Recent dinner with my husband. Reason I have been going here for 30 years. Food is always fantastic and delicious! Owners Muhittin and Mustafa treat you like you are their only customers. Love this place and our go to when we want a fabulous food experience and want to feel spoiled!!

We came for our anniversary and brought our dog and luckily got a seat on their patio which was so peaceful! The service was great even though we were the only ones on the patio they did not forget about us, just was a tad bit slower. FOOD (what we ordered): - Red Sangria - Fried artichokes w/ chili lime sauce - Mixed green salad - Ribeye steak special w/ roasted veggies & potatoes - Prawns with pasta in lemon cream sauce FOOD REVIEW: Everything was great, but the entrees and the salad were over the top! We both agreed that the Pasta dish was the best pasta we've had in a LONG time! Overall we're excited to say we will be back.

Food--fabulous, tasty, and filling. Service -- amazing. The owner was fantastic. Super catering, pleasant, humble, and great charisma. Ambiance-- great tuck away vibe. If you want a little reprieve from the hustle and bustle all while getting a little taste of the quaint vacation spot vibe, this is the place. Can't wait to go again!

Arrived on a Friday night and the place was packed. We lucked out and was seated quickly . The restaurant is quite cozy. We started with drinks and the bread which arrived warmed paired with evoo and balsamic. We ordered the following: *****- kabocha special was delicious and perfect for a cold evening ****- paella w/shrimp, chicken and mussels; shareable **** - eggplant stuffed lamb; very small serving Our food arrived hot as we were seated near the kitchen. Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. She was waiting on several tables and was very hospitable. The owner was very warm and inviting. Overall, the food is $$$ for what you get and is ok for once in awhile date night. Would be pricey for everyday casual dining.

Everything we ordered was excellent. I had artichoke ravioli with lemon cream sauce that was divine. And the tiramisu was superb!

Food was delicious!! Service was excellent. Wish the portions were a tad bigger but that's probably just because the food is so tasty.

Four pieces of pasta for so much money. Terrible value. Staff and chef were very friendly but just absurd prices. Grossly overpriced.

I was so bummed to find out my favorite fast casual spot in downtown Alameda has closed its doors…read morefor good! I was in the area looking to grab a bite before heading to Southie to catch the Hawks manhandle the Niners. As usual, the restaurant that I always look to forward to visiting is Hummus Republic. Once I found some parking around the corner, I was happily skipping down the block towards the entrance, until... The place was dark, and no one was inside. I had to do a double take to make sure it wasn't one of the scheduled closed days. Sure enough, it was not. There was also no signage on the window or any mention of a vacation or emergency. It was just... closed. As I looked inside, I noticed some furniture and decor had already been removed, so I knew it was beyond the point of no return. In any event, it is indeed a dark time for me, as I frequented Hummus Republic quite often. Yes, I know it is a chain, but the nearest one that I know of now is all the way in Livermore near the outlets. Honestly, it's not completely a shock though, as this particular location was often empty, and I also heard that rent is quite high. There are also alternative Mediterranean shops in the vicinity, such as Tahina and Q's, but none of them combine the level of freshness, convenience and overall value as Hummus Republic. Although it's a lazy comparison used a zillion times before, just think of Hummus Republic as the Chipotle of Mediterranean fare. Depending on who you get serving you, portions can range from large to absolutely gargantuan. It's no exaggeration when I say that a single bowl serving is pretty much enough for both lunch and dinner. Coming from a pig like yours truly, that is saying a lot! Sadly, this exact address also seems to have a high turnover rate, as I have seen a myriad of various businesses sprout up there in recent years. Hopefully the next tenant will provide something to fill the inevitable void. RIP Hummus Republic! You will be sorely missed! The only thing that improved my mood after witnessing this sad news was watching the Hawks absolutely mollywhop the Niners. :‑D

Excellent service and impeccable meal from start to finish. Corner booth felt cozy and well lit. The owner Christos gave me his business card a few years ago and I'm so glad I came to try.
