That perfect balance of checking in at the right moments and making sure we had everything we needed. If I come back, I'll definitely be requesting his section. Came with a group of coworkers for dinner and while we had a good time with each other -- the food was just ok. The hostess was friendly and we were seated immediately upon arriving. However, the waiter we had, Mayank, wasn't too friendly. We were ordering a lot of drinks and the spill over splitting checks was unnecessary - like, we get it! His attitude just went gradually went downhill throughout the night. For food, I ordered a meathead flatbread to start out and this was enjoyable as it wasn't overly greasy but needed more sausage. The food was very tasty! Due to a large convention we had a bit of a wait for a table. The hostess had the COOLEST hair and she was very nice! Restaurant has a sports theme and there is plenty of seating including at the bar. We had an amazing server who made menu recommendations and frequently checked to see if we needed anything. During our meal it was storming and subsequently the power went out! Talk about an adventure. The staff sprang into action and the generator kicked in. The prices were very reasonable compared to other restaurants in the resort. I enjoyed my meal and dessert "in the dark". Foundry Fieldhouse is the new restaurant in Gaylord Opryland. It's a brewpub and sports bar, with the kind of menu that comes with a place like that. You know: burgers, fries, beer, etc. But there are a few creative options. My son ordered one of those creative options: the chicken and pancakes, which feels like a take on chicken and waffles. The pancakes are made from sweet potatoes, and the syrup is made from bourbon, and all together it's a sweet and savory dish that comes together nicely. I got the loaded carnitas fries, because I had heard that the fries here are amazing. It's true! I kind of wish I had ordered some plain fries, but the ones in my loaded carnitas fries were crispy and mushy in all the right places. This is an appetizer on the menu, but one fries-and -carnitas-loving person can take it down easily, One thing to mention is that they have a kids' menu, which is a bonus. But my older kid was bummed that their mac and cheese was just the boxed kind. So if your kid likes the mac and cheese in the blue box, then this is right in their wheelhouse. If not? Maybe order something else. This is the place to visit if you want to watch a game. There are so many TVs everywhere. read more

I stopped in recently to watch an NBA Finals game during a recent stay at this Gaylord property. I was informed this was the newest restaurant in this Gaylord location, replacing another concept that used to be in the space. It was a pretty quiet night when my table showed up so we had no problem being seated immediately. The space contains a huge wall filled inch to inch with giant tvs playing various sporting events. Service was fast and our server Cameron was absolutely awesome. Our table shared the following: - Loaded Carnitas Fries appetizer - the combo of flavors was great but coming from San Antonio, TX the carnita meat was 100% overcooked and dry. Fortunately this culd be covered up with some of the sauces. -Pork Skewers appetizer : this was my favorite food dish we shared at the table. The pineapple jalapeno sauce coating the pork was soooo good. -Pepper Crusted Prime Rib : As literally the most expensive food item on the menu this left a lot to be desired. The cut of meat was tough and chewy and lacking in flavor and the coleslaw was bland. Half of the meat was left uneaten on the plate. Would NOT recommend this. Save your money and just get a burger. -Chocolate Beignets : For dessert we opted for this dish since no one at our table had ever had chocolate beignets before. They were a tasty end to the meal (but i still preferred the pork skewers any day) -Bonus - the smoked old fashion was delicous! If you're staying at the Gaylord, Foundry Fieldhouse will be a solid sports bar experience for you. As mentioned, I would skip the prime rib and stick to the more usual sports bar fare that won't do you wrong. read more

I ordered the turkey club sandwich for a late lunch at the foundry fieldhouse and it's not something that I'd recommend. I've had club sandwiches at Marriott hotels all around the world and it's often my go to. The bread was nicely toasted (perhaps grilled), but the sandwich was so tall that it was pretty much impossible to eat as a sandwich. There were several thick slices of unripe tomato (like 1/2 inch) and about 1" of basically tasteless deli turkey. A lettuce leaf was included and the sandwich was dressed with a lemon aioli (regular mayo would have been better in my humble opinion). After removing 1/2 the turkey and one of the tomato slices the sandwich could be picked up at least. I tried the slaw and it simply wasn't good. Sandwich, 1 beer, with tip was ~$40. No thank you. That said, the server/bartender was awesome. read more

As a Marriott Bonvoy establishment a VERY Algren forward approach and attention at meal ordering time - Yet menu lacks options without Corn, Gluten and Cow dairy. You can basically get protein and lettuce and fries- More menu creations would be a win for this iconic thousands of guests venue. Again attention at order taking and personal visit from the chef at your table is great- delivery of food that was safe to eat was accomplished. Very clean bathrooms, neat Extraordinary LARGE space, overwhelmingly XXL TV screens playing every sport and stat you could want as a sports enthusiast. Great addition to the Gaylord Opryland Resort! I originally wandered over to see if Jack Daniel's was still open, but I'm glad I found this spot instead. I was surprised to learn the restaurant has only been open for 45 days. I sat at the bar, and Mike and Doug were fantastic bartenders. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Dip and the Prime Rib -- both were excellent. The sports bar atmosphere is exactly my kind of place, and I'm already thinking about coming back tomorrow night to try more of the menu. Also heard that a bigger Jack Daniel's location is reopening across the way with live music, which will be another great addition as well! read more

Well... the water was nice. That's about as far as I can go. I ordered wings, and they were tough and buffalo sauce lacked flavor. I will say... fries were pretty good. It wasn't too crowded when we ate, but our order still took entirely too long to come out (only three people). They gave me the wrong dipping sauce, and our other orders were messed up as well. Our server was a nice guy, and I don't blame this on him. The prices here are outrageous. 24 bones for a hamburger and more for sides. It's not like you can go anywhere else. You're "trapped" once you're in here, and they make it as hard as possible for you to leave so you'll spend money at their overpriced Millenial burger joints. Oh well. We went to this restaurant for a family get together for a birthday. The hotel is beautiful. Parking sucks and this restaurant was very disappointing. Food was mediocre and expensive. The server was. We came to Opryland resort for a conference. The Foundry is a new addition to the resort and did not disappoint! They were very busy, we had a 40 min wait for a table but were able to grab drinks at the bar and easily watch the very large TVs. When seated, our waitress was very sweet and super knowledgeable. She gave us different recommendations and we went with the 2 shareable items. The star of the meal was the Opryland mushrooms. The mushrooms are grown on site and in a creamy, yet lemony sauce with a poached egg on top. Never had anything like it and was maybe the best mushroom dish I've ever had! It was creamy, earthy, slightly citrusy, and then you add the yolk of the egg and the crispiness of the baguette, , 15/10 stars! The fig flatbread was good. It had saltiness from the prosciutto and sweetness from the fig and pear, and the bread itself was light and crispy. If you like flatbread, it was a normal, well done item. If you are in Opryland as a guest or visitor, would definitely recommend hitting this place up. read more
