Hit and miss. I loved my burger but we also tried a sausage platter and the sausages were dry/not good. The currywurst is just a regular sausage with a spicy curry sauce on top?!? Mustard was killer. The quality of the meat elevates every dish. My guest ordered the BBQ and bacon burger with sweet potato fries and found it filling and flavorful. I opted for the chicken fingers and classic fries. The chicken was well cooked and satisfying -- simple and solid. The only thing that doesn't quite land for me is the French bread-style bun. While I appreciate that it's house-made, I don't feel it complements the burger fillings as well as it could and ends up being the weakest part of an otherwise strong sandwich. With such a strong prep team and in-house saucier, I'd love to see the chicken stand out a bit more -- perhaps with a batter-dipped preparation or a signature house sauce that makes it uniquely theirs rather than relying on standard condiments. It feels like they have the capability to elevate it even further. I finished with the red velvet milkshake, which was rich and creamy without being overpoweringly sweet. A wider straw (like a boba-style straw) would make it easier to enjoy the cake pieces blended throughout, but the flavor itself was excellent. The atmosphere is a cool, almost steampunk Victorian-style soda fountain, and the staff were warm and attentive. It feels like a place with strong management and a positive internal culture. One of the best burgers in Nashville; their chipotle slap burger is perfection! I wish they sold bottles of the chipotle garlic aioli, so I could have it any time. It's got a little kick without being too hot and doesn't overpower the garlic. The burger was cooked perfectly with a little bit of a crispy exterior and a juicy middle, and the grilled jalapeños on top are the perfection addition of spice. This is a great place to grab a Burger or Bratwurst and a beer. They have made from scratch sauces. They use locally sourced beef and use buns from the Frothy Monkey bakery. They have a full bar with local and imported beers, wines, soda shop, shakes and malts. The staff were very friendly and the food came out pretty fast. They have a few parking spots but it's mostly street parking. They also have a fenced in Beer Garden with outdoor shared tables. They serve Burgers, Chicken, Turkey, Handcut Fries, Tots, Wursts, Sides and Vegetarian options. This trip we just got Burgers but I want to go back and try the Bratwursts. I will do another review after I try the Wursts. To finish this review, my wife got this N/A drink called Egg Cream Soda and evidently it's popular in New York and up in that area. We came to The Pharmacy last weekend while in town to see a concert. It was reasonably close to our venue and I'd had it on my Nashville bookmarks for a long time, so it seemed an easy pick! Located in a cute, slightly more residential area along with a pocket of several other highly reviewed restaurants, parking was definitely a challenge on Friday. We found street parking about two blocks up, which we weren't mad about. Though several groups were milling about outside the restaurant, we didn't have to wait to be seated. We did agree to take a seat anywhere though, which wound up meaning we sat inside. We were totally fine with that, but I imagine the beer garden is a more popular destination and perhaps that's what others were waiting for. The interior is quite loud and bustling with activity. Again, not a problem for us, but something to be aware of before visiting. Our service was fairly prompt, warm, and good-natured. Our main waitress was agreeable to us paying as soon as we got our food so we could leave ASAP (concert to attend) and I really appreciated that. We were able to pay at our table via a card reading device she had on hand. On to the food -- My husband had the double, I had their take on a mushroom and Swiss, bro-in-law got the white oak bbq burger, and sis-in-law wound up with an order of beer cheese and chili fries. Hubs and I both got fries, BIL got tots. Hubs was the happiest, remarking he enjoyed his burger a lot. I didn't hear BIL say too much about his food though he did express that he liked the tots. He didn't finish the burger but he doesn't eat much beef usually so that may not indicate he didn't like it, plus the portions are very generous! As for me, I will say I was a tiny bit disappointed in my burger. I liked the soft bun it was served on, but I thought the meat was a little dry. I also wish there'd been a few more buttery mushrooms or gooey cheese to help balance out the relatively dry burger. I got ranch to dip my fries in but it was a little more herby and less buttermilk-y for my preference. That said, the serving size of fries is huge and they were quite tasty on their own -- I really enjoyed the fries! SIL didn't like the beer cheese and chili fries. She said the beer cheese and chili combo tasted weird together. She can be kind of picky but I wound up trying some out of curiosity and I have to say I agree. The combination was just a little odd -- something about the slight sourness of the beer cheese -- and the chili needed more beef and less tomato, in my opinion, as it was on the sweeter side. BIL and I also both got phosphates, The Pharmacy's housemade sodas. He got the Rickey and I wound up with the strawberry ginger on the recommendation of our waitress. We both enjoyed these very much! Super bright flavors and the perfect amount of fizz. I really wish half stars were allowed on Yelp because this is a comfortable 3.5 for me. I'd be willing to visit again and try other things -- the atmosphere is fun and I enjoyed the service. Our food was decent overall and I can easily see how it could've been great! Imagine the devastation when it was removed from the menu last year. Then imagine the pure joy when it returned. Then imagine the superdevastation when it gets removed again! It is genuinely tragic. Please bring back the stroganoff burger. I love it and this place...I'm literally sitting here at this exact moment. Today I decided to try this restaurant and I'm not mad that I did! Off rip, the staff was extremely nice & the ambiance was very laid back. I opted to sit at the bar, but they have a really nice patio area as well. I ordered the turkey version of the pharmacy burger & chose sweet potato fries as my side. The only thing I'd change is not having the fries cook for so long; some of them were a little too tough. The burger itself was pretty good. Turkey burgers are usually a hit or miss for me, but this one was a hit! I also tried two different cocktails. The Amaro Palmer was like a spiked Arnold Palmer; I wasn't really fond of taste of the Amaro , but I can see this being a drink that someone would love. Now, the Tequila Lemon-aid was definitely a 10 for me! It was well balanced- not too sweet, not too tart. I wish I had gotten my bartender's name, but he is golden!!! Oh wow, Yelp says I should update, well fine! It's still the same, few are worthy to sample a burger menu as fantastic as this. Count yourself blessed to discover one of the biggest hits in the Nashville area and after trying burgers between Detroit, Miami, San Diego, Chicago, and Philly, ranking this in the top five as I made a video for! The crazy hype of any place having over 5,000 reviews on Google is not just a Starbuck's style fad. After two visits here, both large groups, dipped in halfway through a Saturday afternoon to find a twenty minute wait but no worries as a local brewery was offering full pints of their finest autumn ales. I had to go for a Oktoberfest and it did me real well. Check out my photos, the burger selection is too good for words. There is a casual easy craft here that makes everything way too right. It's an indulgence on flavor profiles and serving portions easily besting the best burger spots I've had across the Midwest. We all went for the good beef of course and few had any reason to complain. Besides of the patties came up as compared to the large round buns there's to be a huge patty to match. But that is totally fine by me as the toppings fit alongside each piece like a well-seasoned Sunday afternoon lazy family barbecue grill master might throw ingredients between buns. I found the jam-packed mushroom burger way too perfect and wish I could take this whole restaurant home with me and set it up in my backyard. Surprisingly the tap menu could not match the four options being served outside but that was fine seeing the throwback of phosphate drinks. Had one to go and it was fantastic, can highly recommend all vintage soda fountain options here! This restaurant is a classic example of a spot that was once great for dine-in but was never built for takeout or delivery. They've always prioritized their interior atmosphere above everything else, which unfortunately shows in how they handle to-go orders. Instead of a proper pickup area, they make everyone wait at the back kitchen door behind the building. As you stand there, you get glimpses into a cramped, closet-like staging area for to-go bags. It's immediately clear the space also serves as a thoroughfare for garbage bags heading to the dumpster -- and you'll often see them being carried out while you wait. It's not a great first impression. Their famous (and expensive) specialty drinks, like the small milkshakes and Orange Creamsicle soda, are frequently forgotten. If you're picking up in person, you can remind them, but with delivery orders they're rarely included. Even when they do make it into the bag, you're left wondering how long the milkshake sat under the same heat lamps as the rest of the food. The staff's attitude toward delivery drivers is noticeably poor. They treat them (and by extension, customers relying on third-party delivery) as second-class, which is especially evident when drivers who are struggling with English try to report missing items. The whole system feels dismissive. To make matters worse, the staging area seems unsanitary or the back door light attracts bugs. On two separate evening orders, I've had a scurrying beetle crawl out of the tied delivery bag the moment I opened it. The food is boxed, so there's low risk of direct contact, but that's still far more worry than you should have at a boutique-priced burger spot. The food itself is mediocre. The tater tots taste like standard frozen grocery store brand, and the "spicy" upcharge feels excessive for what appears to be a light sprinkle of cayenne. Pre-COVID, this was a place locals proudly brought family and visitors. Now it mostly draws out-of-towners. Many of us locals have been turned off by how the restaurant clearly resents the shift to takeout and delivery that so many customers needed during the pandemic. Extremely disappointing experience after 10 years of coming here This has been a yearly stop for my family and me for the last 10 years whenever we visit Nashville. We've always looked forward to coming here and have recommended Pharmacy Burger to many friends over the years. Unfortunately, our most recent visit completely changed that. I was served food that was clearly raw/undercooked, which is not just a quality issue -- it's a serious food safety hazard and potential health violation. Serving raw food that is supposed to be fully cooked puts customers at risk for foodborne illness, so I immediately brought it to the staff's attention and asked to speak with the manager. Despite requesting the manager multiple times, the manager on duty refused to come to the table. I was essentially blown off and dismissed, which was extremely frustrating given the seriousness of being served unsafe food. There was no apology and no acknowledgment from management at all. Instead, the entire situation was left for the server to handle, and I want to be clear that the server was great and did their best to help and stay professional. But it should never be the server's responsibility to deal with a food safety issue without management stepping in. When a customer is served raw food and specifically asks to speak with a manager, the bare minimum expectation is that the manager comes over, apologizes, and addresses the situation. The fact that the manager refused to come to the table at all reflects very poorly on the management and standards at this restaurant. It's extremely disappointing to say that after 10 years of making this a tradition and recommending it to others, we will no longer be returning or recommending Pharmacy Burger.
