We were required to work with Founders because of our builder. In the beginning they were extremely nice and helpful. I was very specific about wanting a seamless paneled refrigerator and even went to a more expensive cabinet line to achieve the look. However, when the cabinets were installed, it was not the seamless look I have been promised. Because they had already been paid, they were non-responsive. We are extremely disappointed with the outcome after spending so much money. Sadly it still has not been resolved. read more

Founders installed all the cabinets in our new home and they are of very high quality. Due to some tile work we had to have done, they were damaged. They were able to be repaired and touched up to look like new. Matt did a wonderful job for us! He was respectful and very informative, beside doing very good work. We got new kitchen cabinets from them about 6 years ago when renovating our kitchen. The cabinets are just so-so-- look good, but flimsy bottoms and prone to chipping on the veneers. Their designer was very good, but the other staff was pretty unfriendly (in particular the girl at the front desk). What really gets me is that we are now looking at reconfiguring the kitchen again (more of an adjustment than a real renovation), and I want to keep the same cabinets. I contacted Founders to see if they could help reconfigure the island (that they installed!) and got a great, big NO. I guess they only want the work if they can make maximum profit. That's their prerogative as a business, but it sure doesn't do much for their customer service. read more

Very poor customer service. We felt like they really didn't want our business since we only needed a small replacement panel. First they sent us to another shop that didn't pan out. Next they took our order but submitted it wrong even though they had a photo to go by. We didn't notice the panel was made wrong until it was installed. When we brought it to their attention (Carley), we were completely ignored. In the whole process her follow up was negligent to nonexistent. We had to actually drop in to speak with her as she did not call back or email. No acknowledgement of the mistake, no apology, no attempt to correct it. Very different experience at the start with the sales and initial installation process as compared to the service side of things. If it was only sales and install, I would give this company 5 stars. But as of now, we have been living at the home for several months and seemingly simple issues that were raised months ago are still not corrected. Attempts to get a hold of the company are challenging at best. Appointment windows missed or ignored. Promises for return visits and getting the issue corrected are broken. Founders planned and installed all cabinets in our new home, including the kitchen, the bars and 7 bathrooms. The sales person Shannon was very professional and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to measure and draw and revise to our fullest satisfaction. She made many trips to the worksite both before, during , and after the installation. The installation team, in particular the lead installer, Mario, was amazingly capable. They showed up each time at the time they said they were going to show up, finished everything, and offered to come back to redo something because they felt (not we felt) that it was not 100%. My husband and I could not believe the level of customer care we received, particularly at today's environment. The cabinets we ordered are mid tier in pricing but of very good quality. Sort of disappointed since I was referred to them and the flyer I received said open Saturday's 9-noon. Drove from Ellenwood only to see the sign on the door was Saturday's are appt only. I have been using Founders fo over 30 years- They are experts at kitchen redesign and best thing is they carry multitude of different price points and manufacturers of cabinets. This gives my customers choice depending on budget. They have Always responded to warranty repair in timely manner for all my customers even years after installation. Like so many, my kitchen renovation turned into a nightmare. Founders came in late in the game and worked hard to help me achieve the style and color cabinets that I wanted. My account manager listened. She came up with suggestions that fine tuned my plan. Now, a year after installation I had a problem. They were out promptly to fix it. Buyer Beware ! The sales associate Pat was unresponsive from day one not answering phone calls or emails in the beginning. Always had an excuse.. my email is down, my phone etc . I told my contractor and was not happy..My Remodel contractor asked to give them a chance as they do very good work and she was busy. (really guess we were just chopped liver)..we had already looked at 4 different places and did our due diligence on solid wood cabinets. Finally Pat came out and she had a good sales pitch, showing me a piece of "Solid Maple" which she told me was from Canada. I was told the outer shell would be made from the Solid Maple and the inside made from particle board or as they call it MDX board. I had to constantly request a quote from her and she always had an excuse about being busy.. guess that was a sign that I should have taken.. after several attempts she finally gave us a quote of $3552.00 for a 72 inch bathroom vanity. My wife and I both thought.. okay, we are doing a big remodel and the SOLID MAPLE would look beautiful. Fast forward.. cabinet arrived, only thing that is SOLID MAPLE is the doors and drawers. The Outside is particle board. The installer took some stringers out of the back and left huge staples sticking out of the cabinet (See photos) . Finally Matt the finish guy came out and was great.. he did his work as expected, very professional and I was impressed with him even stating they had a full lifetime warranty. We had "solid oak" vanities less than half the cost at the local warehouse store. Beautiful cabinets, but unprofessional sales agents and awful customer service. Make sure you get everything in writing, expect delays, and be patient. They require 100% up front, but will offer a credit card option for 2% extra. Personally, I'm glad I took the credit card option. I currently have a $200 dispute pending. Their Installer removed 2 can lights during installation that he didn't tell me about. I found the cans on a shelf days later. Sales agent said Founders would pay for my electrician to come back and re-install, but then I was told by my sales agent weeks later that the owner decided he didn't want to pay the bill. My cabinets were over $8,000, and the installer left 2 open electrical sockets covered up in my wall without saying a word to me, I was absolutely shocked and disappointed to hear they refused to take responsibility.
