One young man helps customers transport large items to their vehicles. They also let you borrow trolleys to get things to your car. I usually get my rock salt here in the winter and garden supplies here in the summer. All departments are helpful. I was in the plumbing department recently and was looking for something very small that I located immediately and the person working downstairs greeted me and asked if I needed assistance. Their staff are not only friendly and efficient but also extremely well-informed about their merchandise and willing to give advice; this is important to me because I have the mechanical aptitude of a mildly retarded gerbil. I've gotten the same attention whether I was buying two screws or a new Weber grill, and no one has ever tried to upsell me. My most recent experience was buying, yes, a new Weber grill from Jim Carmalt. He was exceptionally knowledgeable about every aspect of their stock and how best to use it. It was almost like talking to an old friend who had my best interest as a high priority. I thin of Village Hardware as sort of the anti-Home Depot/Loew's, I get personal service of a high order and always leave confident that I have a high-quality product and even higher quality advice. "Slim" here made a working copy which then could be copied again, some of which worked. I don't know why this key was so meddlesome but the employees here took on a difficult task and helped me out until it was complete. Customer service is what makes a hardware store, so I can confidently say, having been to about a dozen of them over the last 13 years, this is the best in the area.

Backing out of their main parking spots goes right into the street, so it's a bit difficult. You just have to be extra careful of oncoming vehicles. I picked up some items from an order I placed on their app. There was no line, the employee assisted me right away, and he saw I was in a camwalker boot, so he offered to assist me with loading really heavy soil into my vehicle. Great service, great experience, and would recommend!
