Alta Mere Auto Care - This was the charge we had to pay the other shop for the assessment to take everything out find the problem, and fix it

Brad and the team at Alta Mere saved my 2006 Land Cruiser after two prominent Fort Worth shops told…read moreme the engine was blown and needed a full replacement. The truck sat for 18 months. Brad diagnosed the real problem in 24 hours - a single bolt that someone forgot to install properly, lodged in the valves. One head job and I was back on the road the next day. The 2UZ-FE is Toyota's legendary million-mile motor, and those other shops wanted to swap it out for profit. Brad just wanted to fix my truck. Five years a customer, 285,000+ miles still rolling. If you want honest expertise in Fort Worth, this is the shop. Period. Don't let the noise fool you - Brad's integrity is the real deal.

I took my van into this shop due to fluid being on my driveway. They told me it was the oil cooler…read morethat needed replaced and charged me $1224.15 which was almost $400 more than other shops in the city. But because they pressed the urgency, I didn't call around, I chose to trust them. Within 5 miles from the shop my check engine light came on so I turned back around and they told me it showed the knock sensor code but manager cleared it and sent me on my way saying if it came back on to bring it back. It came on a couple of hours later, but they were closed. So my husband went with me the next morning to take it back and they refused to check the work they had done unless we authorized in advance for them to replace what they feel necessary, which we were unwilling to do as this occurred immediately after THEIR repair AND my bank account shows they changed my charge from the 1224.15 I authorized, paid, and have a receipt for, to $1263.93!! The next day we took it to a more reputable shop who confirmed that the mechanics who replaced my oil cooler "SMASHED THE KNOCK SENSOR HARNESS DURING THE REPLACEMENT"!!!! We had to pay another $445.00 to fix what Alta Mere Auto damaged and haven't seen a cent returned to us for the unauthorized price change nor the amount we had to pay another shop to fix what their mechanics messed up after I reported the issue to the owners assistant. Never ever trust these people, they will price gouge you, deceit you, damage other parts to get more money from you, and destroy any trust you hold towards mechanics.

Well... I had an interesting thing that happened here at the spot…read more First it's just a small shop across from Maxine's just south of the traffic circle. Let's just say there were some things that happened to my car that were not happening before I pulled into the car lot. They obviously did something to cause something wrong but immediately when I told the guy it wasn't doing that before I got here.. he said OK will look at it and will fix the problem. He said if we did something they would get fixed. Everything worked out so I am a happy customer. I did have to come back a couple days later to actually get my inspection done on my car. I had two tires put on that I brought to them and air pressure was wrong so again I had to come back for that as well... But for some reason I will still say I like this place they may need to get some guys with a little more experience in the shop but they are quick to fix a mistake and very kind about it. Not to mention the guy in the front (I should have gotten his name) was very nice and friendly and had all the laughs. I will go back to this place to have my other tire put on as well... Maybe even the inspection.

horrible place lie about warrranties had to get my pump replaced 4 times because they didn't do it…read morecorrectly then 1 day later it broke again!! then when I went back the owner claimed its not their fault its the part that THEY boughts faul and they can't fix it anymore.Stay away from these people. If you want your car to actually get fixed not a temporary go somewhere else
