I think it was $3.29 for a small frosty soft serve cone. I walked in about one in the afternoon... Sized up the menu and decided I was going to buy something anyway? So I waited... Staff member glanced my way and stepped aside.. And I waited. And I waited... Then my wife came in, and we waited. I'm absolutely sure there was nobody in the drive through... At this point I'm pretty sure we had stood there for at least about 3 minutes, it could have been a fraction more... I was going to call out for attention but then I'm thinking... Whoever helps us is going to dispense my soft serve and make it smaller or bigger? We walked out mildly disappointed, but thinking that we might have been intentionally ignored. We exchange a remark and sort of decided that. The wait staff was indifferent, unattentive and even had a manner that said.... They really didn't care! We could draw that conclusion from casual observation. So why drop it down to one star? I think that it's within the realm of reason... Combined with a rather unprofessional finishing to the left of the counter with what look like and appearance that look like it was made with junky wood pallets. It's one of the old time burger joints that didn't get caught up in the mega fast food chains. I also realize that the new minimum wage in California has compelled Fosters Freeze to increase their prices. Regrettably, I won't be taking my grandson there in the future because of it. read more

This location is very old and ran down. We came around dinner time and the burger was an old Patty. There are old computers on half the dining chairs and it's taped off with caution tape. We arrived in the drive thru but didn't know what we wanted yet, so I let her know and she said "take your time and let me know when you're ready" less than a minute later she snottily said "what can I get for you?" We go home to find out that the Texas toast (ha, what a joke Texas bread, it is not toasted) and the whole thing was covered in lettuce, tomato and pickles!!! What part of spread only didn't she understand? And their so called Ranch dressing is disgusting. Most restaurants have delicious Ranch dressing better than any you can buy in a store. It took so long to get our ice cream that we wanted to leave, but we were stuck in the drive thru without a way to escape. The reason was because a female employee was loudly arguing with the car in front of us about 'who loved who' more. Foster's Freeze what's a good place to stop and grab a burger and fries if you are on the go or just want to sit down. Or you could get one of their ice creams. I try to avoid the ice creams because I'm trying to watch my figure. So I ate a burger and fries instead. I know that sounds counterproductive but imagine if I had the ice cream too. I don't know why it's listed as a double money sign, its fast food. It should be a single money sign. Its burgers, fries, and shakes. It's not a ten dollar burger. The staff are friendly. I've been coming here for my entire life as I live nearby. The only complaint I have is that the staff really don't use any consistency in the ice cream; your cone size is usually dependent on which server makes your cone, or even the order when they make them. I've consistently gotten "large" cones that are either utterly massive or smaller than a medium. The staff is also always so slow; I waited a full minute before someone spoke to me on the speaker, only for them to say "hello?". It was like I was bothering them. Pull up to the window to order and they've all got their backs to the window, phones in hand, just talking. I'm all for enjoying work, especially when there's no customers there, but to do that while I was actually waiting made it seem just so rude. I have payed using that card before and everything was good. She then tells me that they got a new machine and it doesn't take those kind of cards. I live about 20 miles from this Foster's Freeze, so take-out isn't an option - the food would get cold in the travel time. I don't get why this location has been let go to this extent but I guess I won't go back unless they clean up the joint and get rid of the dirt, stickiness, and the roach I saw crawling on the floor during my visit. I will say the flavors were good, and the consistency was also good. But given the choice I'd probably still prefer Dairy Queen over this place.
