I came here with a friend during lunch hour, and we quickly got a table outside without waiting. They don't take reservations for outdoor seating, reservations are only for indoor seating. As for the food, there are plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. We ordered the Sheet Pan Nachos - Mexican Street Corn (gluten-free), Madras Curry (gluten-free), and the Hawaiian Chopped Salad (gluten-free). Everything was delicious, though the nachos were a bit on the salty side. As for the service, it was great. Well what can I say. I really wanted to write a five star review and was so excited to have lunch at this place. On an uncrowded Friday afternoon. I sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. No drink, no food (salad or burger) nothing. The waiter was nice enough but did not solve the issue. Now about 1 hour later...the burger is lukewarm, the fries lukewarm, asked for mustard and ketchup when it was brought, and recieved neither. Just sent it back. We will see what they do. Go Anyway, very very poor service and they did Not make it right. The second burger came out in about 10 minutes and was just ok. The Ceasar salad was good not great. So I had a horrible experience. No manager came out to make it right, no discount on the bill. Just a big Hi and Bye from the Foundry. They would do well to check out a place like Lucas Local where the food is amazing and the service even better. Two mercy stars. Go at your own risk. While traveling, found this cool place to grab a burger and watch World Cup at the bar during lunch. Only 2 TV's to watch, but the custom menu and broad array of drinks caught my attention, not to mention the scenic back patio overlooking the stream. But today I favored their rustic indoor ambience for a couple hours of good food, cold craft and friendly service! I rate this 4.5 overall, loved the ambience, decor and menu selections; thought the cost was above average ~$12-18pp for food, and dinner entrees higher, but worth it! Server suggested plenty of Starters like their homemade Short Rib dumplings, Pretentious Buffalo Shrimp, Roasted Cauliflower or Poke Nachos plus many more. All sounded fantastic, I wanted to try all of them! But I opted simply for their signature Inside-Out Burger, and will have to bring a group to try their starter offerings next time. Burger was a hand crafted special beef grind, with truffle cheese, Bacon aioli, house ketchup, pickled onion on an reversed brioche bun; it's cooked to order. Fries were thin, crispy and flavorful, good combo with the burger. Also, a MUST TRY are a side of their homemade salt-n-vinegar chips to snack on, oh yeah so good with cold brew or any beverage! Ordered the classic burger which was excellent, the Hawaiian salad- had a lot going on in it and was excellent and the fried chicken sandwich which was "ok" . Atmosphere and server were great. Beautiful location with a really nice deck. The staff was lovely and did a great job. However, I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken which came to about 20.00. It looked like a small side salad and only came with 1/2 a breast of chicken. Way too small for a dinner salad. Hoping they offer larger salads in the future since the deck was great. read more

This place is so cute inside. We were surprised they had music on a Sunday during brunch hours and the music was great! I ordered the cider mimosa and my husband got a mocktail with grapefruit (I forgot the name). I ordered the omelette that was on the specials menu and it was delicious I ate the whole thing. My husband ordered the Hawaiian Chop Salad which included seared rare sesame tuna, mixed greens, avocado, mango, white onion, macadamia nuts, and sesame ginger dressing and he loved it except the onions were a little too strong. Used to be one of my favorites. Then it was sold and the food slipped. Then they did away with the generous bloody Mary's at Sunday brunch. Replaced with a tall thin glass filled with ice for $11. A stew price considering others nearby offer bloody with brunch for $3-5. The biggest disappointment is the lack of any menu options for those diners who are gluten intolerant. The lunch menu has choices but the brunch menu is very limited. Won't be going back anytime soon as we have so many other restaurants within a few miles that have expanded their menus to offer great gluten and meat free options. read more

We recently went back and it has gone downhill. First, we were seated in the overflow area which felt detached from the main restaurant. In addition, they cut the heat to this area. Absolutely worth the try if in the area! The ideal day is go to Aquila nest winery then go about 5 mins down the road to Foundry's. I went with a large group and everything was delicious. I went to the Foundry for brunch today with my best friends and their family. I also went here previously with friends to celebrate saying yes to my wedding dress back in July! One of my friends who has been here countless times recommended their corned beef hash. I am always very hesitant getting corned beef hash out but because my friend hyped it up so much I obviously had to get it! One word.. amazing! All the hype lived up to my expectations and more! The corned beef was cooked so well and each bite was so flavorful. What I loved the most about this is that most places skimp out with the amount of corned beef they give you in their hash but at the Foundry they serve GENEROUS amounts of corned beef in their hash. This is easily the best I have ever had! Well done! I also love their specialty drinks here. I'm not a Bloody Mary fan but my friends got the build your own Bloody Marys which looked absolutely amazing! My bff got a GRILLED CHEESE on her Bloody Mary! Like what?! I got a peach Bellini and it was obviously delicious as well. One of the driving reasons why I got this item was because of the great deal- $3 when you order a brunch entree! What a steal! I personally don't get the craze to this place other than aesthetics but out of the five different times I've been here, only once did I find my meal good. There's always been an issue with a meal, either something is forgotten or overcooked but my most recent outing was my last one and i held out on doing a review given the rave reviews and my misfortune but this place just is not for me! Even went to a bridal shower and the events manager M$&%y was a little too brash and rude for my liking-food then was ok, but when they came to replenish some of the hot plates 2 of the dishes tasted completely different from my first tasting. I never reviewed this place...We visited 5 mos. ago. The short rib dumplings had close to zero short rib in them. The dumpling wrapper was tough and chewy.. they were pretty much inedible and very expensive. The burger was below average. The fish tacos were okay though the fish was a little too fishy tasting and not uite fresh enough. Take into account we were here for take-out during the height of pandemic this past winter so my guess is the regular chef was perhaps out sick. Either way, very expensive for the quality. This is a super cool spot in the center of Sandy Hook. In the summer you can sit out on the back deck overlooking a running stream, but indoors day or night you find a casual but upscale atmosphere. The drink selection is top notch, the menu is excellent, and the service is exceptional. We've been there for lunch and dinner many times and have never had a bad experience. Our business focus, however, is wings. While Foundry only has ONE wing on the menu (The Ethiopian wing) it gets two thumbs up, eight fingers, ten toes, and two wings! What a great find! This place is incredible. I went for the first time a few weeks ago. I had a burger. It was great. But I want to talk about the staff and how wonderful they are. My dining companion ordered a dish that he misunderstood to be something else. When it arrived it turned out it was not what he thought he was getting so he did not eat it. This had nothing to do with the food quality and just had to do with his own personal tastes. We were not expecting anything. He did take a bite or two. Imagine our surprise when they TOOK IT OFF THE CHECK! This just does not happen..at least without asking. We were bowled over by the staff's thoughtfulness and concern that we have a good evening. We did. Mainly because of how amazing they were. By the way..I loved my burger..it was one of the best I have ever had. They use burger buns they get from a bakery..best I have ever tasted. And my dining companion wound up splitting the burger with me..it's huge..and he loved it. So everyone was happy. Going there again is without question something I want to do. Foundry is a very rustic style establishment with local farm to table style menu. Great atmosphere but can be a little tight quarters as it does get busy. Upon being seated on a weekday around 1, we waited for 20 minutes without service. Asked for service twice (even once was to a manager) and still didn't get it for another ten minutes. Eaten here twice and food was slightly burned both times, for both my entree and my kids entree. To burn a kids grilled cheese totally black on one side and not go through the effort to remake a non burnt one seems kinda obvious but I guess not. I was hoping & expecting to fall in love with Foundry by all the great reviews but unfortunately our lunch missed the bar. We invited friends from out of state to join us for a weekday lunch that should of had a much different end result but left us very disappointed. We were promptly greeted and choose to sit inside for lunch as it was a bit chilly for al fresco dining. The dining room was rather slow so we were surprised by the rather lackluster service throughout the course of the meal. I am not sure if our waitress was busy prepping for dinner service or too busy with outside tables but she barely had a presence at our table & the majority of our issues could of been resolved with a more attentive server. Highlights: Great selection for the kids meal, however it could use a cheeseburger addition {as per my 5yr old nephew} Fish tacos outstanding A+ Al fresco dining over looking the stream Debbie Downer: Blfgt-Everything about this sandwich made me fall in love until it arrived. The toast was burnt & conveniently turned inside, the bacon was rather well done & border line burnt, the pimento cheese what pulled me into this sandwich was non-existent and I literally had to take apart the sandwich to see if they added it which is still up for debate but the worst part was the cold fried green tomatoes. Nothing appetizing about a cold staple ingredient. Overall just so incredibly disappointing, major missteps on this one! Poor service-Wasn't to be found at all. Our meal could of probably been turned around if she had just popped over at least once to see how things were going. A redo was definitely in order here! Another server who cleared our table & brought our check was oblivious to our comments regarding the food & didn't pick up on the fact that we were leaving disappointed. After reading the reviews and checking out the menu I was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant. For starters they took care of us right away, we had a reservation and there was no delay in seating us. They provided some home made ranch potato chips which were really good before we got our meals. Four our entrees we ordered the Inside out Burger, the Duck dip and the Butcher's cut. My son enjoyed his burger and the duck dip was very tasty and full of flavor. My entree was the Butcher's cut (more like the Butcher's scraps)now with a name like that you are probably guessing you will get a decent sized portion but to my astonishment it was about 5 small pieces of beef with a couple of fingerling potatoes. For a minute I thought I got the children's portion it was tiny. For the price of the entree I would have thought it would have been a bigger portion. In addition to this when our meals were served they spilled a drink on the table which forced my gf's entree to have to be sent back. I thought they would come back and at least offer to get us a drink to make up for the mistake but absolutely nothing. If you find yourself here stay away from the Butcher's cut unless you want to stop somewhere else to get a bite to eat. read more

All that being said, I do not agree with or appreciate the no reservations policy for the patio. Especially, when being told I need to sit in my car and notify that I'm there for my reservation (no outside seating available) and then by the time I wait and line for my table I see 3 walk ups get outside seating. Decided to stop here for dinner bc the outside was so cute and it didn't disappoint. I got the short rib and grits--it was cooked perfectly and the grits were excellent too (which is very difficult to find this far north!). My husband got the steak and frites. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the fries were tiny and crunchy and excellent. Nice beer list, featuring some local brews! Great food, nice atmosphere, perfect for a date night!
