I'm very happy to report that Greased Lightening can do that emissions inspection, and fix you up with an oil change as well, as we did with our sweet little Mustang automobile recently. The guys are always pleasant and helpful. They have a waiting room with a television set that plays shows that remind me of home. They have a pop machine if you're thirsty, and the prices for those sodas are quite reasonable. Also, I always appreciate the mechanic shops whose waiting rooms have a coffee table full of a variety of magazines, as they do at Greased Lightening. We appreciate these guys a great deal. I took my car to Kwik Kar for a routine oil change and had no complaints about the oil change…read moreitself. However, afterward I was given an estimate for **$914** for a valve cover gasket, ignition coils, and spark plugs after being told that my car was currently leaking oil. I was surprised because I had not noticed any issues with my car, and I take very good care of it and keep up with regular maintenance. I drove the car home so my father could take a look at it, and he was unable to find anything concerning that matched what I had been told at Kwik Kar. Since my car had just reached 100,000 miles, he went ahead and replaced the spark plugs as routine maintenance, which cost approximately $150. As a 25-year-old woman with very limited knowledge about cars, I left this experience feeling completely taken advantage of. I understand that vehicles sometimes need repairs, but recommending nearly $1,000 in repairs when I had no symptoms and when a second look did not reveal the issues described to me is extremely concerning. I expect honesty and transparency from a business, especially when customers may not have the knowledge to question a recommended repair. This experience was unacceptable, and I will not be returning.

I went in and asked for the $39.99 oil change they had posted out front, he took my car and then came back in about 15 minutes and charged me $90 for "synthetic oil." I asked him why he wouldn't have mentioned that in the beginning and he just said that's how it is. Their work seems to be fine, but they triple the price on everything and aren't very transparent. There's other places that'll treat you good around here.

Also got a "discount" off a large bill because they kept my car for a week instead of a couple of days so they "paid the other part out of their pocket"... or the original amount was overcharged? Well... I had an interesting thing that happened here at the spot…read more First it's just a small shop across from Maxine's just south of the traffic circle. Let's just say there were some things that happened to my car that were not happening before I pulled into the car lot. They obviously did something to cause something wrong but immediately when I told the guy it wasn't doing that before I got here.. he said OK will look at it and will fix the problem. He said if we did something they would get fixed. Everything worked out so I am a happy customer. I did have to come back a couple days later to actually get my inspection done on my car. I had two tires put on that I brought to them and air pressure was wrong so again I had to come back for that as well... But for some reason I will still say I like this place they may need to get some guys with a little more experience in the shop but they are quick to fix a mistake and very kind about it. Not to mention the guy in the front (I should have gotten his name) was very nice and friendly and had all the laughs. I will go back to this place to have my other tire put on as well... Maybe even the inspection.
