I had my roof shingles replaced by Findlay Roofing and they did a good job with that. Findlay also replaced two attic vent fans at the same time but failed to hook up the fans wiring to electricity. Twice I've contacted Finlay to please return and connect my two exhaust fans electrical wiring to the electrical system with no action from Findlay. The electrical lines are just hanging down loose in the attic and not connected to the exhaust fans Currently I have two unused and useless exhaust fans sitting on my roof that serve as little more than roof decoration. The attic get quite hot in summer weather without fan ventilation but Finlay was promptly paid for the roof job and can neither be bothered nor persuaded to take the time or effort to return to complete the final step to finish an incomplete and unfinished job. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Findlay Roofing was disappointing enough to warrant it. I hired them to repair gutters, replace rotted soffit, and paint the repaired areas. The expectation was clear from the estimate, and I relied on their expertise to properly evaluate the job. While they did complete the gutter work, a large portion of the soffit repair was never done. Only after the project had already started did they inform me that electrical components prevented them from completing parts of the soffit work. This was never mentioned during the estimate process, and it's something that absolutely should have been identified beforehand. To make matters worse, none of the painting that was included in the estimate was completed at all. They offered a small reduction in the final bill, but it was nowhere near proportional to the amount of work left unfinished. The soffit repair and painting were not minor items--they were a meaningful part of the job I agreed to and paid for. Overall, this experience felt misleading and poorly handled. Key issues were missed during the estimate, communication fell short, and I'm now left dealing with incomplete work while still being expected to pay close to the original price. I would strongly caution anyone considering this company to ask very detailed questions, ensure all limitations are identified upfront, and think twice before moving forward. read more

I had them quote my roof replacement and their quote was DOUBLE the next quote that I got from a company with higher customer ratings. They also neglected to tell me that there were class action lawsuits on the early degradation of my existing shingles which THEY HAD INSTALLED and a method for getting warranty compensation from the shingle manufacturer for the early shingle failure. If I could give Findlay Roofing less than one star, I would. The roof on our home was installed by Findlay only three years ago and we're already dealing with leaks, visible buckling, and exposed nails throughout multiple areas. This kind of deterioration in such a short time is completely unacceptable and speaks to either substandard materials, careless workmanship, or both. Upon closer inspection, I found several nails completely exposed to the elements, areas of uneven shingle placement, and what appears to be a rushed or negligent installation. These are not minor cosmetic flaws but rather serious indicators of poor quality control and disregard for long-term performance. We even had Findlay come out to inspect the roof and they quoted the repairs at $6k on a roof that initially costed $8k. From this, their own verdict was that within 3 years, their new roof has already reached the point of requiring substantial repairs. We purchased this home believing the roof would be one less thing to worry about, given its relatively recent installation. Instead, we are now facing costly repairs and water damage. I have documented the issues extensively with photos that clearly show the defects. Homeowners deserve to know that Findlay's workmanship did not hold up even a fraction of the time a properly installed roof should. I would strongly advise anyone considering Findlay Roofing to think twice before trusting them with your home. read more

Findlay scammed me on a job they did 5 years ago. They told me I needed all new pipe boots on the roof, and they charged me for all 6-8 of them, plus install. Several roofers came up there, and told me I got shafted--they said Findlay just simply put a coat a black paint on the old ones, and caulked around them. I'm still dealing with leaks around those pipe boots today. They didn't even do a good job with the caulking. Here is a pic of a leak I have now--I've had 4 of these around different pipe boots. They did a great job installing missing chimney flashing and repairing a hole made by a falling limb. So when my insurance company demanded a brand new roof, I called them. They did a *great* job! Very quick, reasonable price, good work. Cleanup of job site was outstanding. And when they were called back on two minor issues (piece of trim left off weathervane, and box cover on chandelier jarred loose by impact on roof) they came and fixed quickly and without grumbling (the box cover had not been properly attached to begin with, but they fixed it anyway!) I'm the end unit on the right with 2 white trucks. After the salesman admitted to ripping a shingle off my roof and not admitting to damaging my gutter, he quotes me $14,000.00 (with a 10% discount) for roof replacement and $2,200.00 for a chimney cap replacement. He said the average roofing company charges 20K to replace my roof lol. The pic he took of the ripped shingle looks worse than mine (I'm barefoot), is there an app to make shingles look worse than they are? The pic with yellow arrows shows where the ladder damaged my gutter (2 arrows on the right) and the arrow on the left shows the camera. Pics & video of that available. I spoke with manager about the damages who offered a $200 gift certificate, which does not cover the cost of repairs. After more than a month later, no money or gift certificate has been received. He used a drone. flew it all over the house and INCORRECTLY diagnosed the problem Made repairs and still had a leak. they sent someone else out who got on the roof and found the problem. They refused to refund my money from the repair they made to something that wasn't broken. They did fix the ACTUAL problem for free, but is was a much smaller and cheaper issue. I can't speak to their roof replacements but I would not use them for repairs. We called them because we found a small leak while our house was under contract. The estimate was $1800 and included 1 sheet of decking and 6 bundles of shingles. Seemed high but we were out of time. The repair was done and seems to be fine. The crew was there for 45 minutes used no decking and maybe 1 or 2 bundles. Feels like they took advantage of our tight deadline. Fool me once, shame on you. Never again. read more

They are too pricey. Other companies do the same at half the price. The salesman will give his spill for about 45 minutes and finally give you the price which is way too high. They also give you 10% off if you say yes right away. This is a red flag because you should always think about major purchases for at least 24 hours. read more

Findlay Roofing should advertise more for Window installation because I had Findlay Roofing install all new windows in my 14 year old home in December of 2025. The original windows were simply "Builder Grade" windows and were failing. Findlay send out a very knowledgeable representative named Von. Wow was he great! I had spoken with two other companies but I gave Von a deposit on the spot because he assured me that this upgrade to my home was the correct choice and would both improve the appearance, and value of my home for years to come. The installation went perfectly. They were careful, clean, and responsive to my questions. The end product was beautiful. I told them to take a picture of my home to use for their website!. Incredibly my home is much more quiet. I do not hear the delivery trucks speeding by my home. Even EMT sirens were not noticeable. But timing is everything. This has been an incredibly cold series of weeks since installation. My windows are doing the job. Placing my hand against the window I notice that the glass is not cold even though it is below 25 degrees outside! I assume that my heating bill will reflect this change....I highly recommend Findlay Roofing for Windows. read more

BUYER BEWARE! I scheduled roof installation with Findlay to resolve a minor leak, waiting several weeks for the day. The scheduled day was luckily sunny however I was told that their work crew could not make it and so it had to be rescheduled. This was disappointing but not worth a bad review. The next day the work was scheduled, no one showed up so I called them and was told again that the work crew could not come out (also a sunny day). They told me that I had to reschedule on a rainy day. More importantly, they did nothing to resolve the issue or re-arrange crew schedules for my job that had been waiting weeks. Since I had to wait another week to repair the leaky roof, and no resolution from Findlay on their multiple mistakes, I chose to schedule one of their competitors. read more

Their estimate appointments were 10 days out. Other roofers were there within 2-3 days. They insisted that both the homeowner (my daughter) and me (the personally financially responsible be there during the inspection. The appointment was scheduled at 11:00 on a Saturday. All week I kept getting email and text reminders of the Saturday appointment (a good thing). We planned our day around this appointment. At 11:45 on Saturday I called the main Finley number to find out why the estimator was no show. The person who as manning the phones was very nice, but had no answers. I asked to have a supervisor call me on Monday to discuss the matter since there was no point in shooting the messenger on Saturday. Monday came and went without a call from Finley. In fact the entire week has come and gone with no call from anyone at Finley. I have subsequently decided to go with another highly qualified contractor who had their bid to me with 3 days of my initial call. Dave Baker may recommend Finley, but I sure don't. read more

I have had great success with Findlay on several roof and roof repairs in the past. Recommended them to a lot of my friends so it made sense to call them when we had a few minor leaks on a 15 year old roof over a 45 year old RENTAL house. I was taken aback at their insistence that all owners of the house be present for a middle of the day "free" inspection that was to take 1.5 hours. That sounded very odd and reminded me of high pressure sales tactics. Also, are they focusing on retired people? I still work. Eventually they agreed to send someone out with only one of us present. Nice, well spoken young man came out and spent a lot of time in the attic, took drone photos but never went on the roof as far as I could tell. THEN... he informed me that the underlayment was so rotten that he could not even possibly allow their folks on the roof for a repair and said we needed a new roof for $18,000. He would take 10% off only if we made the decision today. He was well trained for a high pressure sales pitch with nice graphics etc and was shocked when I questioned his conclusions. I think he sells ALOT of new roofs. He had pictures of the plywood in the attic that is under the shingles showing water stains and dark spots. Each of those places he asserted was rotten. I was not convinced since water stains could have come at anytime and do not necessarily mean the wood structure is gone. I declined to authorize the roof replacement. I call Adam and Sons who I have also worked with and they came out and said the roof had another 5 to 8 years and they could not detect any soft spots on the roof at all. $500.00 to replace the vent boots. Bottom line is that I think something has changed at Findlay and in my opinion, they cannot be trusted to give you a fair evaluation. At this point, I cannot recommend them and I do not trust them. read more

The good news is the roof looks great from the outside. The sad news is from the beginning of the job until the end (and beyond) the main office's lack of responsiveness to my calls was really surprising. The woman in charge of finance was the only person who would return my calls and despite her assurances someone would contact me, it never happened. So, my complaints - 1. I knew there would be "some" nails left behind. I didn't expect to pull a magnet bar through my plantings and yard (even 30' from the house) for 3+ hours, eventually collecting over 300 nails. - 2. After they finished, I went into my attic and saw nails sticking out 3-4 " from the sheething. They shot nails through the 1/2" OSB which they installed over my old 1/2" planking - and then some. I asked one of their inspectors to look at it while he was here for another reason and he shook his head and said it was not right. When I called the office with this information, they gave me some explanation - "we are required to push the nails far enough through to hold tight". Sorry, a nail in the air isn't holding anything. The former roof lasted 25 years and there were no nails showing in the attic. Now I can't use any part of the attic within 10' of the sides because the nails will tear my head open. - 3. 8 months later, I started prepping the fascia where they installed a new section of gutter across the back of my house. They installed the gutter over patches of rotted fascia. Now I have to pay someone to come take down the gutter, install fascia and reinstall the gutter. I'm terribly unimpressed with Findlay. Their work wasn't what I expected and their complete failure to communicate with me is beyond disappointing. You can save a lot of money and get mediocre performance almost anywhere. Not disgruntled.....just expecting very good work and communication when I pay top dollar. read more

So sorry that we contacted Findlay Roofing. The inspector came out and stated that we did not need a new roof but needed some repairs and needed a new chimney cap. Measurements were taken for the chimney cap. The repairs were satisfactorily made to the roof. A chimney cap was brought out twice. The first one was too large and the second one was too small. They took measurements. But they made the cap that was too small fit. Do you believe that! Danielle, the "guard dog" on the emails and telephone, simply stated that the chimney cap that was installed was proper. At no time in the process did anyone state that we could not have the type of chimney cap that we had requested. In fact, communication during the entire process was lacking. Upon the second installation of the chimney cap, the crew just left without a word - was the job completed? Who knew? The crew knew that it was a crappy job and left without a word. With the old chimney cap, we never heard rain through the chimney, now we do. So sorry that we ever got involved with Findlay Roofing! read more

Good Experience. Fast & Professional. Shane came out and walked my roof. He showed me photos of the small area of missing shingles that was causing a leak. I asked a lot of questions to avoid any confusion or surprises. The following week it was fixed while I was home. He showed me the quoted shingles and said they wouldn't match exactly but I could get the more expensive ones that would match better. He said it was not in a visible location so I went with the standard ones. (which actually match pretty well). At my request, he texted me photos of the repair which I'll keep with my house records. I had my roof replaced by this company I had no complaints initially..fast forward several years and my roof has developed stains on one side ( the sunny side of the house) I called Finley and left a message and they called back several days later. I was asked to take some pictures and send them in to them.I was told immediately that this was algae that had developed ( not covered by the warranty)and this wasn't their responsibility. I found this questionable since this was the sunny side of my roof. I requested that they send someone out to go up on the roof and review this with me. When the salesperson for Findlay came by to sell us a new roof, we were told they were different. We were told Mr. Findlay did things different and this was a company that could be trusted. The quote for the work came with discounts if we agreed to do it right then and there which we did. The pricing was well above other contractors but again we thought it would be different. That was the last moment our sales person was helpful, after we signed on the bottom line, useless doesnt begin to describe the salesperson. The day of installation resulted in some landscape lights, planters and other items being damaged. A note, please document that with the people doing the work, dont assume it will be documented otherwise. Secondly they put holes through the siding on the house and still to this day didn't provide pictures of everything done. Bottom line, I am sure there are worse roofers out there, but they didn't promise to be different. Shop around and please make sure things are documented, because after the sale Findlay is no different. read more

I was choosing between Findlay and a few other roofers in the area. Findaly won out because of their initial professionalism and customer support. On the day of the job, the crew was here promptly at the start of the day. They arrived in a single unmarked white van (no company markings or anything). There were also no people on the crew that spoke English enough to ask questions. I was told that there would be someone onsite to make sure everything was taken care of, which was misleading. The crew worked through the day and got the roof completed just before sundown. They packed up and left without much communication aside from "we're done". The roof job appears to have been done well as far as I can tell, given that I haven't gone up there to check for myself. The next day I went out and checked around the house. I found a few stray pieces of roofing in the yard, which wasn't a big deal. I did, however, find several nails throughout the yard, on the driveway, and in the gutters. I also found that most of the clips holding my exterior lights to the gutters had been broken off and the lights left hanging. Finally, one of the bulbs from my floodlights was smashed and shards were on the ground. Over the next week, I got 3 automated survey requests from Findlay, but no actual communication from anyone there. I finally filled one out and still haven't heard back in the weeks since. So I've decided to go ahead and post this, having given them adequate time to at least reach out, if not resolve the issues. I appreciated the initial guise of professionalism and customer focus. However, the way that the job was done and the lack of contact or follow up from the company has made me regret the decision to go with them. I was paralyzed in selecting a roofer because so many of the larger roofers had horror stories in the reviews. I wanted a company that was big enough and around long enough to be around to fix things if I got a leak, yet still was highly responsive and took pride in delivering what they promised. Findlay delivered all that and more. After reading reviews for weeks, I had a list of 5 roofers that had A+ BBB ratings, and had been around for 9-34 years. According to the BBB, Findlay was founded, and has been accredited, since 2/9/1999. All 5 companies had good reviews and all looked at the job and gave me quotes. Alex, the sales rep, couldn't have been more responsive, but also never gave me any pressure. He answered all questions, and worked within the insurance settlement terms. What really put them over the top is that Findlay is a rare Platinum-level installer with Owens Corning. That means that, if you use the required O.C. components (and you would if you were replacing the entire roof), then not only do you get a 50-year no-leak warranty from Findlay, but you get the Platinum Protection lifetime warranty backed by Owens Corning themselves. In rough terms, after the first 2 years, if Findlay doesn't make it right, O.C. will. Many warranties start pro-rating their coverage immediately; but this warranty doesn't start to pro-rate the shingles for 50 years, and the labor for 25. That's tremendous peace of mind. The rest was execution: I have a big roof, and they brought in a big crew that did the whole job in a day, and left the yard immaculate. When I later looked at the work, I had been concerned that they hadn't step-flashed along the walls. They brought in a quality control person the next day to examine the job and fix anything that wasn't done right. Not only did he find that the crew had flashed under the stucco (even better than step-flashing), but he took photos of the flashing along all walls and the chimney, and the new plumbing boots - all things I couldn't check from the ground. Their accounts receivable people couldn't have been more accommodating, and allowed me to pay online with a credit card, for no fee. read more
