Horrible experience. I hired them to remove 4 walls during an entire renovation of my house over 2 years. My general contractor does it all, but removing load bearing walls so I hired Forsyth Remodeling to just remove the walls. They were more than other contractors but I wanted to make sure it was done properly as this was the ground floor in a 2+ story home. Work began and quickly went downhill. Some walls were not load bearing and Jay told me there was no way to return the $1.3k in wood materials no longer needed and I was stuck with the extra wood!!! Electric lines were cut from outlets and they refused to re connect them without me paying additional. Same thing for the lights. So now there is NO power to the kitchen, entryway, and living room. I had wires hanging from the ceiling, walls and floors uncapped. I texted Jay multiple times halfway through the week, he just kept saying if you want us to do anything with the power you have to pay more. So they have no problem cutting the lines. They just refuse to Reconnect them The contract stated that drywall was to be put up at the end and I kept questioning him how they could put drywall up with unattached wires going everywhere. He just kept telling me I have to pay for an electrician. By Friday the workers were using cell phone lights to work by. Nobody stopped by to check on the workers work or the progress. Nobody talked to me, even though I was raising serious issues in the middle of the week. By Friday I was living in a completely dark house with lights, not switched up. Drywall hanging and damaged from them taking down the walls and still no explanation or timeline on when drywall would go up or how in the world could they drywall around opened unconnected wires. I told Jay that the pictures and story would not look good on a review and he said that he did not care and to go right ahead. Eventually, I talk to the owner of the company. He explained that drywall should never have been included as you cannot drywall around unconnected wires. He also agreed that yes walls should have been checked before buying product. That is non-returnable and did refund me the unused wood, and they took it back, I guess for another project. He also finally on Friday sent the electrician to spend an hour or two tentatively reconnecting wires to be able to have power and lights for the weekend. He also agreed that my Contractor should have been coming in during the week to do the wiring so they could have done the drywall, however, Jay explicitly told me that under no circumstances could I have other vendors like my Contractor here working while they were here which I abide by. This *Now leaves us multiple days behind schedule and trying to juggle other vendors. It's really hard to describe the amount of stress and dysfunction going on in an already chaotic stressful situation. I was refunded for work not done and the materials not used. I was not given a discount for the incredible cluster fluff that this turned into. The lack of communication and refusal to even come out to see what the issues were created an absolute worst case scenario. The workers did a decent job on the work that they did however such a lack of common sense when writing a quote, and severe lack of management and common sense of seeing the issues that were happening and refusing to listen to me or come out and address the issues left this a nightmare. I have spiderwebs of wires everywhere and struggling on a Friday afternoon to try and reset and find drywaller's for next week before the painters are supposed to come. they to charge me to hook up a wire, but didn't offer a refund for the damage that they caused to other drywall areas. Better customer service would have been to do what they did and the small amount that was still owed written off for a decent customer service, the sleepless nights, the thermostat not working, the power not working, having to eat out because there's no way to cook food, no lights in the house at night, ect. read more

Terrible company. Owner dismissive and insulting. Poor communication with workers showing up not knowing what to do and lacking proper equipment/supplies - no dolly at demo to haul appliances so deck damaged, multiple times-no paint, no tool to pull up flooring because salesman told them our existing flooring was vinyl (it was engineered hardwoods) cabinets trimmed out because worker didn't know there were still other cabinets in garage to be installed. We are still waiting on them to fix our brand new exterior door that looks worse than the one we replaced. The paint is peeling off, bubbling and cracking and they painted over latches rendering them inoperable. They also painted over (with a brush and roller) our brand new factory finished cabinets (to hide their installation mistakes) which nullified the manufacturer warranty and they refuse to replace them. They don't match the sheen of the other cabinets and not what we paid for. The floor bottom of sink base was covered with a piece of plywood because they cut holes in the wrong place before cabinet placement was finalized (discussed multiple times with salesman). Workers rinsed supplies and left outside water running for a long period of time over our French drain clogging it. They turned off pilot on water heater and didn't turn it back on over a weekend. Wall cabinets had to be taken down and moved over. Floors covered in glue because they didn't recover floors after cabinets installed. They damaged our deck dragging appliances and told me "it needs to be replaced anyway". And since I posted this review, they are refusing to honor our contract and warranty forcing us to seek legal counsel. Every single item and picture attached is the current state of our property..not "during construction". Our trash drawer cabinet's hardware wasn't attached correctly so that recently broke and not inoperable. When we confronted them about painting over factory finish cabinets, they denied it until we reminded them we have cameras. The pictures are just a small sampling of all issues we had along the way (water leaked all over floors due to pipe not being capped nearly damaging our brand new floors stacked a few feet away), when we dared bring it to their attention, they labeled us difficult. Their salesman makes promises and apparently doesn't relay that to the owner and his workers so it comes across as us "making changes". (ie: not setting island cabinets until we saw them set up in case we wanted to shift them down and "we can touch up the damaged deck"). We recently hired Forsyth Remodeling to finish our basement -- a six-figure project -- and the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. I'm sharing this so others can make an informed decision. Our basement was already framed by the builder, so the contractor came into a blank slate. What we received was sloppy workmanship, poor communication, and an unprofessional attitude from the owner. When the contractor declared the job "finished," the walls had raised areas, dents, uneven drywall, visible seams, peeling paint, crooked trim, and messy caulking. He insisted everything could be fixed in "one day," but it actually took five more days of punch-list work -- and even now, the results are nowhere near the level expected for the amount we paid. The owner was also dismissive and rude throughout the project. Any time we pointed out legitimate issues, he downplayed them, blamed the house, or acted like we were being unreasonable. Pressuring us about final payment while leaving obvious problems unaddressed was the last straw. We're not asking the contractor for more work or compensation -- we simply want to warn others. If you're considering hiring this company, look very closely at their work, their professionalism, and their responsiveness before signing anything.
