Update; About 18 months later and no other rust came through. This was a flaw when they installed it and did not put enough concrete on the pool shelf to fill it and put a pinhole in it. The quote I received from this company was dramatically (more than double in areas) higher than the other pool builders I contacted (I did a full line-item comparison), and the communication throughout the process felt dismissive and unprofessional to me. When I asked follow-up questions to understand the pricing, the responses I received came across as defensive rather than helpful. I strongly recommend anyone considering this company compare multiple quotes and pay close attention to how each company communicates during the process. I also want to note that after sharing my experience, I was contacted by their attorney with a forceful letter demanding I remove my review. Dec.1, 2021 final inspection for the pool and its entirety. Zach was amazing! He's on the ball so helpful and knowledgeable. Fast forward, the tiles are lifting and sinking. This is most unfortunate, a trip hazard and I was advised...the warranty has expired. In all fairness and professionalism, the warranty needs to be extended. Leena was not only kind, courteous and overtly knowledgeable, she worked with us directly for a few weeks to create the perfect pool / spa combo to fit our space. In a matter of days, we had technical drawings in hand, a build schedule flushed out and all the excitement in the world for what was to come. Flash forward a few months and the build process began. Duncan and his entire team worked incredibly fast while also making sure that the work he and his crew performed was of the highest quality. You can't beat that combination! The construction team had to overcome a few obstacles to get the digger into our fenced-in backyard, but they did so expertly and without any noticeable wear and tear on the surrounding property. All in all, it took the Sunsational team about 10 weeks to complete the project. That's 10 weeks from dig day until my family and I had this gorgeous pool to enjoy... and just in time for summer. We are now about 10 months in since the construction project was completed, and we could not be happier with the quality control efforts and support offered to us even after the final check was cashed. When Sunsational says they stand by their product, they mean it! We had some pool tiles that settled / sunk a few inches after a major fall storm, and within days, the crew came to our home and fixed the issue without question or complaint. Did they have to do this? Sunsational pools and Spas did an excellent job installing our new pool. From demo to filling with water went without a hitch. It took 4 months to complete. It's been 9 months now since they finished in May 2023, so that's why I waited to write this review. Do your research and know what you want because they will not up sell you. One thing I didn't get was the automatic overflow which is a must with the south Florida rain. I also didn't get the pool equipment automation which would have been perfect since I'm gone for the summers, and would have been able to operate the pump remotely. Like I said, my fault for not doing the research. They were very responsive after the build when I had some travertine pavers settle, which they guarantee for a year, and fixed the next day. I never write reviews, but in this case the service was so bad that I just had to! This project started out so positive, the sales person was very helpful and informative! Then, construction began... they installed the perimeter fence without a permit.. and the color has been banned by the town so the entire fence that was installed needs to be removed and replaced. That was a month ago... the entire project has stopped and Sunsational is not communicating with the town. I'm doing all the calling back and fourth... but Sunsational remains silent... I asked for project updates or a schedule... silence. I reached out to the town.. the permit they did put in for the fence (which was after the fence was installed) was incomplete - so the town can't reject it in order for a new permit form the new fence. Sunsational refuses to complete the permit. On top of this, they are telling me I will have additional charges to install a grey fence.. so they messed it up...didn't apply for a permit (until after they installed the fence) and to have it changed is going to cost me additional! They absolutely WILL NOT COMMUNICAT! No calls - no emails - NOTHING!! This project was supposed to be completed last week... it's been a month of no activity...no communication... and no progress on the incomplete permit. What started as a dream project is now an absolute nightmare with no end in site!! The frustration level and stress is more than this project was worth!! Steer clear of this company!! read more

Update: It has been 5 years since we have our pool. So far we have had to change the pool pump due to corrosion because it was installed improperly, the salt cell for our chlorinator which also went out, pool light that went out after year 1, even though we rarely turned it on, the area around the skimmer had to be repaved due to a major sinkage of the pavers, the tile on the waterfall had to be removed and reinstalled due to the tile bulging and popping off the wall. We had our pool completed approximately 2 years ago by sensational And the customer service we've received with the two concerns we had is amazing. 1st there were some imperfections in the finish right after it was completed and within two weeks they resurfaced everything. 2nd two years later and one of the pool lights was flickering, I called sensational and they said we will call you back, they did! They scheduled a technician to come and replace the light and once again within two weeks of having an issue the problem was resolved. I highly recommend asking the most detailed questions about things and getting all answers in writing, as a lot of details can be glossed over. This may be a bit more expensive than hiring all of the subcontractors yourself but if you're like me and like "a single throat to choke" when things are going sideways, it's worth it. Took about 2.5 months. All went well. Minor glitches were fixed quickly. Attentive and responsive job site supervisors. Sub trades were good. If you're a hands on homeowner with experience in building trades, try to be there for the little things you might prefer to be done a certain way, but not at all necessary. I got 4 bids, went with Sunsational. Cost includes lots of ongoing tasks that are required after completion of the construction, which is good. After hearing mixed reviews from neighbors or friends that used this company I decided to give them a chance. I called to set up an appointment a week ahead of time and then called to confirm the morning of the appointment. About an hour after the scheduled time, when no one had showed up, I called the office. The receptionist was confused that the salesperson hadn't shown up yet or given me a call and said she would look into it and call me right back. Thirty minutes later I still hadn't heard and called back but the office was closed. The salesperson finally gave me a call 2.5 hours later and seemed very defensive right away. No apology at all, but instead told me that I had gotten the date wrong and our appointment was tomorrow. I explained that not only was I sure it was today as I had taken off the day from work to get things done and put it in my calendar, I had also called and confirmed with their office that morning. He quickly switched tactics and threw his receptionist under the bus stating that "Well, clearly she screwed up. It happens. So when do you want to meet?" I replied that I had some concerns about their communication and maybe it was fortunate this became clear before we moved further. He said "I guess it is!" and hung up. Nice. I called the office the next day to speak to someone, not for me, but they should know about that guy. I explained what had happened and they did not seem super surprised when I gave them the name of the salesperson that was so rude. I was told I would get a call the next morning from the owner. It's been a couple weeks and they did not follow up. Sounds like they already know about this guy and don't seem to care very much. So I guess it actually is a good thing we figured this out early! He collapsed my pool pumping water out with a heavy duty pump and a heavy fire hose, some 344 total pounds of water weight and pressure on my pool wall. Per a opening and a cleaning, with a clean fill. I told him to put the equipment on my deck, he didn't listen. He hung it on my pool wall, which the weight and pressure caused me pool wall to pop out of the upper rim. He let it sit for 7 days, without water, the entire wall collapsed and warped out of both upper and lower rims, and he left my expensive premium pool linerwithout water for 7 days, and a total of 23 days, without being fixed, remaining buckled- which caused my premium liner to shrink and pop out of the return, requiring replacement of a another new premium liner. He took 16 other pool jobs, instead of repairing my pool. He played cat and mouse games, ignired my calls and text trying to address the emergency, and he refused to work out a repair agreement, he would not give me his insurance info, he refused to take any responsibility, he ignored my calls and text and attempts to get my pool fixed. He took 16 more pool jobs, then another 20 more pool jobs while my emergency sat not repaired for 23 days. Yesterday, after my homeowners insurance called asking for his insurance a couple days prior, he finally gave his insurance info and he refused to repair my pool damage that he caused to my pool and liner, and he said he quit - would no longer be my pool service provider. Get his insurance info before you let him do anything. He left me and my pool in a jam, cared more about making money from 16 + 16 + 20 other customers, than fixing the damage he caused to my pool and liner. He also broke my ladder. I'm sickened, disgusted, offended and hurt a old high school acquaintance would do this to me. Seriousely, I would not recommend hiring him, not after this disturbing experience. read more

I am very sad about this review. I was so excited to find a local pool builder to support in my community. I made an appointment and the showroom was absolutely beautiful. The girl who greeted me was nice. Joe came out to greet me and sat and talked about my pool. He was somewhat distracted with other customers around me but I was too excited to build a pool, I let it slide. He said that he would be at my house Monday around 1pm to map out the pool. I would not be home but he would call me when he got there. Never got a call, so I called the office around 4pm. They said that he was out and would call me. He called and said that he doesn't need to go but he would do from my site survey, ok. He does this for a living. Joe sent me my drawing and the pool was on a strange part of my house and it was so tiny. I knew that he had not listened to a word I said in our meeting. I called back and he told me that I had not told him correctly. After much back and forth I sent an email to the office stating that I was not happy and I would like to work with someone else. Julie the owner called me and was very nice. She was going to personally handle my pool and draw up a new scale for me. She gave me her cell phone number and told me to call her any time. A couple days after Joe called me to tell me that he sent a new drawing. I thought Julie was going to take care of me??? I texted her and she never replied. I have left out alot of other details or this review would be a book. I gave more than 5 chances for them to earn my business and they continued to sabotage themselves. I did alot of research and visited pools they built. Only one owner could tell me they were happy. Others said to find someone else. What can I say other than wow!!! Sunsational Pools and Spas just completed our pool a week ago. From the day they dug to the day we started to fill the pool with water was just a couple of days over 4 weeks. When we started meeting with Pool builders, we received several quotes. One company told us it would take them 4 months start to finish. Another company told us 3 months start to finish and Sunsational Pools told us that once the permits were issued, they would have us swimming in less than 5 weeks. First off, they beat that and finished in under 5 weeks(whole project took 3 months and if the permit process had been faster with the county, we would have been swimming sooner). To compare, the first company that told us 4 months start to finish has built several pools for our friends, and they all waited 4-6 MONTHS to complete their pools. The second company that quoted us 3 months is working with a friend now, and not only did their build begin before ours, their pool is still NOT completed. PLUS they still have at least another few weeks to go. Sunsational pools is building another one of our friends pools as we speak(And this co is very busy building many pools at the same time) in week two, they are so far along and will be done in 2-3 weeks. And our friends pool is much larger than our 14x28 rectangle pool. I chose Sunsational because I knew they would not stress me out during the process, and during this pandemic, the last thing I would have wanted to endure was additional stress. I had heard from others that the Sunsational Pools team was so professional, always on time, and they keep you posted every step of the way. SO TRUE!! Even after the pool was completed, they have reached out to check on us and sent out a tech right away to fix a minor issue with our equipment that was not even an issue in the end. Just a simple adjustment. Oh and as for price, VERY competitive and not over priced like so many other builders out there. While Sunsational Pools builds very nice pools, their followup and customer service is beyond horrendous. I have left 7, or 8 messages for Julie, the owner, who has chosen not to return them. I have been attempting to resolve a problem for almost a year and a half without satisfaction. The people who "run block" for julie do a very good job as they insist that she is either on the phone, or in the field every time I call. Clearly they are only interested in building new pools and taking your money during the process. Once you sign the final check don't expect any satisfaction at all. They are not the only pool builders in south Florida and when considering building a pool put Sunsational at the bottom of your list. I just wanted to give a HUGE thanks to Sunsational Pools & Spas for the amazing pool they did for our backyard. From the moment Joe came to our house to provide us with an estimate, we just knew that we were in good hands. The entire company was such a pleasure to work with. From the dig date to the final inspection, the entire crew was extremely professional and worked tirelessly to ensure that everything was done to perfection. Each day they were there at 7:15 am and worked until 5 pm, and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Not once did we receive a complaint from our community. In fact, we actually had some neighbors stopping by to take a look at the progress because they were very impressed with how quickly things were being done and how incredible it looked. Anytime we emailed or texted a question there was always a prompt response. The expectations and timeframe were set up front and they stuck to it, even when there was a week and a half of torrential downpours. After certain parts of the build were completed, we either received an email or a phone call with what the next steps were and when to expect them by. The whole process was quick and easy and took only 6 weeks. The dig started on May 31 and the pool was filled up on July 12. DO NOT USE! We had our pool built less than 5 years ago and while they were fast to build the quality has been horrific. The patio has sank (not settled) 4 times several inches due to the lack of proper packing. the pool pump went out 3 times, 2 salt cells, and the spa coping fell off twice. Julie specifically has tried to avoid repairs. Her sales tactics were just that..tactics, and when the money stopped and the pool was built the follow up was non existent. to this day the spa looks like a child did the work. The patio has to be laid again and the tiles have to be glued back on. MOST UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY EVER! Her son now on the construction side has even gone as far as to sign his name in the concrete under the tiles. All add ons after the build and during are double the cost from any other builder. Was told the structure and craftsmanship had a ten year warranty by several employees and when i called to have the repairs scheduled, Julie said it was only one year and we would no w have to pay.
