Hi Douglas. I appreciate your comment on my comment. I have to tell you that we did talk to someone and all they asked was if we wanted more chocolate syrup. My daughter replied, "why would I want more of something that's not good?". Not sure if you have been enjoying Four Seas for many years, but honestly the transformation is just sad. And, we were a group of 7 and each had different flavors & different orders. Not one was the way it used to be. Ice cream was OK however they lost my order and when they had me go back to the window to re-order the girl rudely took my order and then when the order was given she slammed the ice cream down on the counter very rudely and aggressively. Not sure why she had the attitude? I would not suggest going here purely because of the customer service. I could have gotten a better ice cream at DQ and for half the price. read more

Highlights: the peanut butter ice cream is awesome and creamy, deceptively so because it looks more like cookies and cream or Oreo flavor. Only flaw is that the portions of this ice cream could be a little bigger, the small and the large are not that different in size. Have been coming to Four Seas for years, and enjoy their Mocha Chip, Fresh Strawberry and Fresh Peach ice creams (among others). However, there are too many other spots on the Cape offering as good or better ice cream these days (Sundae School, Ice Cream Smuggler, Cape Cod Creamery, etc.). A major problem is that Four Seas desperately needs to invest in better ice cream chests - seems like a small thing, but the ice cream is way too soft and cones melt before you can eat them. Almost rated them a 2, except their ice cream tastes good. read more

Having seen this place featured many years ago in a documentary on Ice cream, I couldn't resist stopping by when I was in the area. Since it was a one-shot deal (I live 1,000 miles away) I tasted 8 flavors. I only found one to be excellent, but ... it was THE BEST ICE CREAM I have ever had. Ginger. It was a little soft (almost melts), which made it extra heavenly. It has actual bits of grated or shaved ginger in it. I am ruined for all other ice cream. How do they make their ice cream so light and fluffy? Seriously though--I've never had ice cream so fluffy tasting! It isn't that ice cream that you eat and feel overly stuffed after having a scoop or two. It is pretty much magical ice cream. We had the mint chip and chocolate chip and don't think that their chocolate chip ice cream is just normal chocolate chip ice cream---they take Mexican dark chocolate and melt it into the ice cream! Pretty much amazing. And this place if you show up here, be prepared to wait a little to order on hot days. This place is popular and cash only, FYI. But they have an ATM that will charge your bank lots in the bank, so just come here prepared with cash because once you are here you will want to buy lots and lots of ice cream. Even at $6 a quart, this place is a steal. You will want to buy an extra quart to take home. Trust me. This place is super cute and old school inside and they serve sandwiches here too which looked like your basic sandwich options to me, but clearly people love this place. 5 stars isn't even enough stars. This is by far, the best ice cream I ever have. My family and I have been vacationing in Centerville since I was born almost every summer, and every summer, I make the walk to Four Seas every night. Sounds a little ridiculous? Well it isn't. I'm actually going to Centerville this upcoming week, and I plan on going every single night, just like I have for years in the past. Expect a line. Expect a little craziness too. If you go at night, you will probably wait about 10-15 minutes to even give your order, but its well worth it. The staff has always been just local high school, college kids that try to get you served as quick as possible, but thats not the point, the point is the ice cream. I always go for the pistachio, strawberry, or chocolate chip cookie dough, but I'm a traditionalist. They also have ginger, coffee, and about 20 other ice cream flavors. Anything there is really good though. I can't wait to go, I might even drive over with my stuff in my car before going to the rental or the beach. Its that good. read more

Best ice cream on the Cape, might be best in the state. Not super heavy, not too light. Amazing flavors. Sundaes are simply amazing. Not to be missed if you are on the Cape. Go late at night, the lines are not so bad. You can tell a lot by a place by what they do with basic flavors. Vanilla is rich creamy and tasty. Chocolate is off the mark, not sure what to say except Christina's in Cambridge has Taza Chocolate and in comparison 4 seas is pale.. It's bad enough that Graigville Beach charges $20 to park during the week for in state cars but Four Seas and their cash only policy made us head right out of town. I'm a business owner and cash only helps only the greedy owner and not the customer. There is an atm that will charge you to get your own money (seriously). Farmers Markets and Flea Markets will accept debit cards and charge cards. Get with it Four Seas, debit cards are the cost of doing business in 2016 Also, the charm thing only goes so far-sometimes you have to put money back in the business,I got vertigo walking on those un-even floors. Overpriced and smallest ice cream servings I've encountered. Can't get multiple flavors in one cup unless you get a large. The black raspberry was lacking in flavor. The cookie dough was the worst cookie dough to ice cream ratio I've ever seen. There were a few small shavings of cookie dough, not even any full pieces. Perhaps it's the nostalgia that keeps people coming back, I'm not sure. To a degree I can tolerate the character of a run down building, it hasn't change a lick since my childhood (pun intended). Unfortunately I can't tolerate issues with a food allergy. Four Seas is unable and appears uninterested in safely serving people with food allergies. four seas ice cream is quite possibly the best ice cream ive ever had. seeing as though i'm from the north shore (except during the summertime, then i'm on the cape for the duration) i'd say that benson's (w.boxford) is stellar as well, but i'll always be loyal to a place that has cantaloupe ice cream. (don't you dare make a face, if you haven't tried it you cant judge me!!) four seas always has a line out the door, right up until closing time every night, weekday or weekend. so they only hire like honors high school students and they're so quick to move the line you wont really notice the long line once you actually get in it. also, at the end of the summer on the day (or maybe its a few days) before they close for the season they usually either start giving it away or make it seriously discounted till its gone. We just spent a long weekend on the Cape. Several friends told us we HAD to go to the Four Seas for ice cream. Well we went in on Saturday afternoon around 3:30pm and the woman manning the counter who had just waited on a small group of pretentious middle aged women who ordered "the smallest sorbet you have"..."ooohh, this is so decadent". (Just to give you an idea of their crowd) announced to us "I'm scooping the 12 flavors on the board with X's, no sundae's.no frappes" All I could think of was the Soup Nazi episode from Seinfeld. My wife and I turned and left. You want to support a business like this, that's your decision. We ended up at Katie's in Hyannis, where the ice cream was fine and the counter help couldn't have be friendlier. To you lemmings who rave about this place, you have never been to Richardsons or Kimball Farm. Homemade ice cream served up by friendly folks. read more

I love this place. Very much. I think for the rest of my life, it will bring back beautiful fond memories, of living/working on the cape with my grandmother and her best friend. We'd go here, and get our ice cream, they have both been visiting at this place for years. The owner only hires the smartest students apparently, and you can see pictures of them all from seasons past on the wall. I love this place. And how you can sit down and be waited on. It seems to me that this is a place families go for generations- and the name is built up solely because of that. The ice cream here tastes like ice cream- it's pretty standard. I love that they are a family owned place, and I love supporting small businesses. The things I don't love are 1. The line 2. Cash only 3. Can't taste or see any of the flavors- just have to choose based on name 4. I really don't think there are that many awesome flavors to try 5. Finally made it to Four Seas! Definitely worth a trip out of the way. Very creamy ice cream and delicious toppings (chocolate syrup, marshmallow, etc.). I tried a weird flavor, the Vanilla Chai, and it was amazing! I wish they had the Chocolate Peanut Butter on hand - they only scoop 24 flavors. They also won't put two flavors in a small. One of the all time best ice cream places in the US. The store (an old house) is unique. The walls are lined with old license plates bearing the name 4 seas from around the US and photos from all past employees. Hot fudge is unbelievable. Try the lunch as their lobster role is one of the best. Do not miss this if you are going to the cape. It's only open in season so go while you can. read more

$4 for a small ice cream. We went twice during our stay, and the flavors were delicious. It bothered me how there wasn't much air conditioner working so when you get your ice cream, eat it really fast!
