If you're looking for the best IPA in Nashville on tap route locally and want to cool off in a brewery room this is a place to come. Service is excellent and the IPA is remarkable, mild bitter upfront, immediately disappears and leaves your mouth clean and dying for another drink. Plenty of seating and parking inside and outside. Big screen to watch the game and one pool table. Enjoy!
Huge brewery! Plenty of seats. They even have a pool table you can play for free. Family friendly and dog friendly too. Bartender was great! Pep Talk was recommended and my husband said it was really good.
Quality/Quantity - The best breweries are the ones that do not sell food. But they did have a food truck. What a great find. My daughter tricked me into coming here because she wanted boba from Ying Yang Tea, see other review. Decided on the Dreams of Tomorrow - A different unique sea salt and oyster beer. You just have to try it. Atmosphere - What a cool spot. Shot some billiards and drank beer, like I was at home. Oh, no cost to play. :) Also, I am not as good as I used to be, getting old... Indoor and outdoor seating, see pictures. Evenly divided today with the patrons. Cool antique bar, sorry, there were too many people so I was not able to take a good picture. Even the bathrooms had an antique theme. See pictures. Service - 5 stars, friendly and inviting. Price - $7 a beer + generous tips. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2016 here and with your two locations.
This place is phenomenal! Between the amazing selection of fresh drinks and amazing Cabin Attic burgers, this is a great environment to hang with friends. They have indoor and outdoor seating, so it's great for any crowd. Bearded Iris Brewing gives a local feel, for being in a city! If you try the Cabin Attic food truck you HAVE to get the surf shack style fries. Amazing!
This might be the best all-round brewery in Nashville. While it's not the best in ambiance (that would be Monday Night or Fait), nor the best in beer quality (that would be Smith & Lentz or Barrique), or service (that would be Jackalope)...it's just very above average on every one of these aspects. It feels more like a brewer's brewery than most places in town. It's in an industrial part of town and it's in a big boxy warehouse building. On my unofficial ranking scale of the culture of their beer with a 1 being most traditional and a 10 being marshmallow-aged IPA milk sours: I would give this place a 6! They play it safe but aren't afraid to get a little innovative. The ambiance is like a factory that's been converted into your grandfather's rustic library. My only regret is that this was my last stop and I didn't get to sample more of their beers. I was in Nashville for Taylor Swift and I saw a few people IN THE CONCERT with cans of it but... I have no idea where they got them!
Cool brewery In Nashville. I had to stop in because we don't see much Bearded Iris in KC. The tap room is huge! There's plenty of seating and they even have a large patio. Dogs are welcome and I was happy to see some puppers since I was missing mine. The staff were also friendly and helpful. There is a food truck outside but I didn't hit that up. It's a great option though and if I hadn't already had food plans, I would've given it a try because the food looked pretty good. They don't do flights but you can get half pours. Which we did because we wanted to try everything. They have a wide variety of beers that span several styles. I would say they are above average and I'd definitely go back. I really enjoyed the oyster porter.
Very glad we checked this place out. Popped in to have a couple of beers after dinner with friends and it was the perfect place. Plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, and plenty of beer options to choose from.
Hey! Another great brewery in Nashville! We Ubered here after delicious burgers at Joyland. We arrived right at opening and got dibs on their pool table. We ordered their flagship ipa which was pretty good. We then had 10oz pours of a few more, played a few 9 ball sets and walked all the way back to our hotel a little off Broadway. Super nice people here, great beer a must visit place! Cheers!
Bearded Iris seems to be a pretty well established brewery in Nashville. I feel fortunate to have tried one of their beers but I wish that the beer drinking experience would have been just a bit more memorable. And that unfortunately is so often the case with my beer drinking experiences if the beer I'm drinking is going to be memorable or not. I'm looking for something out of the ordinary and all too often it's just a blur where determining what beer from where gets to be hard to sort out. Good thing I keep notes on Untapped. The Scatterbrain IPA ... and in my case the Double Scatterbrain has several different versions and in my case it was the citra version. This is by no means a poorly made beer. It meets all of the basic criteria for this IPA style but as I say time and time again I need something memorable to go off of to issue more stars.
Absolutely amazing brewery for the hop head or causal IPA lover. The outdoor area is solid for those cool summer nights and the indoor main brewing and seating area keeps the AC cranking and the beer flowing. I went with the Homestyle IPA. This was a very smooth IPA, with none of the bitterness that a lot of IPAs seem to have lately. I normally drink pales or blondes and this beer fit perfectly with my current beer palate. They do sell cans of beer to go and from what I saw they don't sell food. I really loved the vibe here and the benches against the wall were super comfy. The bartender (Molly) seemed to be having a bad day, but she was still very helpful with her suggestions and knowledge. I will definitely be back!
Was in Germantown for lunch and realized this brewery was in walking distance. Although we walked, the brewery had a large parking lot. When walking up, there was a food truck in the lot, which is a great food option! The inside was spacious and kind of overwhelming, but it was lively with people. I really enjoyed my IPA.
Don't judge my pictures. I wanted to spend some time sampling these beer, but I didn't have time. So I grabbed a fruited sour and hit the road. Definitely look forward to going back to get a few from the tap.
Bearded Iris is a great stop for a a weekend beer (or brew crawl)! The service was very friendly. Inside they offer darts & a pool table, and a decent amount of seating. There is also an outdoor patio (bonus points because the tables have umbrellas)! I tried the Pharmacy Pils & Tunnel Vision IPA. They are known for their brew Homestyle. It is clear why it's such a Nashville staple- good beers, good service, good vibes! read more

Stopped by Bearded Iris for a quick drink before our dinner reservation nearby, and I'm so glad we did! The vibe is super chill and welcoming, definitely the kind of place where you can hang out for a while. They've got a great selection of their own brews on tap (something for every beer lover), plus a few other drink options if beer's not your thing. The patio has plenty of picnic tables, perfect for sipping that cold one, playing a board game, and enjoying the Germantown vibe. Inside, there's even more room to spread out, catch a game on TV, or shoot some pool. Loved the atmosphere, loved the beer -- we'll definitely be back soon! read more

Cool atmosphere, friendly staff. They definitely take covid protocol seriously which I appreciate. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They had decent beer; however I did not like that there was no variety of beer styles. Their entire menu besides for one option were IPAs. While I love IPAs, I think they should branch out a bit. read more
We visited a bunch of breweries on our Nash trip and this one was our favorite. It was really comfortable and the vibe was cool. Chandeliers were a nice touch. Seating inside and out. Parking lot and street parking. No food when we went. Lots of variety of beer options. We really enjoyed the wavelength and the double home style ipa. read more

Bearded Iris Brewing in Germantown is a great spot to grab a relaxed drink. Many places in the area are more upscale so it's nice to have a brewery in this neighborhood that is more casual. They have a pool table inside with a bar and surrounding seating. They have a nice spacious patio in the front as well. I ordered the pils to drink and I enjoyed it. My friend and I had a good experience and would definitely return. They sometimes have food vendor pop ups as well so it's a good idea to check their Instagram and see what they have going on. read more
You can find this location of Bearded Iris at 101 Van Buren St, Nashville, TN 37208 in East Germantown. The building looks to be an old factory with a drive to one side that looks industrial. I parked in the lot as it was early but I'm betting parking can get a bit crazy on the weekends. I believe that this is the original brewery location and the place that holds Bearded Iris' primary brewhouse. It's an interesting location in that it appears more like a giant factory than your typical brewery - as you approach the entrance you'll find a patio extending to the right that fills up quickly on busy days - inside there's a bar towards the back that provides service - most people seem to queue up to a taproom employee on the right. Behind is a menu with the current offerings, I believe they have around 16 taps. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the beer at Bearded Iris - I think they make some of the best New England IPAs in the region - they tend to be richly juicy, packed with citrus and tropicals and great hops. I think they are superior in that regard - I think where the hate comes in for me is their handling of sours and imperials - while they are competent with both, their great approach to IPAs wants me to hold them to a higher standard and that's where they fall down a bit. Don't get me wrong, I've had some great barrel aged stouts from Iris as well as some very good sours, I just think in general they aren't of the same high degree as the NEIPAs. But thats for all use beer nerds - for most people visiting the NEIPAs are just amazing and that's good enough, when it comes down to it it's all about your customers, and this is definitely a worthwhile destination for most hopheads. On this day I looked over the menu and there were only a few items that I hadn't had in the past. I focused on the single sour and sampled an IPA. * Brightline Imperial Sour 4/5 - Very tart, big raspberry notes with a touch of sweetness on the finish. * Dot & Dash Imperial IPA 3.9/5 - Fairly bright NEIPA with hazy body, notes of stone fruit and citrus, finishes a bit green. This location doesn't appear to be air conditioned (it shares space with the brewhouse so not unexpected) so be prepared on hot days. Service here was very good but there was a fairly long wait in line to get served - next time I visit I'll get two drinks instead of the single. Overall I like the brewery and intend to visit either this location or Sylvan Supply, depending on where I'm located. read more

I have had BI many times but this was my first time to the brewery myself and boy was I glad I finally got to go! I LOVE that they have half pours. It gives me a chance to buy more stuff. I personally like half pours much better than flights. Follow them on social media platforms to find out about special releases and definitely go to the anniversary party if you can! BEER - I love Homestyle. I normally dont get the "flagship" beer at a brewery but this is definitely an exception because this is one of my favorite all time beers from any brewery. I recommend any of the hazy IPAs because thats what I think BI does so well above the competition. ATMOSPHERE - I went twice on my trip to Nashville so I was able to see the place on a Tuesday night just before close and on a Saturday night when it was super busy. Both were great experiences with great beers and conversation with friends. I got to talk to the bartender quite a bit on Tuesday about what special releases they have recently had and about some other breweries in the southeast he likes. I took home several cans to share with my friends and I will be back soon! read more

This place was a disappointment. I can get their beers where I live in Myrtle Beach, but I actually paid MORE here at the actual brewery than I do in Myrtle! Their IPA's were 7 bucks a full pour on up. Their menu board has no prices so you have to ask about every single beer. In fact, their menu board says very little about each individual beer...no abv info, no IBU's, nothing. Again, you have to ask. Now this wouldn't be the biggest problem, but the beer girl was not friendly at all. It was obvious she didn't want to answer any questions or explain anything. She gave no recommendations either. This was a 1 and done visit for us...got our 1 and then headed for the door and friendlier folk at Southern Grist. She was quick to say they only do half and full pours when I asked her for a free sample of one of their beers I'd never tried. No free samples here. It's definitely rustic inside and the taproom seemed like an add-on after they'd built their brew house the way they wanted. One cool thing, they allow dogs! Their Wifi signal was good, so there's that, but based on the beertender girl, her attitude, no info on their menu board, no samples, etc., we were so turned off, I don't think I'll be buying any of their beers ever again, anywhere. There's soooooo many amazing breweries out there and my world won't change one bit if Bearded Iris isn't in it, just as theirs won't change without me. read more

Solid beers with a rapidly changing lineup. Unique sours? Got em. Dank IPAs? This is the spot. They've got a pool table, plenty of outdoor seating, and the best brewery merch designs in town. Get a few half pours and try everything on the menu. read more

Hot damn they got some good beer at Bearded Iris. A friend of mine picked this for after lunch at Princes and I'm soooo happy. I honestly can't remember the last time I tasted beers and had a "wow, that's amazing" moment after each one. I tried the pilsner (I think... it was something light), and a new england IPA which was properly opaque, but my favorite was the Wild Side IPA. So. Much. Flavor. Inside this glass. They have a pool table and some fun sitting areas inside... otherwise it look like, you know, a brewery. We mostly spent our time outside at the picnic tables to enjoy the beautiful weather. And in the bathroom because we just ate enough hot chicken to kill a moose... sorry bathroom... you did not win that day. (insert sad face emoji) read more
A local craft brewery that specializes in IPA's. I was recommended this place by a bartender in my hometown of Orlando, so when business brought me to Nashville, I took the opportunity to check this place out. While not a huge fan of IPA, their Homestyle, their signature beer, definitely has changed my mind. It is incredible. I enjoyed the citrus hints and overall flavor. The atmosphere is definitely engaging. Kind of formal overtones in a dive setting. Check it out, you will see what I mean. The bartenders are attentive and friendly. My only complaint is that their beer to go (in four packs) is pretty high. Most craft breweries have a six pack at ten dollars, here it is fifteen or sixteen dollars. My son is a huge fan of craft beers and I bring him beer from my travels. Check this place out. If you are a fan of IPA's, you'll love it. If you aren't, you might find yourself a convert. read more
If you're into a chill vibe with tons of outdoor seating and great beer, you're in for a treat at BIBCO. Great staff and even better beers. They even offer half beers that let you sample more on the menu. They pour new styles every week. This is a must see in Nashville. read more
When in Nashville, my boyfriend and I went to visit Bearded Iris Brewing. The brewery was kind of out in the middle of nowhere and kind of like a factory style building. We pulled in and parked in their gravel parking lot and walked up their long walkway. I liked the setup of the brewery outside and inside. It was very busy when we got there, so we each got a few craft beers to try and sat down at one of their hightop tables to drink them and then leave. Staff was nice but to the point because they were so busy. Neat brewery! read more

If Southern Grist didn't make me fall in love with Nashville beer, Bearded Iris was sure to. I was excited for our entire trip to make it in here. When you go in.. you can't escape the hop smell. It reminded me of entering a bourbon distillery and smelling the corn but with hops! I was there to see if they had any of their Mood Ring cans and they did. The particular four-pack I picked up was a Mai Tai Mood Ring IPA w/cherries, tangerine, lime, and almonds. It also had vanilla and lactose. I can't even explain how delicious this beer is. I NEED MORE! I also tried a half pour of the V. Latte. Imperial Oat Stout. Delicious. I do wish you could get a flight here. As it stands, you can buy four-packs, crowlers, full pours, and half pours. The half pour option is nice but if I could try four or five smaller pours for 10 or 12 bucks, I'd love it. They currently don't have many beers on tap so being able to try the majority of them would be awesome... especially considering their cans run from $15 and up. My Mood Ring cans were a limited release which made them $19. Trust me... my cans were worth every penny but had I been able to try a flight, I probably would've picked up more cans. Since visiting, I've found many of their cans around from time to time. They also had a tapping event at Great Flood here in Louisville. You can usually find their flagship Homestyle on tap everywhere. I've also seen Tunnel Vision around. This place might not edge ahead of Southern Grist for me but it deserves the 5-star treatment. The hop smell, the great brews(mostly IPA related), and the atmosphere make this place a must visit. read more

I know this is a silly one, but is it only beer?
Yes. They only sale the craft beer that they brew.
Is there free parking available? If so where?
Free at the brewery itself, huge lot.
