We had a three hour layover at Phoenix Sky Harbor that turned into a four hour layover, so we decided to stop here, eat, and kill some time. We requested a booth in the corner where we could get comfortable and spread out a little. Our server was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. My son ordered the wings and they were good! my daughter and I shared a burger with fries and beer cheese. The burger was really good!!! I also had a small side Caesar salad. They had a nice selection of ales and IPAs as well. It can get very noisy inside, and not all of the tables have charging stations. Our booth did not have one, but I noticed chargers at some of the regular tables and the high top counters. Thankfully, there was no seating time limit, so we were able to relax, enjoy our food, and wait comfortably for our flight. Everything worked out very well, and we enjoyed our meal. I would definitely eat here again if I came through this terminal and had another layover. read more

We stopped at Four Peaks Brewing Company in the Phoenix Airport because it was the closest restaurant to our gate. I travel constantly for work and dine out more than most people, so it takes a lot for me to leave a review like this. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. Our table ordered two burgers and a chicken club. Both burgers arrived severely overcooked. This wasn't a case of someone preferring medium instead of medium-well. One entire side of each patty was blackened, heavily charred, and had the texture of leather. It was nearly impossible to bite through. When we politely pointed it out and asked for a replacement, our server immediately became defensive, as if we were being unreasonable. We even showed him the burger, and it was obvious how badly it had been burned. His response was essentially that a replacement would "take more time," asking if we still wanted it remade. It felt like he was hoping we'd just keep the food rather than have the kitchen cook another burger. After the replacement was ordered, service all but disappeared. The server checked on us only once, casually asking how everything was, but there was no concern, no apology, and no follow-up. Even more surprising, not once did a manager come to the table. In fact, it didn't seem like a manager was involved at all. To make matters worse, the fries were so heavily seasoned that none of us could finish them. The three of us travel together frequently for trade shows, and all of us work in the food industry. This experience gave the impression of a kitchen relying on pre-cooked food that had been sitting too long before being reheated or finished, combined with a front-of-house team that had little interest in correcting obvious problems. Airport restaurants don't have to be perfect, but they should at least serve food that's edible and respond professionally when something goes wrong. I ordered the club croissant. The bread was indeed fluffy. Ingredients were good, portion was generous, although overall flavor a bit bland. I really wanted to order the Ahi Poke and Avocado stack but they were only offering breakfast when I arrived. I would have loved to access the full menu. They only seemed to have ketchup and one hot sauce readily available when I asked, no tobasco. The tator tots were good, a tad overcooked but still great. I wasn't greeted for several minutes and really not at all. The first words exchange with the bartender were when he was taking my order, but he was nice about checking in on food quality/satisfaction once I received my food. While waiting for our flight to the Big Island I decided to get a meal. I decided to get a crsipy chicken sandwich and french fries. I ordered fries for my son who has a gluten allergy. He said it would be fine as he checked. When the food came I headed over to our gate and handed him the fries. I didn't realize it came with cheese which had spilled but before he ate it, I wanted to check if the cheese was gluten free and it wasn't. Good thing he didn't have it. The cashier quickly apologized for the mistake and provided me with a replacement. Overall, good service and the food was good! To be frank I didn't like the service here; while fast (which is great for an airport) I had an experience with one of the servers that was pretty rude. Again I chose this spot in gate area A 22 Early this time so we had breakfast. I don't remember Being here 3 years ago. The areas were all grubby, no bus boys. Waitress has to do it all. Returned my Salt Shaker with dead black bug with legs intact. No apology. The bacon was the best, toast wouldn't melt my butter pat and the potato's were square white and brown things. Positives: Beers on tap, the KiltLifter is always satisfying. Some food items are better than many of the reviews posted would lead one to believe. Nothing wrong with the fry team today, the fish and chips were very good. The pretzel burger was ok, as expected for airport food, not cooked to order but served with a hearty pretzel bun and good fries. Service was attentive and prompt, server noticed needs for second soda for my partner and extra tartar sauce for the fish. Seating is cramped along the walls but there is space at the tables for those with delay/layover to relax a little. Plenty of TVs to watch sports while you wait and the music is not too loud. Negatives: the person at the check in stand was short tempered and put out by our request not to sit at one of the cramped tables along the walls even though there was ample space at the tables in the center of the floor. read more

The potatoes were cooked well, but were completely unseasoned. The salsa verde on my enchiladas was "thick", and tasted canned. Overall, the food was what I would call "bland, but not bad", because it was edible, and they had salt and pepper at the tables. The pork poutine was not very good. It was a bit soggy. My husband really enjoyed the burger and beer. The service was quick and friendly. There are lots of games on for the sports fans. This bar is at Sky Harbor T4 and is the one I usually stop at to have a drink and/or something to eat before my flight. It's always chock-a-block full, both at the bar and at the tables. This time, with the wheelchair, I sat at the high top bench and they put the chair next to me. Most times I ask for a wheelchair because the concourse is so, so long when having a flare up of sjögrens. We had some time before the flight so decided to have a bite of breakfast: not the greatest, but it filled the hole in my stomach. The man serving our area was like a dizzying elf, with everyone all at once ordering at the same time, but he was decidedly efficient: thank you! Airports are a place I've always liked because it means I'm traveling, and it's my favorite thing to do; even with the crowds, and sometimes grumpy customers/passengers, I've always found it entertaining to people-watch. Of course the prices are commensurate with airport prices but it's a nice bar to chill at instead of sitting at the gates. The barman (Hi!) is quick and attentive to the hordes wanting drinks, and the general atmosphere is busy-but-calm, as much as a busy place like Sky Harbor airport can be. If you're on an afternoon layover in Terminal A and need a bite to eat, I highly recommend Four Peaks Brewing Company. I found this brewpub clean, orderly, and efficient without sacrificing the quality expected of a sit-down restaurant. It gets slammed around noon, but the crowd thins out enough past 12:45 PM that I was able to get immediate seating. They offer a great selection of beers to take the edge off travel stress, and I found their Four Peaks Cheeseburger and seasoned fries delicious! The best thing in my visit was the dedication of the wait staff. My waiter, Daniel, was super attentive and able to juggle, taking my custom order on the fly and nailing it. When he had a chance to breathe, he stopped by for a chat and shared with me that he chooses Sky Harbor out of all the Four Peaks locations to work at -- which I find very courageous, given the hectic industry airport restauranting must be. It's thanks to servers like Daniel that us travelers can squeeze in a filling meal, and an experience like mine is a major credit to this restaurant. read more

This location had plenty of seating options with room for luggage and had ample lighting. The bar was in the center, and had TVs on all sides. Our server was efficient and honest. We were very disappointed in the drinks and drink options. They do not have a cocktail menu but "have a full bar". Most of the beers were craft IPAs and lighter Ales. I ordered the one Stout that was on the menu and was told it has been "out for weeks and they haven't served it for a while" even though it was still on the menu. After trying to order 3 different cocktails from the "full bar" and being told they couldn't make them, I settled on a Double Captain and Cranberry. My drink tasted like old cranberry juice and had no hint of alcohol. My husband ordered the Sunbru beer. My husband's beer was nothing special and towards the end of the meal was leaving a weird taste in his mouth so he ended up leaving over 1/2 his beer untouched. For food, I had the Four Peaks Cheese Burger (add bacon, add pickles, no onions). The burger patty was large in side, but lacked seasoning. The burger was very dry (even after I added 2 packets of Mayo). My husband had the Southwest Burger. The patty was again large. He was expecting a spicy burger but unfortunately the sweet jalapeño dressing took away any spice that the roasted green chilies and the pepper jack cheese brought to the burger. On top of this, the brioche bun was also sweet bringing this burger from a spicy burger to an over the top sweet burger. The best part of both of our meals was the fries! They were crispy on the outside with a softer interior and were perfectly seasoned. I'm not too sure if I will be eating or drinking here again. For airport food, it's a solid 4. My girl enjoyed her spicy enchiladas, and I ate most of my Caesar salad with the buffalo chicken. I like that you can get the optional buffalo instead of regular chicken, and then choose baked or fried chicken. It's spicy, so be ready. I was quickly seated and my food was served within ten min...I ordered the French Toast which came with breakfast potatoes and I got a side of bacon (addt'l $4.50) on top of the $18 French Toast which is wild AF to me! It was mediocre at best, the potatoes were seasoned well but they have cut up french fries rather than breakfast potatoes. My server was attentive but I never got his name. I also didn't like the to go syrup and butter which was thrown about my plate which means someone touched them to put them there.. Germs! It's Christmas Eve so it's packed in here!
