This is an updated review as of June 2026. They now get ONE star and that's because of their technician. They charged me premium price for an Amazon quality filter, and charged me for an o ring / gasket. The tech came on Tuesday to replace what I paid for, ie a PREMIUM filter (Hayward) and an o ring. The NEXT day i noticed the filter housing was leaking ! I opened it up and noticed an OLD AND TORN o ring, and a cheap "Oncore" filter ! I was furious! I called the office and they said someone by end of day would be there to fix it. Nope. Next day i texted the tech and he said he'd swing by after work because he has an o ring at his house. I call the office and they tell me NEXT DAY they'll have someone take care of it ! Unacceptable ! I text the tech and he says "yes the office will handle it. I don't have an oring". Totally unacceptable! And its not just me - my neighbor ALSO had an issue with them. read more

Fountain Blue Pools built my pool through GL Homes, and their service department has been terrible. They repeatedly failed to show up when scheduled and mishandled multiple service issues. I had a heater problem while it was still under warranty, yet they charged me $120 just to diagnose it. Over 2.5 months and 5 service visits, they kept saying parts had to be ordered and replaced multiple components--but never diagnosed or fixed the issue. Out of frustration, I contacted the manufacturer (Jandy) directly. Jandy sent another pool company who diagnosed and fixed the problem within 20 minutes and had the necessary parts on their truck. That alone speaks volumes. Additionally, Fountain Blue installed an automatic water filler nearly a year ago for $2,900, and it still does not work despite multiple service visits and repeated claims that parts needed to be ordered. At this point, I may need to take action to recover my money. Their technicians also severely damaged my yard, costing me over $1,000 in repairs. On two separate occasions, the pool technician cleaned the filter and failed to properly tighten the belly band, flooding my yard both times. Overall, this has been an extremely frustrating and costly experience. Poor communication, poor workmanship, and an inability to properly diagnose or resolve issues. I would not recommend Fountain Blue Pools, especially when it comes to service and support after installation. read more

My husband and I hired Fountain Blue Pools to install a pool at our house in Wellington in October 2021. Of course everything was inflated due to COVID which we understood. Robbin the designer was nice and came up with a good plan which is why I give 2 stars not 1. During the build process, which was painfully slow and took 5 months, it was difficult to deal with them because they seemed to have no idea what their subcontractors were doing. Many times I called or emailed for updates and their office would just say that they were subject to the subs. The property was a mess and they left their debris and garbage for us to clean up and I had to beg and bug for them to get rid of it. Subs were terrible, they would come and "work"for an hour or 2 and leave their mess behind not to be seen again for a week or more. One day one of the sub's crews came, ate lunch, watched soccer on their phones, left their lunch garbage (wrappers, cans etc) all over my back lawn and left. Never heard from designer Robbin once contract was signed. They consistently blame the slow progress or issues on their subs as if they had nothing to do with hiring them. I paid Fountain Blue for everything so to me, they are responsible. What's worse is that once installed, they did not take responsibility for issues that came up. For example, when (18 month old) heater kept shutting off for no apparent reason, their tech came out and blamed me for water level being to low (I've had pools forever and know how to run a pool). made no sense but they insisted. After several fruitless service calls (which they charged me for by the way) I finally called pool heater manufacturer who came out and took one look and said "Öh, control panel is shorted out let's replace it" One hour later heater was fixed no more issues. NO CHARGE as heater WAS under warranty!!! This was after 3 months of negotiating with Fountain Blue to try to fix it. Had family over, cold pool, etc. Worse, the patio they (or their subs) built completely sank and needed to be partially redone. They took no responsibility for it, saying it was "not under warranty". It was less than 2 years old and I spent north of $130k on the pool/patio. They said that if I wanted, they could get Sub out to look at is and give me an estimate to fix. I bypassed them and had another company come and rectify since they were utterly useless once again. Needless to say, I fired them from the weekly maintenance and would never use them again. Started out ok for a few months. Now ignore algae growth. Lie about chemical balance-I checked right after the tech sent me the chemical balance. 0 chlorine in the water - tech said it was fine. Flooded the room when they left a valve open. Drained the pool 12 inches because the tech left without closing the valve used to lower the water. I could go on and on. EPIC FAIL. Worst build experience ever. Poorly run construction management from start to finish. Permits approved July 2022, construction didn't begin until October 2022. Plaster was finally installed May 1, 2023 after months of Fountain Blue dragging their feet and having so many construction issues, from plans not being followed to mistake after mistake, delay after delay. Now, 10 days "post completion", the pool has a leak and is losing 2" of water a day. While the leak is being addressed and will be fixed, this is not the experience you want when building a custom pool for over 120K. I STRONGLY suggest using another company for your project. read more

July 5, 2023 Another great review for Mike at Fountain Blue Pools. On July 5th at 7:30 a.m. our pool pump would not start. Our house was full of guests. We called Mike and within an hour he was there and diagnosed the motor was burned out. Within another hour, Mike had installed a new variable speed pump and motor. Then we were up and running. Fountain Blue is extremely unreliable. Techs do a no show or flyby service. When you call the office you are given the run around and promised someone will come to take care of cleaning and no one shows. We were also told that our pool needed phosphate treatment for $250 when the chemical is $25 at Home Depot. I would never recommend this company. read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid this nightmare of a company at all costs!!! Two homes, two pools and 5 years and NOTHING BUT ISSUES. Their technicians will not clean your filter, leading your pool equipment to fail. They will leave the filter top off, running your pump dry and the pool equipment will fail. They will leave the pool pump running 24/7 for 8 months, leading to astronomical electrical bills. To top it off, when your home is for sale, your technician will see the pump has failed and say nothing, leading to a green pool. Then the supervisor Dwight will show up, yell at you, refuse to take any accountability for his technician's failures and refuse to give you a price quote for a new pump. When you speak with Lillian in the office, she will insist that two emails were sent out and you had a phone call about said pump, before she realizes that was a year beforehand and the pump was replace then.... A pump that's only one year old should not fail. This company ruins your equipment and refuses to take responsibility for their technicians. Avoid at all costs. In the words of Donald Trump, "You're FIRED!!!!" Update: I had someone come to check out the pump and the circuit breaker had tripped. This time, it still works. Mind you, Dwight, the supervisor for Fountain Blue told me it was "completely broken" and they gave me a quote for a pump for $1,700 today. Crooks!! read more

My wife and I sought estimates from 4 companies for a new pool in late spring 2022. We learned about Fountain Blue from a friend and their family. We decided the process with Joanna. Joanna was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and personable. Compared to the other companies, she began with an open mind addressing our vision and any concerns all while working with our schedule. The design she generated was brilliant. After creating a design, she met with us to look at samples, was patient and thoughtful throughout and answered every question in detail and with honesty. She really is a quality person and absolute asset to Fountain Blue. The pool construction was at times problematic, which was mostly expected. The main issue we faced related to communication during the construction process. Communication could probably be improved as we experienced no reply or unanswered questions at times during the construction phase with the construction administration. This was disheartening at times since the whole process was new and at times overwhelming to us. Fortunately, Joanna remained available and clarified any concerns. I have to 100% agree with negative reviews. I have hired this company and soon about to FIRED THEM! The service that comes every week is HORRIBLE! I started to time her by a time I see her coming to the time she goes back to her vehicle, it was 11 minutes!!!! What kind of services that? I asked her supervisor last week how long does she suppose to clean up the pool? The answer was "20 - 25 minutes"! Hell no I didn't get that! Maybe she was busy talking or texting while doing her job! She's the one who more misplaced the part of the equipment for the pool. But I'm the one who has to go by the part so she can fix it. I thought long and hard before I wrote this review because a small business owner I rarely write negative reviews. What can I say about my experience with Fountainblue Pools? It was terrible from the beginning to the end. Firstly when we came in and had our design appt we made a few changes to the initial design which extended the length of the pool. However they never came back out to remeasure. On the day they are supposed to start construction they tell us that we have 2 trees that are basically inside of the pool and need to be removed at our expense. Strike 1. So we pay to have the trees removed. Once they begin construction they tell us they never realized that there was already a pool there and since the old pool was fiberglass it would be an additional $4700 to remove it. Strike 2. During construction, the workers cut several lines in the backyard including one that is supposed to ground the house. They also broke our sprinkler system and cut our cable wire TWICE that costs $200 to have a technician come out and fix. The person we dealt with was rude and had a bad attitude. Every time we voiced a concern she seemed bothered. We failed our electrical inspection which further delayed the process. Our lights in front our house still don't work because of the shotty work they did. Also the pool is finished but there's a 4 inch gap between the house and the pavers. My husband called and no one has returned his call. Their timeline was way off. They promised a pool in 3 months we're going in 6 months and still no pool. I'm in the middle of having a pool built by Fountain Blue Pools and it has been impressive to say the least. Every sub they have sent to my property seems to be expert in their specialty - Well, except the electrician. He doesn't care how crappy his work looks, but nothing my handy hubby can't fix. We are almost at completion of the build within 7 months. Just BEWARE of the salesperson Robin. Though she claims to have been in the business for 20 years, the contract she wrote for us was wrong regarding setbacks, drainage, and lack of many details to which Fountain Blue has had to make concessions and costed us lots of extra money. My husband spoke with Joe Galan as to not charge us since we suspended their service and had incomplete service due to the storm. They never sent a technician to complete the service. In-office construction staff are unresponsive. It is 6 months since "completion" and defects including broken edges on (poor quality) travertine coping and defective valve have not been repaired. I recently bought my house with a pool that had been serviced by Fountain Blue. I called to set up service and get my pool going. They were completely inept. Pool cleaner did a terrible job, threw debris from the pool on the lawn. Heater had a problem and they never came to fix it despite multiple calls and appointments. When I called to tell them they were fired, no one even bothered to call and find out why, I guess they just don't care. There's too many good pool cleaning companies in the area to put up with low quality service. read more

Fountain Blue was contracted on or about May 2017 to add a sun-shelf to our existing pool, replace all of the pool equipment, add a pool heater, change the pool lighting, and, as well, extend the pool deck and cover the same with travertine. As of May 2019, the project is ongoing. When extending the deck, one of the footers was placed incorrectly and Fountain Blue forced a contract adjustment to have the footer placement corrected at our expense. In conjunction with forcing the us to pay for the footer placement correction, additional travertine was charged, but never delivered to the work site. In the end, the extra stone was proven to be completely unnecessary but ordered by Fountain Blue solely to make it appear a change request was made to justify their error in footer placement. In the end, Fountain Blue failed to voluntarily adjust for the overcharge of stone material until demand for the same was made. The overcharge for correcting the placement of the footer was never refunded, though request for the same has been made via email numerous times. Further, the deck extension covered existing sprinklers, which the Fountain Blue construction foreman said would be capped but were not. Subsequent use of the sprinkler system caused extensive damage to the new deck as the decking material raised/floated and the sand under the stone washed out. Only a modest attempt was made by Fountain Blue to correct the issue, the consequence of failing to cap the sprinklers is reflected in the decking inspection, which failed. The negligence is further reflected in the overall appearance of the deck which has since, in a manner of mere months, become uneven/sunken/sloping and riddle with weeds and unsightly if not dangerous. The deck that was replaced stayed flat and weed free for 20 years when only after 4 months, the new deck looks older than the one that was replaced. As some sprinkler lines where cut, and not capped, in the laying of the deck the entire sprinkler system was compromised after use and had to be replaced due to the amount of sand and debris which filled the sprinkler lines. A cost that Fountain Blue has left entirely for me to assume as a badge of my stupidity for hiring them. Immediately upon completion of construction, the pool was left with cracked decorative tiles newly installed by Fountain Blue as well as gobs of caulking material on the face of tiles along with a lot of tile fogging. Further, by the admission of one of the Fountain Blue owners, Lisa, who sought to bring in a third party leak detection service to absolve Fountain Blue as responsible, the pool has leaked *incessantly* since Fountain Blue completed construction. The third-party leak detection company only found fault in the new construction areas and performed a repair to the skimmer throat that has since made it impossible install a skimmer door. The skimmer door now sits forgotten on top of the electrical panel. Other leaks continue to exist at the equipment and Fountain Blue makes no attempt to fix them though they do frequently send us invoices to charge for the necessary leak repairs. Too, the manner the equipment is plumbed is sure to see leaks continue to develop in the future as the filter cannot be removed from the canister without disrupting the pipes as they are not secured to the concrete pad and shift and turn/twist at will when the filter canister or even the skimmer basket is opened. Other forced contract adjustments were made during the course of project completion to include Fountain Blue making us responsible for 'extra equipment rental' to execute a portion of the contracted work and forcing us to assume 'overage costs' associated with the electrical work. Despite paying extra for accomplishment of the electrical work, the equipment master breaker must be reset after any heavy rain as the circuit breaker blows and the all the equipment ceases to function. Due to the incessant leaking, the pool suffers from horrible allege growth and scaling, which Fountain Blue has charge us nearly $1000 to mitigate, but the allege and scaling swiftly return due to the need to continue to fill the pool with city water to keep water levels sufficient for the pool equipment to function. When the new equipment was installed, we were promised a three year warranty; however, the salinator failed in the first few months and Fountain Blue forced us to pay for a replacement rather than exercise any promised warranty. The likely cause of the salinator failing is that it runs at 'max' to try to fight the allege that grows from compensating for the loss of water with near daily additions of untreated water. Since the replacement of the salinator, the pool has no longer been managed as the salt water pool it is; rather, the pool is now treated like a regular chlorine pool. tl;dr Steer far away from Fountain Blue read more

DONT BE FOOLED WITH THEIR BS TALKS... be better than me and walk away and find you a better company to deal with... oh also non of the pool deck team or tile team are their direct employees but subcontractors just wearing Fountain Blue T shirts. We met with Joanna over a teleconference as we did with the other 2 however, she was the only one to actually take our original design and completely transform it into something more beautiful than we could of thought of. That is what sold us! Why should we direct the design consultant. If that is what their expertise is then, they should lead us and inform us on what we can do and how we can optimize the beauty of our backyard.
