Awful customer service. Manager was rude. Place was understaffed. Long lines. No equipment to rent.

So overall I had a great experience with the boot fitting, but wish the rental options were more plentiful and flexible.

Next we were looking for a pistol for me. I explained to Dave that I tried shooting a Remington 380 and it was too difficult for me I don't have the strength in my hand to squeeze the trigger. He showed my husband and I, a Smith & Wesson 380 and truly educated me and taught me how to properly handle my new pistol. So my husband purchased me my new Smith & Wesson. Btw I was thrilled and so happy. This review is truly about Dave, what an amazing salesman who spent the time needed with me to want this gun. Because I felt comfortable and learned gun handling and safety I want to say "thank you" to Big Buck for hiring a truly awesome employee who cares and listens to the buyer. You're lucky to have Dave on your staff.

The store is a little high. But the good thing is they have everything you need or want. And the store stands behind everything that they sell. The only bad thing is I wish I still lived in Wexford Pa. I love Pa but had to move south when my Wife and I retired because of health issues. But at 73 years old I still go back home every year to go Deer hunting. Pa has the best hunting out of every state. I believe Big Buck opened before 1980 because my Wife bought me a Colt Defender 380 for an anniversary present. And I think every time you bought anything in Big Buck you got points that you could use to buy something in the store. I highly recommend Big Buck . A Vietnam Veteran.

They carry something for the whole family, even the dogs! Highly recommend stopping in before your next adventure or just to browse around. They have many weekly and monthly events for the community. A fire pit out front that makes a great hangout spot to eat and grab a bottle from next door. They host film fests and special annual events like a chili cook off, 5 points adventure film fest, a gear swap and so much more!

They sell both new and used outdoor equipment, as well as maintain a calendar of various community events that people can and should take advantage of. On their website the group talks about being particularly focused on helping Pittsburgh climbers, hikers, bikers, runners, campers, paddlers, and "outdoor adventure lovers." Obviously that last bit is pretty general, but I find the statement helpful overall since it does a great job of summarizing what kinds of gear you'll find at their shop. No matter your experience level, you're welcome here, as the staff want to help people of all experience levels explore and access different outdoor activities. In other words: this is the perfect place to browse and ask questions that can help you best prepare for your next/new adventure. In addition to operating a storefront, the 3 Rivers staff also regularly coordinate outdoor events and activities that people can sign up for. Naturally some activities are more seasonal than others (looking at you, kayaking!). Others happen year-round, including monthly night hikes in Frick Park. It's a shame this shop is currently so far out of my way, because if I was closer I'd probably stop in more often, even if only to take advantage of their community fireside hours. Still, it's great that they're here in the city at all - and it just makes my rare visits that much more delightful and special!
