Great place to have a relaxing dinner on the patio overlooking the river. Great service good food. Lovely people !

This is one of my favorite restaurants in town. The food is great and the wine selection by the glass is fantastic. They have a delicious Sunday brunch with reasonable prices. But the best part is their huge deck overlooking the Pootatuck River on nice days! read more

Excellent food and some nights some live entertainment. A little pricey but overall the service is excellent

Went here with my family and had an amazing time! We had the salmon, curry bowl, and the duck! All I can say is that after I was done with my meal I was begging for more! The mixed drinks we had were also excellent! I have nothing negative to say about this place! We will definitely be coming back for great, amazing food and wonderful service. read more

What a wondering find! The food had Ecuadorian and Nicaraguan flavor. We all had different entrees and were all very pleased. I had the fish tacos with mango salsa. The white fish was lightly breaded and had beautiful texture. Paired with yucca fries- it was a taste explosion! Yum. read more

Amazing food....could be 4-5 stars but the service is atrocious! I had to ask for water multiple times and still didn't get it.....had to drink my wife's. My wife asked for Parmesan cheese to go along with her pasta dish and by the time it was received, her food was cold. Entrees arrived before appetizer dishes were cleared. We had to ask someone to clear them so we had room to eat. So much potential in the restaurant wasteland of Western CT, but we won't be back due the poor service on multiple trips. read more

Visited for the first time last night on a friend's recommendation and had a great seat, meal and service. The bacon and eggs app was a favorite, along with the inside out burger. Fried calamari has a nice little bite in the sauce, not overpowering the fresh octopus flavor and texture. We ended with the ginger carrot cake with fresh whipped cream and strawberries, happy we saved space to enjoy. Each item on the app menu looks good, I plan to get back to try them all. read more

The food was incredible! I went out with a few of my girlfriends and everyone enjoyed their meal! I got the scallops and they were delicious, I ate everything on my plate! The staff were also very knowledgable of the menu and its ingredients. I will be back soon! read more

I was very disappointed in the entire experience. The food was just okay. The noise level didn't allow for conversation at our table of 4. The service was borderline. I won't return. read more

Excellent food and serene setting on the back deck. Our waitress, Katie was very pleasant.

Cozy, warm enviornment. Very friendly service. Vegan/vegetarian dinner options are a bit limited outside of the salads. But what they do have is very good. They are also very flexible with substituting certain items and accomodating any health/dietary needs. Like everyone else mentioned, the yuca fries are amazing. And the curry bowl is also delicious. read more

I had the French dip and hubby had the Reuben. This was the best sandwiches we had for the whole two week trip! The bread was totally delish!! The atmosphere was great was 3:30 in the afternoon and we were the only customers but we have never had such good food in 3000 miles! read more

My husband and I came for dinner this evening. The restaurant was full and lively. The list of wines was nice with wines that you usually do not see on menus such as carmenere. I ordered the sea scallops which came with homemade fettuccine, I was very excited to try it. The presentation was very nice but when I dove in, it was very acidic and had a sour taste. I ate what was tolerable such as the scallops and toppings. The waitress seemed very busy and brought bread halfway through our meal. Realizing my meal was $28.00 was not worth it for it's taste. I think maybe Next time I should stick to a burger. read more

Been here twice, both times I've been blown away by the service and fare. Best Braised Short Rib I've had in my life. Go early. This place is always busy. read more

This place is always busy and the setting is beautiful. Beer selection was decent. I was not impressed by cocktail menu, too much sweet. Bread basket was diverse but not warm or very tasty. Service was friendly enough. Menu was diverse so many price points which is good. I had fish tacos. They were just ok and way overstuffed and dripping like crazy. The yuca fries were nice. My husband had a sausage plate which was a bit boring but fine. Kids had the spaghetti, ok but no cheese topping and meatballs burnt on one and undercooked on the other two. Also a kid had grilled cheese, he ate it... didn't like the veggie side. Would be nice for kids to have a fruit side. So it was descent but not a stand out other than location and obviously very popular so maybe we didn't get the right dishes. It was ok on family friendly. No changing table so would only bring kids a bit older. read more

Food is good, ambiance is nice rustic farm to table, service is slow and not attentive at all. I had to wave another server down to clear plates, bring new silverware and bring our check. Not once did anyone check on us to see if we needed anything during our meal. I will return simply because i like the food and my mother in law lives close by so it's convenient. read more

The Foundry is our new go-to restaurant in the area. Great ambiance, live music Tuesdays and Saturdays, food is always well prepared and interesting. We always seem to get seated near the bar and the service is excellent - crew members passing by fill our water glasses or clear plates. I'm finally shamed into a review after about 8 check-ins. The menu usually has a middle eastern influenced touch - Indonesian street cart chicken sandwich, Ethiopian spice wings, hummus in the Middle Eastern salad. There's also mainstays like calamari, dumplings, roast chicken, and usually some good fish selections. The biggest problem is deciding what to eat with so many interesting choices. Prices are reasonable, food is unique, service is excellent, what more could you want? I'm just afraid word of mouth will make it too busy. read more

My sister and mother hosted my bridal shower here this past weekend and it was absolutely perfect! The food was amazing as was the service and the space came to life easily with their decorations. I can't recommend it highly enough for a private party! read more

Our first time here. met some friends for dinner on the deck. The menu is very eclectic but for the less adventurous they also have a traditional tavern menu. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Had the octopus as an appetizer and the pork chop for entree and I literally did not leave a single crumb on either plate. The rest of our group also enjoyed their food. Went back for drinks about a week later. Enjoyed the Ethiopian wings with a nice IPA. Friendly crowd at the bar on an early Friday evening. read more

Tremendous food and atmosphere. The unique layout of the restaurant provides for a different dining experience each time, and the flavorful menu never disappoints. A surefire go to for groups as well! read more

I had dinner at the Foundry last night. The service was excellent. I ordered the vegan bahn mi and my sister had the fish tacos, we were both very happy with our selections and had plenty leftover for lunch the next day. Food was very good, I'd definitely come back. Cocktails were great, too. read more

Restaurants like Foundry Kitchen and Tavern make me a really happy camper. My department came here last night for our Christmas shenanigans and were quite pleased with what they had to offer. First off, the building in itself was pretty cool. With two floors, the downstairs being the main restaurant/bar, while the upstairs being solely dedicated to a lounge like area only serving appetizers, it seemed like there was a little bit of versatility depending on how you felt coming here. I've also been told that during the warmer months they open up the patio in the back overlooking the brook and you can dine out there as well. The menu was simple and to the point. Even though we ended up with the majority of the appetizers, enjoying sort of a sampler platter of everything if you will, I did have my eye on those fish tacos, so maybe next time I stop in I'll give them a shot. Out of the appetizers we ordered, my top choices had to be the pork cheek, the cripsy calamari, and the two different kinds of wings. The pork cheek was to die for, with super tender meat and a delicious artichoke puree to compliment it, definitely my top choice of the night. The calamari was done quite well, I didn't have to chew a million times to break up the pieces since they were so tender, and the Korean ketchup glazed on top was an amazing substitute to the common marinara sauce. Chicken wings are chicken wings, but the way they cooked these to make them fall off the bone good and not greasy or fatty whatsoever was impressive. Not to mention, the serrano sauce was delicious. Foundry's bar looked pretty well stocked from where I was sitting, having multiple types of bourbon, scotch, rum, etc. Their beer list wasn't half bad too and also had a few locals like Two Roads and City Steam on tap (I believe). Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to try anything crazy since I had a flag football game later that evening, but the Blue Point Toasted Lager they had on tap was as good as it should be. This place is awesome. I'll be back soon to try their entrees and mixed drinks. read more

Attended a fundraiser event in the 'Loft' portion of this restaurant- so this review is only covering those aspects. What I can say- is that the event was incredibly professional and beautifully prepared. The appetizers and wine were amazing. they offered a tuna tataki on cripsy wontons that was a super nom and a wonderful foie with fig spread that left my mouth watering for more. The building itself is beautifully restored with elegant word work and solid hardwood floors. The staff was pleasant and quite accommodating. def seems like a solid place that I would feel quite comfortable spending an evening with wine or special date night. read more

We have never had a bad meal here. Great food, great location, great service, and great drinks. I love eating on the patio overlooking the bubbling brook on a nice sunny day. read more

Awesome! Love it here. The food is awesome- I love their salad dressings! The atmosphere is very nice! In the summer you can sit and over look the water. They have fun love music on Saturday nights as well. Highly recommend! read more

Great place with fantastic service. Great atmosphere. Prices and quality are real good, not cheap but worth it.

Had dinner there last night with my boyfriend and we are both serious foodies. We chose the vegetable of the day roasted Brussel sprouts as our appetizer and they were absolutely heavenly. I had my usual the 24 hour short ribs and he had the fish tacos and said they were incredible. We topped the meal off by sharing a piece of dreamy carrot cake. The atmosphere there is very warm and inviting and the service is beyond mortal. In addition to all of that it's open on Mondays!!! read more

The Foundry was amazing! Drew is so talented and he played a little bit of everything! I'm definitely going to make this my new spot whenever I'm in the area! The food was great, it's hard to find amazing nachos and they were amazing!! Great selection of craft beers on draft and bottled! Definitely an all ages crowd which made it so fun! read more

Delicious food! We went on a late Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a fantastic brunch. I had the vegan banh mi, my husband had the inside out burger and the children had chicken wings, pasta carbonara and a grilled cheese sandwich that came with yummy tater tots. My husband also enjoyed some local craft beer. read more

Seriously one of the best salads I've ever eaten! The Farm Beet Salad with chicken. Disappointed that it's over ...even the bread is amazing served with olive oil and cheese. Too bad I didn't take a picture before I dug in but by the time I realized how yummy it was I wasn't going to stop eating for a picture! read more

My favorite place to eat in the area. I love the warm comfortable atmosphere. Veggie curry is a 10/10 and the drinks are always delicious

Food is overpriced and not that great. Food is plated well though. Not a family restaurant in a family town.

Just had AWESOME pork cheek crostini app. And a great Szechuan gin martnii as well. To be continued...

This was a first visit to the restaurant, I started with a vodka drink it which tasted weak to me, and had the duck bruschetta which was all-right as the duck was sliced Very thin and was hard to taste. My wife who not so adventurous had the nachos which were simple but good. For dinner I had the salmon with rice and asparagus and although everything tasted good, the portions were small, My wife had the New York strip which she said tasted good but was a little fatty, and had to cut around the meat and fat. I could tell she wasn't overly impressed. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, the waitress we had seemed to be a little uninformed as for as a couple things went, and the atmosphere good. The bottom line is I'm not sure if I'll be going back as I left the place hungry which I don't enjoy after dropping a little over $100, although I did see some other interesting plates be served at other tables that look so good, I'll have to think about it! read more

Feasted on the following: Appetizers: Mussels, chicken wings (ethiopian flavor), broiled octopus Mains: Crawfish linguine, short rib and watermelon/feta salad with grilled shrimp Octopus was the best I have had. Everthing was devoured. Only item that was not up to par were the frites that accompanied the mussels. highly recommend for great dinner but also for light fare and drink... Service was first class read more

The Foundry was excellent. My Ahi Tuna Salad was delicious. My husband had the Pork, based on another suggested tip. It was outstanding! Calamari appetizer was perfectly done and drizzled in a light spicy sauce. The service was unbelievable. The team approach and attention to detail of all servers made the experience even better. Outdoor seating was plentiful and enjoyable by the running brook. Can't wait to go back. Keep up the good work Foundry. read more

We live nearby so it's just too damn easy to stop in and say hi to Ralph and Chris. They have done a fabulous job creating an excellent restaurant with imaginative food and drinks, great staff and the best outdoor deck anywhere. When you go try something from the specials menu. It's a great place to be adventurous. Ask Ralph for a drink recommendation too. Be prepared to wait on the weekends. It's that good. read more

The Foundry is awesome!! Nice surprise in a small town. Had my 30th birthday dinner there and it was delicious!! I hate gravy but whatever they do to theirs ...I could eat with a spoon! The view is great!!! Its really hard to find a place around here that has great food and a great water view! They have live music somenights and you can tell the building has history, I think this place in kind of enchanting! Will definitely go again! read more
