because the estimate was reasonable and I didn't have the time or energy to visit a bunch of alteration shops. Darcy took my dress back with her, and we scheduled a fitting for June. By my first fitting, Darcy already had my dress for over 2 full months, and the only thing she did cut open the back and pin down straps. She did some measurements and sent me off. My second fitting had me really nervous. I should have taken my dress and walked out the door, but I was a grad student with a wedding budget. She cancelled my last fitting and finally rescheduled it to 3 days before my original wedding date. The dress was still pretty loose and the bust felt a bit weird/low, but with my bridal party hundreds of miles away, I took Darcy's and her assistant's word that this was how the dress was supposed to fit. (brides-to-be: never go to fittings alone!) I tried to remain optimistic and took it home. When I had my photo, hair, and makeup trial the next day, my photographer and HMUA were appalled by the state of dress and strongly advised me to find someone else to fix it. They needed to pin it in the back for my trials, and it was over 2" too big around the bust and waist (see photo). I'm not sure why I bothered reaching out to Darcy with the photo and expressing my concern. She explained it was complicated dress. I agree it was a complex dress, but that doesn't mean I was fine with paying her to do a shoddy job. Darcy offered to fix it, but she had already had my dress for over 3 months at this point. What more could she possibly do and why wasn't it done before? That was a hard pass. I was ready to trash the dress and wear my engagement photo dress, but luckily I found someone in downtown Seattle who could salvage the dress in the short timeframe. It turns out it was in even worse shape than I thought. The dress was large and kept falling, the hems were unfinished, layers were short and uneven (requiring me to buy new wedding shoes with lower heels), and the buttons in the back were completely crooked. I'm glad my wedding was pushed a little (for unrelated reasons) and that I hadn't mentioned it to Darcy. I would've been a complete wreck if I had to deal with this 3 days before my wedding.

Came here to get my wedding dress altered, and it was a very no fuss experience. You make your appointment, try on the dress, and then come back a few weeks later to pickup (each of my appointments was only ~15 min). Darcy did a great job on my dress, and her craftsmanship is not a question at all. Her prices are also the best you'll find. The owner and her helpers were lovely people - the only comment would be that for those like me (who always arrive early) the door was always locked and I never saw someone inside until the exact time of my appointment. Again, not really a negative since it's probably a security precaution, but a doorbell might be nice to be able to use or at least tell people not to come early!

Replaced my too-tight zipper with a gorgeous and comfortable corset back!

Darcy was amazing to work with and perfected my bridesmaid dress! I highly recommend her! She turned my too tight zipper in the back of my dress into a gorgeous cross-cross corset-like back. I needed the bottom of the dress hemmed as well and she used the extra material to create a beautiful ribbon to use to tie up the back of the dress. She's fun and lovely to work with. So grateful my grandma recommended her - she's been having alterations done by Darcy for many years!

Before photo from my wedding in 1994.

Darcy was just amazing! We came to her to see if she could take my old wedding gown from 1994 and alter it into a going away dress for my daughter. She truly caught the vision my daughter had. And it was all done over FaceTime with my daughter living in Oklahoma. When she came to town, we had a fitting and made a few adjustments. I could not be more pleased with how it turned out. Darcy is a true artist but also really listens to her clients. I also used her for my MOB dress and a few years ago for my older daughter's wedding - the bride's wedding dress, the maid of honor dress and my MOB dress. I highly recommend her. Attached are some before and after shots of my wedding dress and the transformed going away dress. :)

Darcy was absolutely wonderful! She was always extremely professional and made me feel like the star of the show. Her alternation work is incredible! I have no idea what she did but when I tried my dress on after alterations were complete, it was gorgeous! I bought a couture dress so I really was relying on a professional to do my alterations and she nailed it! I would definitely recommend her to ANY bride!

I got my wedding dress altered with Darcy 7 years ago and she did an absolutely gorgeous and fast job making several changes including changing the zip back into a beautiful lace up back and creating from scratch a tiny and delicate lace jacket to cover my shoulders in my strapless dress while in church. Then just recently I reached out to her again to ask if she would alter two special occasion maternity dresses for me for maternity pictures. She was so kind to squeeze me into her ver busy schedule working on bridal dresses. My dresses turned out perfectly! Plus she is a joy to work with.

    Look at the back. Horrible

We were referred to FF by the bridal salon and with all the pandemic issues we were thrilled to have someone available. I read the reviews and so was cautious. I should have been more careful, and checked their work. They bustled the gown in the wrong manner - we had requested under bustling but she did it over the gown, which hid all the detailing in the back. And once we put the gown on the bride, there were bustle loops we could have used had they been placed right after the hem was shortened. And hours before the ceremony when the bride stepped in the gown we discovered one whole layer - the most important one that had the horsehair hem - still had the pins in it but hadn't been sewed. There was no way to fix it. We had to remove the pins - they were extra long - or the bride would have been stabbed. But it made the layer too long, it dragged on the ground and got torn when people stepped on it. A $5,000 gown and one whole piece is ruined.

Fragile Fit alterations made my dress more me!

The selection of the dresses is huge and you can view their catalogue online, which was really nice to do in advance. The staff was very friendly. I prefer having the freedom to browse on my own, but the assistance and suggestions were also helpful! She really took the time to listen to my likes and dislikes. Initially, I was SURE I knew what I wanted, after multiple failures and not really liking the way things looked on me, the stylist convinced me to try on basically the opposite of what I *thought* I wanted.... it looked incredible. I spent more time driving to this appointment than I did in the actual store. When I arrived there was no discussion of budget even though the initial booking form asked for it. This was my third time shopping for a dress and the consultant looked surprised and commented that that was a lot. It's fine to have that opinion but the way she expressed it came across as judgmental. If I'm going to be spending this much money on a dress for my wedding, I think I'm entitled to take the time to find one that I truly love. I showed stock images of dresses I liked and she asked me if I had any photos of dresses on me. I thought this was strange as I obviously hadn't found one that I liked enough which is why I was showing inspiration photos of what I wanted to see. Of the four dresses they showed me, the one I liked best ended up being over my budget when I asked. After the fourth dress, the consultant left to sit at the front desk without offering any guidance on next steps. I had to prompt her and ask about ordering, timelines, and potential alterations. By that point, I felt so unwelcome and neglected that I decided to leave, despite seeing other dresses on the racks I was interested in. Even if I had found a dress, I didn't want to deal with the unfriendly consultant throughout the process or give them my business. This place might be better suited for someone with a clear idea of exactly what they want, rather than someone looking to explore. We had asked if we could open champagne and we were met with a comment of "yes, but please keep yourself modest" in which I replied it was non-alcoholic champagne. We were strictly asked to not touch any of the dresses, but if I saw something I liked she would pull it for me. I was thinking to myself how am I going to find a dress if I can't even touch the hanger to see the dress. The dress try on experience was fine. I am a size 0 and all the dresses were size 16. So really hard to get a sense of whether the dress would be comfortable or not due to the breast size and corset size. When asked what my hesitation was in regard to settling on a dress I let them know it was hard to tell what dress was a good fit, which then turned into a cold call sale experience. I asked if I could come back to try on again and she said I would need to give her a $50 deposit non refundable in order to book another appointment. They do not do online orders, and are closed until 1/3/26. At that point I walked. It was a very uncomfortable experience, not warm, and I felt like they were obligated to help me. Not being able to touch the dresses really was the cherry on top.

Kita however was still on my mind so I decided to make an appointment and boy am I sure glad I did. Kita just has it, there's something so special about her and her boutique. She made me and my girls feel so comfortable and welcomed. I walked in to country music playing because she asked my girls my favorite type of music. She had hot tea and water, a kiosk where you can pull up dresses, your style, your venue, anything. We literally walked outside after our appointment and all said we love her! She doesn't hover over you or make you feel pressured into buying something. She says I'm here as much as you need me so you say the word and she'll be right there to assist you. One really cool thing is she takes the time to sanitize the dresses between each appointment. Kita hands down topped the other two places I went. Like I said she just has the magic touch! I will recommend her over and over. Side note, she's also an event planner! I booked my wedding planner but if I hadn't already, Kita would definitely have been my choice. That wasn't professionalism -- it was hostility. She knew exactly why I was asking, and rather than respond respectfully, she went out of her way to inject her political bias and make me feel unwelcome. I fully understand that people have different viewpoints about this difficult time and the conflict in the Middle East -- but there is absolutely no excuse for taking it out on customers or for treating anyone this way. What I experienced today was unacceptable, offensive, and frankly disgusting. Let's call it what it is -- antisemitism. Singling out Israeli designers and speaking to a Jewish customer with such contempt is discrimination, plain and simple. There is no place for that kind of behavior in any business, especially one meant to celebrate love and joy. I left feeling hurt, angry, and deeply disheartened. Idina Bridal should be ashamed of how their staff behaves. If you believe in kindness, respect, and standing up against antisemitism, do not support this store. The associate (Selena) was very helpful and was mainly in charge of my appointment, but the other woman working with her (I think it was owner, Nadine) was very pushy and kept interjecting into our appointment. Should be noted that this review is solely based on how Nadine treated me, not Selena. A few things Nadine did really made my experience a very negative one: 1. Although my appointment was in March and I did NOT want a custom gown, Nadine immediately told me my wedding in December timeline was "tight" and "probably not possible" before I even tried my first dress on. It should be noted that when you make an appointment, you fill out when your wedding is. If my timeline did not suit the business' timeline, then I would have appreciated a call witht he concern prior to the appointment. I believe this was really an attempt at creating a false sense of urgency. 2. Nadine kept popping in and out of my dressing room even though she was helping another bride during the same time, suggesting dresses I had absolutely no interest in trying on. She kept pushing a style that I corrected her multiple times saying I did not like. She continuously pushed the style of dress (poofy ball gown - she was insisiting every for fitting dress I tried on should have an ugly tool overlay over it) and veil (a cheap pearl veil that looked like it was from the dollar store). Poor Selena would put me in a style I liked only to have me stand on the floor and have her come over immediately with these items after I repeatively said no. 3. There was one dress that Selena was having issues zipping and I think Nadine hear us chatting about it, burst into the dressing room (while I was half dressed) and said "that dress will NEVER fit her. You'll need at least two sizes bigger and we definitely dont have that". Extremely rude and beyond inappropriate. The last few points are not completely related to Nadine, but I recieved multiple calls the day of saying that they would not have the proper staffing and wanted to move my appointment, even tho I made my appointment 3 weeks in advance. I was open to being flexible at the time and they did eventually end up accomodating my original appointment, but since I have now shopped around I realize this is a completely unprofessional request. The store in UVillage is also dated and not very well kept, although they do have beautiful dresses. It was also a little unnerving showing up to my appointment early only to have to wait because there was a group of teenagers prom appointment running over. While Selena was very nice and we definitely vibed, Nadia made me so uncomfortable that I cancelled my follow up appointment and was afriad to go back. I ultimately decided I do not want to give this store any of my business based on how I was treated. I was not going to leave any reviews because I did really appreciate Selena, but I got an email this morning asking me to write a review (addressed to "Hi %NAME%," - how personal!) so here we are! TLDR: I'm sure they have some beatiful dresses, but unless you have the exact same taste as the owner and are a body size she deems respectable, just go somewhere else. $35 is not worth you mental health and friday afternoon.

I got to work with Kirstie for the first time a couple months ago. I'm a wedding DJ, so I come…read moreacross my fair share of wedding planners. Kirstie is exceptional at keeping all the ducks in a row without being overbearing or micromanaging. As a vendor, I really appreciate that. As far as how she gives her clients what they want, never once did the Bride and Groom have "Deer in the headlights" face. That means Kirstie made sure the B&G were fully educated on what to expect. Kirstie is awesome, and I look forward to referring her, and working with her in the future! :)

I highly recommend hiring Kirstie of Simply Wed!…read more Kirstie was the "day of" coordinator for my wedding at the Golden Gardens Bathhouse in July 2012. She went above and beyond the "day of" role and was the best money we spent on our wedding. We communicated frequently the months leading up to the wedding, she ran our ceremony rehearsal the night before, and she worked a 15+ hour day the day of the wedding making sure everything was just how I envisioned it. She also provided a wedding day timeline and contacted vendors for me, among many other tasks I don't have room to list here. I was a type-A (read, anal) bride with a very clear vision and a tiny budget by Seattle standards ($15,000). Kirstie was extremely professional, prompt, and easy to work with before the wedding and during. Although she was planning many weddings at one time, she made me feel like mine was the only one. I picked out several of my vendors myself becuase I knew exactly what I wanted, but Kirstie gave suggestions for the ones I didn't have, and they were all amazing! She has great connections. The set-up for my wedding was tough. There is nothing at Golden Gardens so everything had to be brought in and set up the day of (and taken down and cleaned, which Kirstie did). I also had a lot of DIY details that I wanted arranged a very specific way. Kirstie and her crew worked a crazy, long day arranging flowers, setting up tables, hanging decor, getting everyone in order, etc. Your wedding day is such a blur that you need to spend time enjoying your guests, your new spouse, and just enjoying the moment. You don't want to worry about decor, music, food, etc. You will not be disappointed with Kirstie - she can do as much or as little as you want and need depending on your budget and vision.
