I'll admit, George's Muffler is one of those places that from the exterior you think "This looks…read moresketchy" but my other mechanic told me "I don't do mufflers but go to George's on James Ave. He does good work and it's cheap" How cheap? I wondered to myself. George's is in an old late 1950's gas station building. It's got that wall of glass with post-space age steel girder look on the front. George and his employees put in a new muffler, including labor and tax, for 60 bucks. Yeah, that's it. 60 bucks. My car is quiet again. Thanks George! They're very friendly inside that sketchy lookin' store that now no longer looks sketchy to me. It's near Seminary Drive and from now on, George is my muffler go to guy.

I left my vehicle with this mechanic for approximately 2-3 months, and the process was extremely…read morefrustrating and disappointing. One of the parts that was replaced was a part that, based on what I was told, did not actually need to be replaced. I specifically questioned whether it needed to be changed, but I followed his recommendation and had the work done. The biggest issue, however, was the repeated lack of communication and inaccurate promises regarding when my vehicle would be ready. I was told approximately 4-5 different times that I would be able to pick up my vehicle on a specific day, only for that day to come and go without the vehicle being ready. Whenever I tried to get an update, my messages were often ignored, and I would have to call repeatedly to get an answer. When I did finally reach him, I was repeatedly told, "tomorrow," but tomorrow kept getting pushed back. At one point, I was told my vehicle would be ready on a Saturday, even though the shop is closed on weekends. This made the situation even more frustrating and made me question the accuracy of the information I was being given. My vehicle has now been sitting at the shop for approximately three weeks longer than I was repeatedly told it would, and the same promise of "it will be ready tomorrow" continued without being fulfilled. I understand that unexpected delays can happen with vehicle repairs, but the lack of communication, repeated inaccurate timelines, and having to constantly chase down updates made this experience extremely disappointing. Customers deserve honest communication and realistic expectations, even when a repair takes longer than anticipated. Based on my experience, I would not return to this shop or recommend it to others.

Then I see the sign Texas Track Works. Yup, I'm in the right place. There is small waiting room when you enter the door, then a bigger room in the back to wait for your alignment. After waiting a few minutes for one of workers to come in, another customer told me they should be right back. Apparently this is popular spot for guys that autocross their cars. A moment later I was greeted by one of the workers. He had my appointment, and told me it would just be a little bit as they ran into an issue with car before me, no problem, I understand. He asked me some questions to get an idea of what my alignments need were. Simple, just wanted to drive on the freeway a little straighter after hitting potholes with all this construction going on. They took my car in, and were done pretty quickly. They gave me the readout, and explained the adjustments they made to return it to stock settings. He also told me to try it out, and if it didn't feel right, just bring it back. I drove it home, and it felt more solid, and straighter. I brought my car here, because of the reviews, and I'm glad I did. I originally went to another shop and they told me they had to keep my car for atleast half a day to do adjustments, and it was going to cost 3x as much as these guys. These guys are honest and know what they are doing. If you're unsure what's wrong with your alignment or ride, just bring it here. There are too many bad shops out there trying to rip people off. Besides these guys don't want your car to take up space & time, because they have so much business.

I had an interesting experience. Let me tell you about it. I called and asked if, I could drop off my SUV. He said, they are already full. He offered to get me in at 8am or in the afternoon the next day. I said, I'd be there in the afternoon. I went up there and he said, they were full, then another guy said , they were full too. So, that left me w the impression they didn't want to do it that day. I decided, I wouldn't push it but, I did let one of the guys know. He told me to come back at 3ish. I did and he wasn't there but the other guy took care of it. There was one other car ahead of me and then he said , he would get to my vehicle and it would take 45m. He timed it perfectly. I was thankful about his honesty regarding wait time and completing the Oil Change in 45. The waiting room is small with a few chairs inside and is not that cool. It may be because it's a window ac. Also,They have not paid their Netflix account so, you can't watch Netflix but they have Tubi and Roku. There was a Nigerian lady talking on speaker phone and another guy complaining about how he should have been informed about the services before being charged. I agree w him. I brought it to the service advisor's attention that, I may not need an Oil change. I just assumed so because, my maintenance light was on. He said, he would check it . I expected him to explain why it needed to be changed or show me but, he didn't? He changed it and I found out, it didn't need to be changed. My oil is changed every 10k miles. I didn't receive a receipt either. I don't know what kind of oil was used, how many qts were used. He also removed my oil reminder stickers wo asking. I wanted those for my records. He also, messed with my dimmer knob so my Control Panel was dim. Ugg, so uncomfortable. The Service Advisor was knowledgeable with Groupon too that's a plus. Their Internet was slow so, I had to go outside to redeem by Groupon. Also, the parking lot is pretty full so space can be tight. The music is cranked up load in the shop too. So, if your ok with this type of atmosphere come here. If, not look elsewhere.
