We are both African American, and the behavior of the employees felt prejudiced and unnecessary. We entered the store fully intending to purchase fragrances, but left feeling disappointed and unwilling to spend our hard-earned money in an environment where we felt judged rather than welcomed.

The top level contains merchandise for men, children, and home, and the bottom level contains merchandise for women. I focused on the women's clothing. I saw an assortment of shirts, pants, shorts, dresses, coats, and other apparel that previous retailers could not sell. I recognized brands such as Calvin Klein and Nike, but I had not previously heard of some of the other brands. I thought that the prices were low to moderate. I decided to purchase a pair of UnionBay shorts for $23. The cashier quickly and correctly rang up my purchase.

It truly also feels like they just plot a store into an empty spot in a strip mall, and it never took the time to make any physical updates to the space itself. The bathrooms are disgusting. If you want a cheap place to find athletic gear, this is the place, but be warned that it really is just shoes and clothes. You'll still have to go elsewhere for your sporting equipment.

Nothing really caught my eye, and it didn't seem like prices were any cheaper than usual, I don't know, maybe they were. Admittedly, I am not a very big shopper. Off the clearance racks, I chose a pair of pants and a skirt, both of which I really like, for a total of $50, which I thought was a good deal. I waited in the checkout line for a few minutes. The cashier asked me for my phone number. For some reason, LOFT's computer system had my old phone number from over 11 years ago. The cashier accurately processed my transaction, and she told me to have a great day.

I know how it is to work in a shoe store, so I knew all the tricks the associates were using. But who could turn down a compliment? Boosted my ego for the day. Another thing I find a little irritating is the ratio of employee to client--it's just about 1:1 ratio. Lots of bored teenage employees hovering around in your way or looking too cool for school to go and find your shoe size. Honestly, in a store this small I don't see why they felt the need to have 4-5 employees on the floor. All in all, come to this place for a good deal on a street wear shoes, but don't plan to feel comfortable whilst doing it.
