I had a pest put a hole in my roof overnight. I woke up to insulation on my roof and a hole the size of a baseball in the roof itself. I was totally happen with my experience w/Alex at Statewide Roofing. After March 2018 hailstorm, my neighbors suggested we get our roofs inspected for damaged by our home insurance companies and to my surprise my roof was found to be warn and home suffered from a lot of minor damage. My insurance company suggested I should get repaired before the minor damages turned into bigger damages. I reached out to Alex and he cane out for an free estimate. Actually, I attempted to search for 3-4 other estimates but, during this search all 4 of the other contractors...pressured me to sign a form/contractor so, that they could deal directly with my insurance company. That seemed odd to me as I am my insurance companies customer so, why would I have someone I don't know communicate & handle my person project for me. So after all my attempts of getting additional quotes which I NEVER received...I felt like the other contractors were shady. After this, I reached back out to Alex who was readily available to start scheduling replacing my roof, window trimming, screens, gutters & additional necessary home repairs. I like that he was professional & didn't pressure me to do additional fixes to maximize his pockets and my insurance claim. I was working with Alex and his brother to fix a section of my gutter and some fascia damages. They were extremely professional and responsive. I have had a leak in my roof for a few months and kept putting off getting it repaired. The first few quotes I got from other roofers seemed very high for a small leak, and my work schedule made it difficult to be home during the day. Finally I resorted to one of those "tell us your problem and we'll get professionals to reach out if they are available to help you" websites. Alex of Statewide was one of the first to reply, and his email stood out from the others - it was clear the he had read my initial write up and was responding directly to me, rather than just pasting in a generic response. A two-person team was able to come out to my place the same day, even though I didn't get home from work until 7:30 p.m. Alex climbed up onto the roof, went into my attic, and presented me with a bunch of photos showing my the problem spots. He pointed out another spot that was likely to start causing problems soon and suggested we fix that, too. The price he quoted to fix both was less than any other roofer had offered for half as much work! He then made by day by asking if I wanted him to fix it right then and there! Less than an hour later, my months-long headache was dealt with, and even with the tip I added on, the cost was less than $200. First this review is long overdue...LOL. I cringed so long in checking for quotes/estimates for roof repairs, because you hear all the scams of companies automatically saying a new roof is needed. Needless to say after the storms last fall, the leak got worse and couldn't put off any longer! I received multiple quotes and pleasantly surprised all companies agreed a new roof wasn't need just roof repair! Thank Goodness!! After receiving multiple quotes for a roof leak which caused staining in my bathroom ceiling, I decided to go with Alex! Unlike the other quotes, Alex included estimate for drywall damage caused by leaking. Alex and his team arrived on time starting with roof repair. All debris was carefully and thoroughly removed. Next they inspected the drywall for damages where the leak stains were visible. Alex stated no drywall damage and it only needed Killz followed by painting! After reading so many great reviews, I decided to give Alex a call and he responded quickly. His price was more than reasonable, and he was patient with me while picking the colors. Now I have a beautiful new roof. Alex's company does more than roofing; I learned he's a general contractor. They made other repairs at home as well. Here is the best part, I had some issues with DirectTV regarding the satellite dish realignment. That's a whole another story. They repaired a leak and replaced some loose shingles. They matched the color of the new shingles perfectly to the old ones so that you cannot detect the repair at all. With all the rain we've had this summer, we had a few leaks pop up in the house we just purchased a couple of months earlier. Some other companies I called wouldn't even be able to come out for an estimate for a week or two. Statewide was able to come out 2 days after I called. Alex inspected my roof. He gave me a quote for the 2 leaks but he also found some other issues with the valleys at the back of my house. He showed me pictures of the leak and damaged wood. I decided to have all the work done as the quoted price seemed fair. He and the crew came out the next day and completed all work (2 leaks and 2 valleys replaced) before the end of the day. I am so happy that I was able to find Statewide roofing in a time of need. The roof of my house started to leak water from the heavy rain and I knew it would not hold up anymore! I've worked with A LOT of contractors since moving into my older home almost two years ago. It got to the point where I was starting to get jaded and it was beginning to affect my being able to enjoy the house. I've learned that a good contractor (like a good auto mechanic) is one in a million. Once you find them, KEEP THEM! They are worth their weight in gold! Thank God I came across Alex and his team. He is one of the few professionals that have everything that I expect. Communication is spectacular. They actually clean up after themselves, they pay attention to detail, and the work is solid. Alex has actually done a few jobs for me. I had some rotten fascia board that needed replacing about 8 months ago. He came in and not only replaced the fascia, but made sure that he attached the proper flashing and shingles to prevent any future issues. 8 months later everything is holding up well. Then, just recently, I had a skylight spring a leak and brought Alex back in. He explained exactly what was happening and what my options were. I also showed him some other roof issues that had cropped up and he was able to walk me through what I was seeing there as well. They were able to schedule me just a few days after the initial consultation and were in and out in just shy of a work day. He took pictures before, during and after the work. He reviewed the images with me and explained their process. I waited a while to write this review because I wanted to get a couple of good downpours on the construction before I made any judgement. Not good service! We wanted a one stop shop for our insurance claim and had received statewide as a suggested contractor from our insurance company. Not worth it! They took a full year to resolve our claim with them. Problems with subcontractors etc. I would definitely not recommend them for dealing with your insurance claims.
