Fortune House has two locations: we've only tried Schaumburg so far. The meal deals are great, we love the general chicken. Recently, we tried the appetizer platter, since we are already obsessed with their egg rolls, and it was pretty good. The crab rangoons were awesome and the meat was tasty. Personally, I wasn't wowed by the shrimp but they weren't bad. The soup serving sizes are wonderful, and the egg drop is thick and delicious. Ordered an assortment of food for three hearty eaters, takeout, got it home, started to plate it up and called over the other two victims. We all agreed the only recognizable scent was heat. So happy to finally find an "old fashioned" restaurant serving chop suey. Strictly pickup or delivery. We ordered beef chop suey, egg foo young, dim sum and egg rolls. So $50 for 2 dinners, fair price, but no bargain. Once home and set up, the food was inedible. Dim sum was mostly wrapper, egg rolls not even as good as frozen supermarket ones. There was no sauces for our egg rolls, fried wontons or even enough gravy for the 2 no flavor egg foo young patties. The food was luke warm, absolutly no flavor to any of the 4 dishes we had ordered. Oof Not sure what is going on here. We had a lrg order- the sweet and sour chicken was fine as usual. No complaints there. But we ordered 2 new things which I will not get again. A small Beef & Broccoli for $12 with beef that was awful! Fatty and hard to chew. The broccoli was a lot of "stalk" that takes up space in the container. Who eats the hard stalks? I placed an order at 7:36 and was told it would be delivered around 8:21pm. At 9pm I called asking where my food was. They said it had gotten dropped off. I like this Chinese food. I think it's pretty good. They have a great selection and I'm a fan of them allowing me to add on cashews or peanuts and water chestnuts to any of my dishes because I particularly like those add-ons in my Chinese dishes. read more

Ordered the Hunan Beef with extra beef, Chicken with garlic sauce and pot stickers. Yes the pot stickers were thick and doughy, only place that has thin dough is Twin Dragons. BUT Fortune House has delivery (Twin Dragons doesn't) and Fortune House gives you a lot more for your money. Good amount of meat, a lot of crispy, crunchy (no over done) vegetables, bell pepper, water crestnut, carrots, broccoli and bean spouts in a rich creamy nice rich gravy. The garlic chicken was likewise very good. This week I've been trying out many of the Chinese restaurants around Hanover Park and for the money - so far, Fortune House gives you the biggest bang for your buck. I am really disappointed in this restaurant. Under normal circumstances this place is great, but they conveniently "forgot" to make mg order on Christmas Eve when everything else was closed. They said I could come get it if I wanted - but it was 10 degrees outside and I had already been waiting over an hour since I placed the order. Then I was told that I would have to wait 3 days for their charge to fall off my credit card. Highly upset with this place on Christmas Eve. Since I originally wrote my review I've been to Fortune House a million times and also catered my company's Holiday party this year. I stand by my original statements that this is the best Chinese food in Schaumburg. I've tried tons of dishes on the menu and have never had a bad meal. They have very good eggrolls which are a truly rare find at Chinese places. I suggest getting delivery because going into the actual storefront is sometimes weird dealing with the young college aged guys that man that front area. Lunch specials went up a quarter so are now $5.75 but the deal still cannot be beat. With lunch specials you get an eggroll, can of pop and huge portion of your desired entree. The portion is really so large, I can only make my way through half of it and then always end up with dinner out of it, too! Score! You can't go wrong with their Sesame Chicken, I really think it's the best I've had anywhere. General Tso's Chicken is also a winner with a hint of spice that someone with super low tolerance to fire like myself can handle! Moo Goo Gai Pan is delicious here, as well as the crowd pleaser Sweet & Sour Chicken. ....Can you tell I like chicken dishes? :P If you're in Schaumburg and looking for Chinese delivery or pickup, I would steer you straight to Fortune House. read more

Always quick, consistent service. Have everything you would want in Chinese cuisine.

I have been ordering delivery from them for years. Recently they have been getting the orders consistently wrong. While they will refund individual products, when you order a main course and side it's $20 for the food but then another $10 for all the delivery charges. I ended up with a small snack and no main course and no drink for $20 instead of a full meal and drink for $30. no recourse what so ever. I will unfortunately need to discontinue any business with them. read more
