I recently had A1 Gutters and Roofing replace my roof, and I couldn't be happier with the results…read more I found them online and got quotes from six different contractors, but I didn't choose A1 because they were the cheapest -- I chose them because of their thoroughness and professionalism. Before starting the job, they conducted a detailed evaluation of the roof and did the same once the work was complete, to make sure everything was done right from start to finish. They also brought in a licensed electrician to properly disconnect and reinstall my solar panels, and thoroughly tested them afterward to confirm everything was working correctly. In addition to the roof, they rebuilt my chimney and installed beautiful new 6" gutters -- the whole property looks fantastic. What really stood out was how flexible and fair they were during negotiations. We worked together to agree on a contract that worked for both of us, including a 50-year extended material warranty and a 25-year workmanship warranty. On top of that, they went above and beyond and threw in an extra item as a gift, which I really wasn't expecting. A1 Gutters and Roofing is professional, skilled, and honest from start to finish. I highly recommend them -- give them a call; you won't be disappointed!

A1 Gutter and Roofing in Garfield, NJ is no exception. So too have we heard and, perhaps, experienced some dishonesty among this lot. So it is significant when one discovers a contractor who is legit, trustworthy, and highly professional. Having to replace an entire roof including structural repairs of its wooden beams, new insulation, and re-bricking of the upper portion of the chimney was a major undertaking. The entire project took two weeks. It's impossible to describe just how well this job was accomplished. Picture may do it some justice. Overall, this customer is pleased beyond measure. I'd gone online and read numerous horror stories about companies that rip people off on gutter guards but I needed them desperately so I decided to bite the bullet. I called NJ Home Maintenance and scheduled an appointment for an appointment. A few short days later they arrived at the house for the estimate. They dropped off a few samples along with an explanation sheet explaining the benefits of each. I was rather surprised by the price which I consider to be more than fair. I hired them on the spot and could not be more pleased. The work performed, punctuality and communication were all without parallel. Speaking as someone who is very meticulous with the maintenance of their home, I can recommend them without reservation. Kudos much thanks.

I do not think he should have asked to use the bathroom. Also they left the back gate opened and my dog wandered out. So I not really raving about anything.

I hired Service Star Contractors to replace the cover of our chimney (chase cover). They used the wrong cleaner and left horrible stains on large portions of our chimney siding. The worst part is that the chase cover somehow turned rust brown color within a few weeks. This was stainless steel that was supposed to last forever according to their own words. How does stainless steel get discolored in this short time?? The photos speak for themselves. They claimed they would replace the cover and the siding. It has been 3 MONTHS and the issue is still unresolved. The office and Sal (the owner) do not call or follow up. When I have texted Sal directly, he has repeatedly promised "guaranteed this week it will be done" and then nothing, no follow up whatsoever. I paid for a service to be done. Mistakes can happen, but then I expect a company to take responsibility and to be honest about how and when the issue will be resolved. This is completely unacceptable and no one should ever trust this company.

Needless to say, as listed in the other reviews, no contact back with answers to my concerns of the incomplete work. Lots of false promises and excuses, including a sick family member out of state. It has been less than 1 year since they did the requested work, and the new crown is cracking all around the rim of my chimney. They never responded to install chimney caps either. I have since paid another company to come in and redo the work that I paid Service Star for. It's a crying shame that they are out here scamming people. Angi's List should also bear some of the responsibility as they referred Service Star to me. Stay away, there is no value to this company. Buyer beware.

I did mention I wanted it replaced, but they said the best thing to do was to use white silicone coating and it will stop anything. So, I said ok. They got the job done in June of 2020. It looked good, not what I was looking for, but I trusted them and I thought it was fine. They also gave me a 5 year warranty. Fast forward to Autumn of 2024, and it started leaking again. I called and said I want to use the warranty. Communication was not as great. They constantly told me they are going to troubleshoot it and get to the bottom of it. It seemed like they were surprised that the silicone didn't stop it. They did visit, but kept on saying it doesn't look like their work, but they will get a guy who can give a masterclass on finding leaks. They never returned and the warranty had expired as time slipped by. I ended up going with their competitors. The competition replaced the whole roof, found the leak in the process, and used ingenuity to prevent it from ever leaking again. DeMuro was a huge disappointment and I regret spending $4,750 with them. They did replace my gutters and I was happy about that, but they subbed that out, so not really their work.
