Great food and selection of beers. It's a nice spot to relax too. Great outdoor seating situation. Highly recommend it.

went for brunch, lovely setting, acoustic guitar player however the food and drinks missed the mark. bartender didn't know how to make a drink I ordered, complimentary potato chips were soggy and cold. Ricotta toast had almost zero ricotta - carbonara was basically inetable as the overly smokey bacon overtook the dish. hoping they can improve the food as the setting was nice. read more

Enjoyed octopus and bowl of chicken Currie. Great place good atmosphere. Try it some time

One of my all time favorite restaurants! I no longer live in CT, but going to the foundry is a MUST every time I come back to visit. The team there is incredible and makes you feel like family. Being a very picky eater due to health/dietary restrictions, I find it hard to eat out and enjoy myself at most restaurants. Foundry is one of my top choices for both atmosphere and menu. I LOVE the fall salad here and the scallops over spaghetti squash. And of course the sweet potato fries! I would recommend (and have recommended) the Foundry to everyone I know. Can't wait to go back again! read more

For the quality and amount of the food, was way overpriced. The fish was a bit salty (freshness issue ?) was first and last visit for me.

Quality food, wine and beer in a comfy tavern setting. We shared appetizers and they were all excellent. The pretzel crusted tuna is a must try and the meat and cheese plate was very good. Upstairs is a darker, sexier lounge area that is a great place to settle in and have an after dinner drink or three. It's got a great vibe. read more

I like this place...it's picturesque, and the food is good. It's always rather busy, with a lot of movement and noise...lively is an apt description. We usually sit at the bar, I like the bartenders...attentive and good personalities. read more

I stop in here from time to time when my favorite restaurant in this area is closed. Today was probably just an off day. The ahi tuna tasted and smelled old. I sent it back and ordered a burger which had no flavor. Stuff kept rolling off our table throughout the meal because it was lopsided. Kind of funny after the fork fell off, not so funny when the water spilled on my phone. Lesson learned, Don't keep your phone near your water glass when you eat. Bottom line: I wouldn't come here solely for the food. read more

Have been here twice with my wife. Food is outstanding. I'm not someone who cares to drive more than 15 minutes for food but this place is the exception. Have had the octopus, the duck, and the short rib...all stunning. Will be back for years to come. read more

I haven't eaten extensively here, only sat at the bar and ordered appetizers and drinks a couple times, but it was really good. Great selection of beers on tap, simple but creative menu, semi-swanky-farm house atmosphere and good service. Beautiful view of the river in the back with outdoor seating. Only downer is the parking is sorta inconvenient, but located in Sandy Hook center which is great to walk around so not a big deal. read more

Great place! Got the smoked brisket dip and fish and chips (special of the night). Both were very good. Great bread service with the meal too. Will definitely come back! read more

One of the best brunch spots in town with a great view! Staff is always on point and great. Lobster dish is amazing!

Nice place and atmosphere. Loved the vegetable curry bowl I had the first time. The second time I got the risotto bowl. It was ok but I'm not sure why they charge $26 for risotto!! Ridiculous. No meat or tofu in it. I'll go back but it is a bit pricey for what you get. read more

Love the setting for this restaurant. Wasn't crazy about the pork cheek, but the 24 hour ribs were amazing! Small but decent bottled beer selection as well. read more

While the food was good the lack of proper atmosphere and especially the lack of lights made us feel 1) why can't we read the menu, 2)why can't we see our food 3)why do we feel like we're in the dark? We asked why it was so dark...answer: owner leases and doesn't want to spend the money on fixing the problem. Waitress admitted that she, at times, has tried to turn up the lights. Conclusion: We won't be back. read more

As usual, I consulted Yelp while traveling and searching out good food. I travel alone, so a nice meal is a treat for me. This place is a wonderful find! It's located in a very quaint and typically New England building. As a bonus, there's a full on New England trout stream that runs right behind the building. Nice beers on tap (not a brewpub) including a great local IPA. The menu is eclectic and I like that. It was a tossup between FishTacos and a marinated Pork Chop. I chose the chop. Cooked perfectly with a very tasty chutney, red cabbage and mashed potatoes. It was all good, nice service too. A pleasant surprise and I'll be back! read more

Been here a couple of times for lunch. The inside out burger is very juicy and meaty. Fries are decent. The pork cheek app was delicious and interesting. The first time I had the short rib crepes. It was just ok. The pulled short rib was kind of stale. The second time, I should've learned my lesson, but I can't seem to help myself when it comes to short ribs...I ordered the short rib reuben. Although piled with an abundance of pulled short rib, it was no way near a reuben. I was expecting short rib seasoned and brined like corned beef or pastrami. It was more like a bbq pulled beef sandwich. Maybe if they didn't call it a "reuben" I wouldn't have been disappointed. However, the other options on the menu have still left me curious to want to come back and try. read more

I came here with a friend for drinks and an app at the bar on an early Saturday afternoon. The bartenders on duty were super friendly and knowledgable about their beer selections, our samosas were hot and tasty, and we never felt rushed to leave despite being there for almost 4 hours (!). Good bar experience! read more

My friends thru my 40th birthday here. I was so excited. If I knew how they were treated by the manager it would have ruined my night. I have the kindest friends and a wonderful family. I will not be going to Foundry any time soon. Jackie read more

My goodness I love this place. Yucca fries, salad, salmon, pork belly, scallops, all off the hook. Great rustic atmosphere and attentive, friendly service. Dine upstairs in the wine bar. It's more quiet & chill. read more

Went there Dec 29th , Sat evening. Had high hopes based on reviews. However, Food was average, wait staff were attentive and nice . Just can't justify more than 3 stars as most in our party of 8 felt the same way . read more

They've done a nice job renovating the back deck. The food was very good. We shared the calamari, then had Mediterranean salad with salmon (my wife) and sea scallops (me). read more

One of my favorite places to eat great service great atmosphere good beer selection great specials and creative menu excellent all around

Great place to sit & hang out on the covered deck. Stuffed zucchini flower appetizer, heirloom tomatoes. Fluke special & salmon were very good. Pricey but will go back! read more

Food was pretty good, about what I expected from an American fusion bistro. Calamari appetizer was done to perfection and the beer list was all good choices. The disappointment came with the check: Over $200 for dinner for four, not counting the tip. Not what we expected when the entrees were under $20 per person. Drinks and desserts, the stuff most people don't price before ordering, are priced like Manhattan. I would have gone back, but the food isn't worth $60 per person for a modest meal. read more

Bragged about this place to friends a zillion times. Waited for a very special occasion and took them there for dinner. We had a great time. their polite professional service and delicious food does the trick every time. read more

Excellent meal.... love the new menu! I ordered the risotto, lots of great favors. I would order that again any day! My husband got the smoked brisket with truffle tots, which wasn't my idea of a healthy meal, but must admit was outstanding. read more

Great bar and restaurant in comfortable heritage building. Food was all excellent, fresh and promptly served by our attentive Waitress. Only con was the high music volume but must sat the high quality hifi system pumped out some impressive tunes. Will be most happy to rerturn. read more

I stop in to Foundry every time I travel by Exit 10 on Rt 84. The staff is knowledgeable, welcoming, and extremely friendly. The atmosphere and setting is so unique for CT. The Sunday brunch is always spectacular - creative brunch dishes, drink deals, and live music make it the perfect meeting place for friends and family. The corned beef hash on Sunday was incredible. The dinner specials are always delicious, fresh, and prepared to perfection. There is no place like Foundry anywhere in the area. I will be back very soon. read more

Had brunch here with a friend after having not been here for quite some time and the food was delicious! Staff was friendly, the place was cozy and the drinks were yummy. Great addition to this small town! read more

Probably the best fish tacos I've ever had in my life. And the yukka fries that go with it are fantastic! It was finally warm enough to sit outside and the patio is the best place to eat anywhere around. My friend had the inside out burger and I'm definitely going to try that next time. Our waiter was nice and very knowledgeable and made a great recommendation from their draft beer list. There was live music in the Tavern so after dinner, we went to the bar for a drink and to enjoy the music. Place had great energy. Great night out. read more

Cute place however 3 of the 5 meals we ordered were not very good. Short ribs with grits was mostly grits and a small amount of short ribs. Korean Short rib dinner - meat was so tough. None of the 3 pieces shredded. Needed a steak knife. Disgusting. Ordered chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce. You would think it was chocolate however it was white with tiny chocolate crumbs and even our waitress said it normally doesn't look like plus it had no raspberry sauce. One person in our party ordered the soufflé and it was more like a piece of a molten lava cake and it was made with bitter chocolate. Very disappointing. read more

Has gone down hill from the previous owner. Menu is basically the same with a few price increases. Basic bar food with a few treats. Service is slow even with hardly anyone here. The music is way too loud. Nothing to go out of your way for. I might add that on a recent visit we ordered 2 burgers medium rare and a French dip. New for us as these are not our normal eats. Both burgers were well done to extra well done and the roast beef sticking out of the French dip was crispy from the warming lights or a trip to the microwave. This usual haunt has had me visiting other options in the area. read more

This is the second time I have been to the foundry. Once for lunch and once for dinner. The food is just amazing. I am a little sad about their fall hours though as my girlsfriends and I tried to have lunch there this week but they only open at 4:30 during the fall. Other than that very happy that this restaurant is in our town! We'll definetley become regulars! read more

Just left after having an excellent light dinner. Service is available both inside and on the outside covered back deck which overlooks the river. Excellent service, good food nicely priced and with some soft entertainment inside. Would have given it 5 stars but nobody is perfect. read more

Pork chop is great. Menu has some gems. Love the variation between the bar area, the inside tabes, and the outside deck overlooking the flowing brook below. Beer selection is good, prices are reasonable. This is the third restaurant in just as many years at this location... It's been here the longest, and I have a feeling it's here to stay! read more

Just wonderful. A friend and I went for brunch and sat out on the deck. I'm so glad that this space is finally being used to its full potential. Looking out over the water is so relaxing. I ordered an open faced omelette with veggies and goat cheese. It was delicious! The perfect amount of creamy goat cheese spread through the eggs paired with seasonal veggies! I often see bottomless mimosas offered at other restaurants, but foundry had several drink specials at $3.00 per glass. I thought that was great because I will only have one or 2 drinks. The service was fantastic. We didn't order right away so we could enjoy our drinks and the view. Our server checked with us but didn't bug us, like, hurry up and order. It was very welcoming and I would certainly recommend this restaurant. Well done! read more
