Four Plus 3 = Zero. Hey, Eugene math is funny. NO. Don't do it. Really. Overpriced mediocre food, incorrect banchan with no refills, no water refills, being talked down to and pestered. Here's an essay: Just ignore any rating above two unless you have more money than you know what to do with, want to order multiple meals for one person and love being rushed and not having refills. No refills of water. No refills of banchan. They have enough time to come by every 30 seconds to mess with my food, which I don't want, yet don't refill water. Snarky, condescending waiters who think they're comedians with comedy that is at the expense of the customer (psst: keep your day jobs guys). If you do go here, get the all you can eat, so that you might possibly end up not hungry. Otherwise $20-32 for 2-3 slices of meat (4oz total by my estimate), lettuce, salad, rice, some dipping sauces, and banchan. The banchan was as follows: a dish of 2 pieces of soy sauce potato (one large piece, one small), a dish of 2 one and a half inch halves of one broccoli piece covered just with gochujang in a blob, a tablespoonful of very lightly stir fried bean sprouts, and three one inch pieces of kimchi which was not fermented at all and was undersalted and was just a rice paste and hot pepper powder coated bunch of limp cabbage. With zero fermentation. That is the banchan for two people. They inform us that they do not do refills on banchan. So maybe you should bring more than one 1.5inch piece of broccoli cut in two as one banchan, for example? Then they come over and talk way too much, multiple servers asking if we know what we're doing, repeatedly try and put on the meat and shift it around (a huge pet peeve - these places always put meat on so it doesn't brown and flip it before it's browned at all and keep poking at meat when its still sticking to the grill). I repeatedly tell them that I can do it; when I do start cutting up the pork belly with scissors I get one of them coming around congratulating me loudly (- if the girls working at Evergreen can smile and be polite to people asking for chopsticks, why can't these asshats be civil to someone doing it correctly?). Same guy comes back and insists on moving the pork belly pieces, a third of which is still not eaten, off to the side of the grill and putting on the marinated rib meat ($32 for about 4oz of meat, and two big bones which has meat left on it and they whisk away instead of putting on the grill) and fiddling with it until we have soggy, unbrowned, cut up with scissors way before its browned, little pieces of meat. I'm pretty sure the korean server overhears us going ??? this is it? And he comments how it's very good quality meat, and great quality pork belly etc. Yes, I can get the same amount of black pork belly at Asian markets for $2, not $20+, and the meat part is tough, and it's 80% fat, and they almost didn't let me try and brown the pork belly and crisp up any of the fat. How's the taste? The $32 4oz of rib meat is decent with good marinade and good quality. The pork belly slabs are ok, tough, and fatty. The meat is the best part. The banchan is ok if underseasoned (bean sprouts), to good (potato), to terrible (unfermented incorrectly made kimchi, one piece of small broccoli cut in two with plain gochujang dolloped on top), to meh (salad with ??? tasteless red pepper flakes and nearly no dressing). And no refills on the very small, very low variety banchan? Incredible. We're incredibly rushed (and we eat FAST), the flame is constantly fiddled with, the snarky ass of initial server who asked us if we had been here before (we say no but we've been to lots of other koreans) then makes a snide comment about us not knowing where to get our own napkins and chopsticks, and maybe we should have listened to him instead of saying we knew what to do at a korean bbq (because fifteen years of going to them in Los Angeles isn't enough for him). Same asshat as mentioned in other reviews, Byron. Who still works here, yes. Who isn't at all the most condescending one (the korean waiter is worse), or who makes us feel unwelcome the most. Again, we were rushed, and it was 6pm on a weekday, and the place was maybe a third full. We had a 7pm movie and were worried we'd be late. Nope! Had PLENTY of time to spare. There is 15% gratuity added to the bill. For everyone, even two people, even one person. Either so you forget and get scammed for more, or because they know their service sucks and want to not risk us walking out. I'm sitting here a few hours after eating there eating cheetos, and wishing I had stayed home to eat leftovers. Do not go here unless you have zero cooking skills, are curious as to how awful the experience can get, have more money than you know what to do with or want to leave hungry and angry for. This was my first time going to a Korean BBQ and it will probably be my last. I go out to eat so I don't have to cook so I was very disappointed when I discovered I had to cook my own food. But the worst part was when I received my bill with a tip added on. Considering they did nothing but bring my food to me so that I could cook it and forgot my appetizer, $16 was a little much. And I was charged for the additional rice I requested even though I paid $30 for the all you can eat buffet. I wish I could rate this restaurant by the food itself, but this place has horrible customer service and the food are way overpriced. The first time we were there, we were recommended the Four Plus 3 Special Combo. The combo is a total ripoff. We were given 4 strips of seasoned bacon meat (with some side dishes) for a whooping price of $50!!! That is more than $10 for each strip of bacon!!! The bacon strips are alright. Worst costumer service ever! I never had an experienced in a way that I was told what to eat and how to eat. They didn't let us order all you can eat BBQ meat and their other meat menu. They did not clarify why we could not have an order of marinated beef,complete it and then have non marinated beef. I was hangry AF when someone suggested Korean bbq for dinner so we swooped into this spot with the quickness. With a group about 8 deep and no reservation, we were seated quickly and had adult beverages in hand within a few minutes. Our group opted to do the all you can eat deal, so we basically went crazy on what was definitely endless trays of meat. The restaurant was clean, the service was great and the food ample. Seems that the no AYCE for solo diners is pretty universal from state to state. First Washington and now Oregon as well. I was given a "Rules are rules" comment and then was told that the gas price for the table grill costs too much money for one person so no solo tonight. I asked how much the gas would be so I could pay a little extra for the gas but that request fell on deaf ears. The only way to do AYCE here was to pay for two people at 2 x $19.95 or wait for another solo diner to be in the same boat as me or try and be friendly and join another table that wants to enjoy the company of a complete stranger. None of the above was in play for dinner this evening. That said, I did order off the menu and had the Kim Chee Jjigae stew that was excellent and also a order of the hot plate spicy thin sliced pork. They brought out some extra lettuce leaves that were much appreciated and worked well to wrap up the thin slices and grilled pork with some of the sauces and various Kim Chee Ban Chan side dishes. The Ban Chan side dishes were a bit lacking as it was really the bare bones - Napa Kim Chee, Julienned radish Kim Chee, Lightly marinated bean sprouts, marinated zucchini and a giant chunk of potato that has an interesting soy glaze or marinade on it. They happily refilled the frequently empty dishes but never brought out any new and more traditional dishes. It would have been nice to see a wider variety especially if they went to the trouble of making their own tofu - so they say, and ferment the Kim Chee. Both small details that you don't see all that often anymore. Not sure where all the poor service comments are coming from as my experience was great as the staff was very attentive and I didn't want for anything - Water, refills on the Ban Chan and pretty much anything else I needed. Very friendly and easy going and cheerful to a fault. Next visit I bring a friend or someone off the street so I can go and pound the AYCE option on the menu. read more

I was excited to try this place as I've heard good things. We went on a weeknight, I called ahead to make sure they had a table available before we got there, and we arrived an hour before closing 7:30pm. We were told that it was too close to closing to be able to eat the BBQ portion of the menu, we then had to wait over 10 min to be seated. There were only two other people in the restaurant. We ordered on the entree menu, the number 1. Diced ribeye and number 2. Sort ribs. The food was mediocre and the service was super slow. The staff were kind but inattentive, forgetting silverware after serving us, and just not checking on us. They appeared busy and trying to go home at the close of business, 8:30pm. I would understand is we came in 20 mins before closing but at an hour we should have been able to order BBQ and not be treated like we were putting them out. Definitely not worth the $60 bill for the amount or quality of food. Disappointed and will not be going back. read more

What an interesting place to dine! I came here with a friend and we were given the choice of sit down or bbq. If you choose sit down, you order from your menu and the food comes from the kitchen as a meal. If you choose bbq you are taken to a table with a small grill in the center. There is a drawer on the side of the table with napkins, chopsticks, forks and spoons for your use. The waiter will turn on the grill and proceed your drinks. You have a menu choice of "A" or "B". The "A" choice is 2 meats. The "B" option is your choice of 4 meats. Both come with rice, veggies and dipping sauces. These options are more expensive but they are all you can eat. The waiter was awesome abs assisted us with cooking the meat as this was our first time here. We had brisket and pork belly. Our waiter put most all the meat on the grill and instructed us on how to know when our meat was fully cooked and different ways to eat it. It was very good and I enjoyed the experience. NOTE!! There is an automatic 15% gratuity added to each check.... which we didn't mind paying as the service was great!! read more

So I really wanted to like this place. I haven't had Korean BBQ for years and I was really excited. We can around 520pm on a Tuesday Evening. There was one other couple in the restaurant when we arrived. It was my daughter, her father and I. The food was good, I will say that. But the service is terrible. We were rushed through our entire meal. The waiters came over multiple times to cook our meat on the stove because apparently we weren't cooking it fast enough or correctly. We were told that we weren't even eating​ our meat the 'right way.' So yea the food was good but we were rushed so fast I couldn't really enjoy it. I usually went this place for lunch, because they have cheap good foods for lunch. But their BBQ is the real deal, 19.99 for all you can eat pork belly and beef brisket is a good deal. Plus unlimited sides, lettuce and salad. On the menu it says they charge 15% tips for BBQ. Okay, my servers were very professional and I got my refills on time even though it was busy. The staff is wonderful and friendly, and this place is very clean. We've never ordered the BBQ items, but the sundubu jjigae, the dubu jeongol, and the jaeyook bokkum (spicy daeji-bulgogi) are great. The pancheon are tasty too. The waiter said that they make their own tofu in house (it definitely tastes like it because it's soooo delicious). Incredibly displeased with my experience here. One worker did not seem happy with my party of two. He made me nervous and I made some mistakes with the BBQ. He then continued to cook the food for us and took away from our experience. Whether it was our first time there or not, he seemed rude by cooking all the food for us, telling us not to touch or flip it, and telling us when to eat. If we wanted to have someone cook for us we would have went somewhere else because we wanted the experience of cooking ourselves. He continued to hover over us the entire dinner and made us very uncomfortable. Another worker took Kimchi and put it on the other person in my party's plate without asking. For my birthday, my hubby and I decided to try some place new. I had been to Korean BBQ places when I lived abroad, but it had been nearly a decade since my last experience. We ordered the "all you can eat" beef brisket and pork belly. Our waitress dumped some of the pork on the grill, and walked away, leaving us with no utensils and no instructions. Other waitstaff were rude as well - it's not necessarily intuitive that the utensils are in a drawer at your table. Beyond that, the meat itself was bland and my rice was mushy. First review I've ever written. This place is absolutely awful. Arrived at 7:30PM and was rushed by our waiter the entire time. This is first time I've ever had a waiter lecture me on how to cook my food and make me feel belittled as a customer. He literally walked up from behind and grabbed the tongs out of my hand at one point, without asking, and proceeded to cook our meat for us. He intervened this way multiple times without warning. He took our food off our plates and cut it for us with utensils that we had been using with the raw meats, again with out our consent. At 8:35PM he turned off the tvs, music, cooking vents, and even our stove (with cooking meat still on it). He quickly placed checks on diners tables without a word (likely because he was aware that he'd be tipped 15% regardless of what we thought of his aggressive and unfriendly service). Im aware it was past the restaurants closing time, but when you pay $27 per person for a meal you expect a little more leeway and professional courtesy. read more

Um. Well. So the idea is great but we did not know we had to cook our own food. (Probably should have known this). After explaining wheat allergies and that we need gluten free...they came out with trays od gluten filled sauces but 1 was gf. Ok so that was not a big deal..but what was a big deal is that the server kept coming over and using the raw meat tongs to put salad, veggies, etc in my 81 year old mother's plate. Repeatedly we asked him not to...like ya don't mix raw beef and raw pork tongs with salad tongs...basic stuff. Ironically my mother did not get sick but 2 other people had stomach issues afterwards. There are several reasons why I give this 2 stars. The good: it was tasty food, we had the bulgogi beef, and the Korean short ribs. Both were under the "hot plates" menu section. We also had the dumplings and t He usual sides-kimchi, potato, bean sprouts, kimchi cucumbers, and rice. Their special soy sauce is good too. Overall the taste was amazing. But not over priced food worth amazing. The bad: It is WAY too over priced for 1- why type of food it is. 2- the amount of food was absolutely pathetic. There was no one really there but one other couple and we were there from 5:40-6:45. I'm not sure who here has had some good Korean bbq or not, but I've never been to a Korean place that charges $31.99 for the short ribs..and...It's TWO short ribs. That's it. You can't make the bulgogi beef either on the stovetop, it's on a hot plate. You also don't get the lettuce to make wraps if you get the hot plates. There's no all you can eat option. There's a $49.99 for two plate but it's like 3 pieces of pork strip (aka bacon), 5 shrimp and some slices of brisket. WTF. That's like 1/4 lb of meat for 2 people to share. The Korean bbq place that I love in my old town did unlimited meats (10 to choose from) for $29.99 a person. It was always busy in there and the best Korean food I've ever had. If these people don't give you more food for your money then they won't be in business very long. We literally left hungry. Both of us are in shape, we eat clean. Korean bbq is known for its massive amount of cook it yourself food. They need some specials, or a night of all you can eat or something. I personally won't be coming back here because of that, it's a huge rip off. Paying that much money for the quantity of food out weights the delicious taste of their food. Would you pay $20 bucks for a Big Mac? No, I don't think so. If you eat here that's what will happen. Moral of the story is- don't waste your money. read more

My husband and I just moved to the area and had hoped to try Four Plus Three for lunch today. We walked in at 2:35 and were told that lunch had ended at 2:30. After making a big stink about our being late, the man who "greeted" us sat us at a table and said he would serve us lunch after all. "But next time, make it before 2:30." Feeling rather uncomfortable, we left as soon as he went to get our waters. The restaurant's posted hours for today say 11:30-9:30. I could find nothing online about "lunch hours." I've worked in food service for a long time, and I t seems to me that if a restaurant is open, they shouldn't complain about customers coming in mid-afternoon. We'll try again some other time, during normal meal hours. read more
