This is a charming little establishment, serving a combination of greek and italian food items on the menu. I ordered for takeout at the bar this past Sunday, and staff was incredibly friendly. The vibe in the restaurant felt like a family atmosphere, both classy and casual, with several tables inside as well as bar seating. I ordered a gyro pita (no tzatziki) and a slice of the chicken alfredo pizza, and it was ready in just 5 minutes! What's more, the taste was phenomenal. The gyro pita was stuffed with flavorful meat and fresh tomatoes and red onions. It was quite satisfying. And the pizza slice (cut in two pieces) was large in size, made with a thin crust, and topped off with a tasty combination of alfredo sauce, mushroom, chicken, and a good amount of melted cheese. And I appreciated that the garlic wasn't overpowering. Overall, I was really impressed with the place and happy with my recent experience. I'm glad I ordered extra to save some of these delicious bites for later.

This spot just opened in June 2025. It's on the smaller side... probably seats around 20 people at tables inside, plus about 10 more at the counter and bar, with a few outdoor tables out front on the sidewalk. The place was very clean, and the staff was welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked in. We stopped by for a quick lunch, and I ordered the meatball sub with fries. No photo this time. I dove in before thinking about it. The sandwich was really good, though it could've used a little more marinara. Still, very satisfying overall. One thing to note: there aren't any table settings when the food comes out. We had to ask for napkins, condiments, and salt and pepper, but the staff brought everything right over without an issue. I wouldn't necessarily make this a go-to spot for a long dinner with friends, but for a quick, casual lunch, it definitely does the job.

Spaghetti Puttanesca (16) no tomato?

Fournos opened earlier in the year where Rubiano's was. Structurally similar, some new decor added. Same free private parking lot at side. Menu is literally a mix of pizza, Greek & Italian eats. Separating them would have enabled a better dining experience. Starters mostly Greek, sandwiches, salads a mix of Greek & Italian. pizza the same. Pasta was Italian. Xmas songs & decor. 2 flatscreen tuned to sports. Bites: Spaghetti Puttanesca (16) 9 minutes wait. -2 small wedges of bread to soak up the House Marinara sauce which lacked tomato coloring and taste. -spaghetti has the right Al dente chew, the olives added too much saltiness with some help from the unseen anchovies. -capers added a tart finish. Though cheese wasn't mentioned, i tasted some form of cheese on my fork. 3.5 stars semi-worthy:YMMV quality: difficult to access. Some ingredients missing. Quantity: ok Doubtful repeat. Menu isn't "clear".

Chicken pesto - super cheesy and delicious
Jill B.

Our server was very nice (I think he was also the owner) and recommend the chicken pesto special of the day so I ordered that. The restaurant was clean and inviting. We got the Saganaki and it was flaming and delicious! Everyone enjoyed it from my girls 9&11 to my mom. My husband ordered the Italian job pizza and a Greek side salad. He said the salad was good and the pizza was flavorful and tasted great. My chicken pesto sandwich was also delightful. I liked the cheese and pesto with red peppers and the chicken was cut up into pieces rather than being a big chunk. My mom got a salad and a gyro and she liked them. My girls got ziti noodles with Alfredo and cheese tortellini with pesto. Both were quite tasty. Overall, it was a great spot for a quick lunch. We were able to sit quickly even with a party of 5 and all the food came out steaming hot and tasted great. Since I live out of town now, I'll have to put it on my list of good places to eat when we come back to visit.

I've been a little curious about Fournos since it started popping up on Yelp. At first, I thought it was more of a pizza restaurant since there were a lot of pizza pictures on Yelp, but they offer a lot more than that. My partner and I decided to give Fournos a try and it was a satisfying dinner. I'm glad is now an option around the area! We ended up getting: 1. Garlic Fries - Freshly fried fries are delicious! And with a sprinkle of garlic and some parmesan (which mostly went to my partner since I avoid dairy where I can)? Can't go wrong with that. The amount of fries they gave was generous! 2. Dolmades - I had expected these to come out cold or room temperature, but these came out nice and warm. It was a pleasant change to what I expected. The filling was warm, and the outer leafy layer was a soft bite. 3. Avgolemono Greek Soup - They offer this in either a cup size or bowl size and I hadn't anticipated how big of a size these would be. We ordered a bowl size thinking this would be a small shareable dish, but this was a whole entree to me. It was delicious. A little thick. A little lemony. The rice was great comfort for a cold day. This was probably my favorite of all the dishes we got. 4. Gyro Pita - I only ate a third of this because of how full I was from the other appetizers. They really stuffed the pita with gyro. And the gyro was great - nice, thin, flavorful slices and not dry. I think the yogurt sauce is a great addition, but I normally don't eat dairy, so I left it out. It would certainly provide a refreshing, herby taste to the mix though. 5. Pasta Bolognese - My partner had this and I think portion size is hugeeeee, but overall, I thought it was okay. I wish the pasta was a little more al dente, but it was on the soft side. Service was great. Both the owner and servers checked up on us multiple times throughout our dinner. Food came fairly quick and it even looks like they have their own parking lot, which I didn't notice previously, but there's also plenty of neighborhood parking around.

Cheese Ravioli with Pesto Sauce & Parmesan Reggiano, of course.

I've been going to Fournos for a while now, and consistently have great experiences. The food is excellent, and not just "good for the area," but something I look forward to. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, it's a great place to bring family and friends. The restaurant is always noticeably clean, and the food quality is consistent. It's a busy neighborhood spot, with a great overall vibe. It's comfortable, home-like, and the kind of place you can sit and stay for a while, catch up with people, or even talk to a stranger. But the food stands on its own, so it's not just about the atmosphere, you can always rely on them for a simple to-go order.

Been coming here since 2017 and Fuornos makes a delicious Italian Job pizza! Order any of the salads, too - all served with excellent house-made dressings. Very friendly Family and Staff - ask for Effie, Jenny and Melissa! If its busy, they will comp your wine ;-) The Romaine Bleu Cheese Bacon Tomato salad is soo good. I am looking forward to the Tiramisu, Stromboli, Avgolomeno Soup and Gyros on my next visit to Fuornos - Welcome to the neighborhood!

Fournos is a truly cozy spot -- a warm, welcoming little Greek home in San Leandro and a real gem for delicious pizza and gyros. I ordered the Gardener (Housemade) Pizza and loved every bite: bright house-made sauce, perfectly balanced veggies -- mushrooms, black olives, roasted red peppers, red onions, sliced tomatoes, artichoke hearts and garlic -- all under a generous layer of Grande cheese. The crust was just right (not too thin, not too thick) and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. I've also heard good things about their tiramisu -- that'll be my next visit. Simple, comforting, and highly recommended.

Caveman Pizza
J H.

This was our first time ordering with Fournos. We picked up their 12" Caveman pizza and 6 BBQ'd chicken wings, with blue cheese on the side, along with celery stix. Wow, the pizza was scrumptious, hot and delicious, it was made with love. The wings were yummy. Ordered for pick up. We'll be back real soon to try other items on the menu. Bonus: private off-street parking.

During the week for lunch service I was able to walk in and be seated. We had the Tepsi Kufta, Falafel, and a Kofta kebab wrap. The falafel are a must. They were do fresh, piping hot, a soft in the middle. The Tepsi dishes come with a lot of eggplant sauce that is so tasty and filling, a mound of rice in the middle and 3 pieces of Kofta meat. The presentation is on point, the food is fresh and made to order (not microwaved) and the flavor mix harmoniously. My bf tried the wrap and thought it was excellent. The fries are well seasoned and crispy. Can't wait to go back!!

To that I simply have to give my respects and give them a shout out. Very calm and relaxing space. Many regulars walking in picking up take-out food. There's a very kind and soft paced table service here that just reminds me of cute and quaint bistros/cafes from the days gone by. Actual dialogue between servers and patrons, questions answered, smiles passed along. A huge gap from QR code ordering and avoidance of interaction that is trying to be normalized from here on out. We ordered a couple of bottled beers, nothing craft brewed-like, just ordinary Euro/Mexican selections. I'm not as rigid as I once was, so just a good clean lager with a meal and some water is very welcoming to me. They brought nice beer glassware and asked if we wanted it poured into a glass. Sure ain't gonna turn that down, especially since it was already there. It did fit with the nice silverware, cloth napkin and candlelit table. Yet nothing was stuffy and formal, just casual locals out for a good time. Kofta Wrap ($19/4*) This wasn't mine but I did taste a piece of the kofta kebab. Theirs is a beef/lamb mix and is well mixed, almost like a firm meatloaf texture, versus a grilled burger texture. It was a good basic kofta, spiced moderately so not strong but also not bland. The inside also has a lot of lettuce, onions and cucs with a tangy yogurt sauce. I did taste a big hint of mint in my bite which I'm assuming are big hits of herbs with the salad and not the kofta itself. And it was wrapped nice and tight with even distribution so every bite got every element. I look for that in every wrap whether a burrito, med wrap and even stuffed pitas. Beef Shawarma Plate ($20/4.5*) Pretty heavily spiced, where you can feel the texture of the warming spice paste in each bite. A little strong but at least it gave you ride to another culture. Properly shaved pieces where the meat texture was still there and nothing like processed gyro meat. Served with yellow rice and an awesome salad with a tangy dressing. I especially loved the tangy green chutney that was so vibrantly herbaceous, a mint and cilantro punch that brightened the spice ladened shawarma. And I also loved the grilled tomatoes and onion garnish on top of the shawarma, just gave it a nice chef's touch. Mansaf ($25/5*) I have never tried this but as soon as I saw it, I had to try it. I was told it was probably Jordan's most famous dish. Super tender cubes of lamb, with a touch of fat on some pieces which I love. Totally swimming in this glorious creamy sauce made of dried yogurt and tumeric. The sauce was mild (spice wise), quite tangy with a noticeable milky flavor. Served again with rice but this time topped with toasted almond slivers, which added a nice texural contrast. I was also told that this was usually made with bone-in lamb, but think they did it this way to make it more restaurant friendly, maybe even American friendly. But I was just imagining if this would have been a bone-in lamb shank, I would have loved it even more. Great dish! Still have to try their extensive kabob offerings and an assortment of their mezzes whether falafels, hummus and other dips. Lots of work yet still ahead of me, but I just know that this is gonna be a smooth and fun ride. Bet.

The location was also convenient for everyone, so it felt like the perfect place to celebrate. Food: We ordered the meze platter, lamb riblet, tuna tartar, saghanaki, beet spinach salad, and octopus. Everything tasted amazing. The pita bread came warm and fresh as soon as we arrived, which was such a nice touch. The lamb riblet was so tender, the saghanaki was great as always, and the tuna tartar became my new favorite because it was full of fresh tuna and avocado. For dessert, we had Mama's pudding and profiteroles, and both were a perfect finish. Service: Our server, Susan, was amazing. She explained the menu clearly, helped us choose drinks, and was very attentive the whole night. I told her what I liked and did not like for cocktails, and she helped me find the perfect match. We tried the spicy margaritas, Slay, and White Shadow, and they were all great. Even though it was a crowded night, the staff checked on us at the right times and made sure we had everything we needed. Ambiance: The ambiance was beautiful and perfect for a girls' night. The purple lighting, modern decor, and lively energy made the celebration feel special. Overall, I am so happy I chose Mykonos Meze for my bachelorette celebration, and I will definitely keep coming back.

Mediterranean franchise that serves up delicious gyros and fries that can get loaded with extras…read morebut beware that the extra toppings may not be proportional to their price. Nick The Greek has all the classic schwarma and kabobs you're craving for from Mediterranean cuisine with a more modern, convenient twist through their pita and plate combos consisting of standard fries as well as those loaded with generous portions of meat and sauces. As with most gyro places, the schwarma slices are the highlights and Nick The Greek has a good beef/lamb schwarma that came with crispy ends in my most recent order. The combo of fresh veggies, fries, and schwarma made each bite a hearty one. The crunch from the lettuce paired well with the soft pita bread holding the whole thing together. With each order, you're able to request add ons for additional costs but for the amount you pay, you'd expect a generous portion of the add on but it doesn't seem to be the case. A request for "extra fries" amounted to about 6 strings and tomatoes and olives were almost non-existent. Fortunately, I was able to cover most of the costs with a coupon code so it wasn't too big of a deal that there were less toppings or things completely missing. To go with my gyro, I also ordered a side of their Nick's Fries which are just fries topped with meat, sauces, and some green onions. I opted for the beef/lamb schwarma and it was certainly a meal in itself at this point. The fries still had some rigidity but because of the sauces, they were pretty soaked. The flavors were still enjoyable and the giant slices of meat made for a very filling side. I also got a cup of their strawberry dragonfruit juice and it was refreshing. A bit sweet but the tartness was good balance and quenched my thirst as I was consuming the savory meal. The staff were welcoming and quick to fulfill the order. I had ordered take out and everything was ready by the estimated time and packaged nicely - no messes by the time I got home to enjoy the meal. It definitely helped to have such a large parking lot which made the quick pick up that much quicker. For those looking to dine in, they have plenty of tables inside the shop and a few outdoors if you're keen on soaking in some sun. Overall, Nick The Greek satisfies that Mediterranean craving with their menu of pitas, plates, bowls, salads, and fries. The staples you'd expect like schwarma and falafel are made well here and the prices are reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. With their mobile app, you may earn rewards that can be redeemed for more food so if you're a frequent visitor, you'll benefit greatly! If you're looking for a quick lunch or early dinner, Nick The Greek rarely has a line and can get your food ready to go and packing in your belly in no time.

Crazy ambitious menu with pizza, burgers, wings, kabobs, wraps and many Mid East favs like falafels, dolmas, gyro and babaghanoush. I only tried a couple of items, so I do need to try a few more things eventually. Order at the counter and food will get brought out. Seems like a place popular for take-out/deliveries. On a casual lunch I was impressed by the diversity in the place, as it is downtown Hayward. Young, old and cultural garb from several cultures spotted. Service at the register was friendly, dude gave off ownership vibes. Falafel Wrap ($11/4*) Very fresh and satsifying wrap. Big, soft and puffy pita bread is filled to the brim with fresh salad-like veggies. Chopped lettuce, tomato, onions and a couple of pickled items. Stuffed also with a decent amount of fat disk of falafel and a good dousing of tahini sauce. I loved the bites for the most part as I was full without feeling weighed down for the lunch hours. The falafels had good flavor but just didn't seem as crisp as I usually prefer, didn't seem fresh out of the fryer, which the places that are known for this definitely do. I especially liked the bites more when a pickled veggie entered the bite, so I should have ordered extra...next time. Beef Kabobs ($25/4*) Got this for take-out and it was still good hours later after a reheat. Beef is in small cubes and cooked pretty well done. A bit dry but at least it was flavorful. Definitely taste more Afghan in spicing/marinade, pretty bold with lots of garlic and herbs. De Afghanan out here in the east bay is the gold standard for these types of kabobs and those are cut into bigger chunks and are juicier by a lot. Kabob plates comes with a good amount of seasoned basmati rice, a pita bread, a small green salad and a small scoop of hummus. Even tho $25 seems a bit pricey, there is enough food to justify the price. I was able to make 1.5 meals out of it with a good dinner and a small work lunch. I actually want to try a pizza here and definitely a lamb kabob. I hang out in this downtown area often, so great having another casual option in my back pocket. Yeah Buddy!!
