I was wowed by my experience at Kwik Kar. Nate helped me out. I called ahead and asked some questions about car alignment. They were not busy, even an hour before close, and they got me in and out and took time to show me what was going on with my car. I explained that I was on-call for work, and Nate accommodated me and got me out very quickly, as well as taking time to explain what was going on with my car. This place is Great!!! I drive an old GMC truck that has a lot of miles on him and Kwik Kar (Camp Bowie) has helped me and Ol Buford out for years now. Anything from a kwik oil changes, to annual state inspection, to some starters and alternators, they even helped me with some basic engine repairs from time to time. The guys @ Kwik Kar have always been very professional to me. They take time and answer my questions, they always show me the damaged items, and IF additional work needs to be done they also give me a price range BEFORE they proceeded with any repairs. Holy cow. Used a Groupon but was still essentially charged for a full oil change because apparently my car requires a "special" oil filter. The manager is a real jerk and made a couple of smart ass remarks to me when I turned my back to him to go to the bathroom. I would have walked out if not for the hassle of the Groupon that I had already paid for. I will not return to this or any other Kwik Kar. THIEVES!!! I took my car to get fixed. I forgot my airpods in my car. I tracked the location after I had dropped off my car for repairs and it was still at the shop. I picked up my car I couldn't find them so I tracked the location and it was at a house. I had to file a report and thanks to the Detective I was able to get my airpods back. I am always skeptical of car repair shops! I'm a chick and I have had many a shop try to rip me off. I called around and these guys had the best prices. I needed a ton of work- inspection, oil change, windshield wipers, brakes and headlight repair. The price quoted one the phone is what they charged- I also received a discount on a few items. I dropped my car off around 9 am on a Saturday and I was able to pick it up when I got off work that evening. I went here for an oil change and state Auto inspection. I was told that I have a master cylinder leak. I looked at the master cylinder, is had old engine grime, but no evidence of a current leak. I had to take it to a car wash, and clean the engine. I brought it back, no leak. The mechanic doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. I've been to this location for several things for my car, including oil, inspections, alignment, etc. I stopped by on my way home to get my check engine light checked, unbeknownst to me, the 10 minute service would cost me $85.00 to simply tell me the cause of my check engine light. Had I known, I would have turned around and gone to AutoZone, or Pepboys, or O'Reilly, for free. This charge was absurd for service and amount of time spent on my car. I will never return to this Kwik Kar, and probably not any others. read more

I showed up this morning to get my state inspection taken care of. I arrived around 7:50 to avoid any wait. They opened at 8 and the front desk guy took my keys and proceeded to start. The inspection took about 20 minutes and I had absolutely no problems. My car is a 2006 so it is fairly new but they didn't try to talk me into any unnecessary services. I also had a $10 off coupon from valpak so it came out to be $29.75. In the end, they were very professional and did a great job! read more

if you want an oil change ok. I asked if they could do a diagnostic for my check engine light and they charged me $90 for what AutoZone did for free. Replace a thermostat they told me they would need to change the coolant and the charge would be over $200. Thermostat was $9. at Auto Zone and website install instructions show no coolant required. Very unhappy with my experience here. I came in to get an oil change, pretty standard procedure. I always prepare myself for the up sell that I will inevitably hear; ma'am you need a new air filter for your cabin, you need a new air filter for your engine, etc. Along with the standard rhetoric, I was also told my transition pan gasket was not sealing and my transmission was leaking; to the tune of $250 for the repair. Sounds pretty dire and I was of course very concerned. I told the man I would have to come back as I didn't have the time right then. I immediately started calling around for a second opinion and other quotes. I had a second party look at my vehicle and it is in fact NOT LEAKING. How dare a business attempt to prey on the trust of their customers just to get more money out of them? I will never be back and I will make sure as many people know about your shady business practices as well. read more
