We just returned from a Christmas trip to Snowbird, Utah and my first skiing after two partial knee replacements (I'm only 51!). They went above and beyond and were super helpful. I'm not from here and was in town to try snowboarding with some buddies. I purchased a board from online and they didn't come with the proper hardware to attach bindings. After trying a bunch of shops in the area with nobody able to help, Fox Chapel Ski and Board took the time to find a solution for me and get the job done. High hopes were had. Poor service was received. After seeing Fox Chapel Ski and Board on Groupon a few months ago, I thought that $22 for a full tune-up (including stone grind, edge work, base repair, waxing and so on) was a sweet deal. Little did I know, I wouldn't get much for my $22... that included a poor explanation from the owner as to why they burned the clear PTEX they used to repair my neon green bases and why some parts werent even repaired. After picking them up and getting that poor explanation, I thought they would at least ride well. Wrong again. Took them out for an easy day at 7 Springs and to my amazement, there was no wax on the bases after a few runs. That leads me to believe two things. One, they didn't stone grind. This would have helped them retain the wax they said they would put on. Two, they did a bad job of waxing. Pretty basic stuff was overlooked. Turns out I will never go there again. I wouldn't trust them to fix their mistakes and I won't recommend that anyone take a chance with their services. (as a note, the people at Willi's @ 7 Springs gave me a free wax. they are very nice there and know what they are doing) read more

This place has everything. Top of the line skis, baselayers, gloves, goggles, midlayers, at prices better than anywhere I've been. They carry great brands like Patagonia and Helly Hansen. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and the service is great. Usually only takes 1 day to have skis repaired/ waxed/ sharpened or to have bindings mounted on new skis. This is a small family-owned business, and although I've only been here once, the service was friendly and the staff seemed knowledgeable. The father sharpened and waxed my skis for me, and the son helped my girlfriend purchased new ski boots. Compared with the other ski shops I've seen around town, this one seemed more honest and I will definitely return in the future. My fiancé and I are novice skiers who recently developed the interest to become more involved. After a lot of research and time spent at many shops, we stumbled upon fox chapel ski and board. The owner and the rest of his employees were so helpful and were willing to answer our many questions no matter how ridiculous. I even had a boot sizing issue and they were willing to help resolve said issue free of charge. I would recommend anyone to this shop no matter skill level! On a side note...I don't know if Never Summer ever recognizes ski & board shops, but if you do, Fox Chapel Ski & Board just outside Pittsburgh, PA is fantastic. I had never been there but when I went to your website and put in dealers within 100 miles of my zip code only five or so popped up. I called all five. Still waiting for return calls from two. And of the three I talked to Gerry at Fox Chapel hands down had the most knowledge. You've got a good one there! He even said we get a free tour of the factory if we're ever in Denver...I look forward to that day! The service department went that Extra Mile and More for me. The New Atomic Boots that were on sale (2 Buckle) very nice-- left boot-- pressure point on my left outside portion of foot. The Service Tech fitted me three times with various fixes until it was right for me. Very Patient and tenaous. Now the adjustment is right and I can completely enjoy the new boots! I've purchased both in-store and online. Customer service is always excellent with knowledgable staff that is never too pushy. Was fitted for a pair of boots (ended up having them molded to address some fitting issues) and they were so comfy I sent my wife to get a new pair as well.
