I read the reviews and was immediately excited. I headed down to pick up a gift for my brother and got the most exceptional service I've ever had in a skate shop. I was guided into all kinds of selection facets like board- to foot -sizing, durability and styles of various products, and ongoing maintenance. The gentleman behind the counter said he had been skating for something close to 20 or 30 years (I think). I was ready to acquiesce to his recommendations. No pushy sales, just great, thoughtful advice from an experienced skating veteran. While I was waiting for my parts to be constructed into a board, I browsed the store, which had all kinds of cool shirts, shoes and outerwear gear. I picked up a couple of shirts as gifts, including one that read "Wassup Haters." My brother loved the gift, and it has helped him improve his skating Bottom line: Awesome service, expert knowledge, great merchandise selection. Everyone was so helpful and kind. The workers here really have a love and passion for skateboarding that makes all the difference. I am excited to come back every Sunday for womens & trans skate night or Mondays - adult skating. Their prices are comparable to online retailers, and slightly lower than other brick and mortar shoe stores (this is a bike shop that just so happens to carry cycling shoes). I understand "policies" but maybe there could be further consideration for the parents that are required to be there. Skate Castle doesn't charge adult spectators. - Skate floor can get a bit overcrowded - Adults of children/adults skating with their younger children skating around extremely fast at times and others getting run into/knocked down - Concessions are a bit on the higher side ($3.50 for a small slushie) My kids ended up having a blast which offset the higher prices of all the things, but I'm not so sure that we'll be going back here too often.
