Academy Roofing replaced our roof and installed gutter helmets. Bailey was here from day one and stayed with the crew the entire day (6:00 am to 6:00 pm). The crew was polite, efficient and we could tell they knew what they were doing. All debris was cleared and they even rolled the surrounding area with a magnetic rake to remove nails and screws from the yard. They replaced our chimney pan and make repairs to the chimney frame. I was seeking out a roofing company to replace my roof, and calling different companies, I dealt with: 1) No responses to my calls; 2) No call back, but days later they drop off their flyers at my door; 3) One company came out, inspected, and said they'd have an estimate by Monday. They call back a few days after Monday with no estimate, but a speech about what I already know about how awful Atlas chalet shingles are. Then they promised to email me the estimate within a week. A month goes by, and still no response. After reading reviews about Academy Roofing on Yelp, I decided to reach out. They responded quickly, and were able to come out to provide an estimate in a timely manner. Scott came out, inspected, and wrote up the estimate (the last company I tried to use were trying to send me on a wild odyssey before providing an estimate to me). They were ready to get started on the project as early as the following week. Once I decided on a date, they got to work. The crew arrived on time, and did an excellent job. The only issue that I had was that a baluster on an exterior balcony was knocked off. They rectified the issue by deducting the potential cost to replace it off of the total bill. Academy Roofing was the contractor provided by our home warranty company, in response to a roof leak claim. They responded within a day of filing our claim and had an estimator, Scott, at our house in just a couple days. He showed up at exactly the promised time. Within the following week, repair crew was onsite to repair and replace shingles, flashing and boots around vent pipes that were leak issues. They also replaced siding that was crumbling adjacent to fixed roof leak, on a following visit. Academy had to deal with rainy days, siding that was no longer available and matching siding paint. The quality of work was excellent, and people involved were exceedingly pleasant. I would highly recommend Academy Roofing. read more

This is not a reputable company in my experience. I had work done on our chimney and brought in Academy roofing to re-do the roof and flashing after the chimney repair. Shortly after the repair my wife noticed a leak below where the work was done. then after the snow we had recently a large leak formed. They installed the wrong materials for the job according to two other roofers that I spoke with to repair the leaking roof that they caused. They used rolled roofing on the cricket instead of shingles to save money I guess?!? I gave them the opportunity to admit to the hack job and perform the required repairs. They chose to quote me $1500 MORE for general roof maintenance like blowing out the gutters, caulking nail heads, not admitting their initial failure and perfectly content with charging me for more work while not addressing the obvious cause of the leak. I'm not a negative review writer and tried to speak with the owner or someone in charge, but was blown off so. Hopefully this helps the next person! I'm obviously not going to give these scammers any more money and would highly recommend that you do the same. Update - when they called, I told them that I didn't understand why they had a chat feature that basically took a message, I was rudely told it was a service and not their company. We just got some work done on our gutters by another company and in doing so they messed around with the roof tiles. We have had the most incredibly frustrating experience with Academy Roofing. We called to schedule an appointment for a quote/repair after a tree branch knocked off a few shingles on the roof of our new house. The appointment window came and went and we heard nothing from the technician. We called the office and a man said a woman that worked in the office quit, leaving them "in the lurch." We were understanding and decided to reschedule. He came out to give us a quote. Then my husband emailed with him back and forth for TWO WEEKS to try to get him to come out for the actual repair. They finally landed on a day, which of course it rained. He did call me to say he'd be by the next day due to the rain. But then surprise, surprise (!) he didn't show!!!!! And we haven't heard from him since. We're taking our business elsewhere. read more

Chris and his partner were the initial consultants but I had someone do the actual work. At the consult, they were very helpful and gave a lot of advice which I appreciated. Afterward, they allowed me time to review my options without blowing up my phone. I followed up with my questions based on the agreement provided and Chris was very quick to respond. I decided to go with them as they had the best price, were not pushy in their communication, and answered my follow up questions clearly. We were able to schedule the work earlier than originally communicated. The work was done quickly and looked good. I would have liked the after pictures sent to me but I did see it after the work was completed. It looked well done. Academy Roofing installed my roof years ago, and I was very pleased. Unfortunately, when I have gone back to them for repairs, I have been disappointed. Both times I have used them have involved call backs and less than professional service. I have paid a premium price and have not received the quality service that I paid for. Response to manager's comments below: 1. I supplied the shingles, not Academy. 2. I did not ask to have a whole box of gutter grates installed. I only had 4 to begin with, and offered them if any needed replacement during cleaning. The other company that has cleaned my gutters has had no problem with this. OP 3. My main complaint was that the tech never even tested the replacement roof fan to see if it was working. I also asked about the mfg paperwork that came with the fan, which he did not have. After, the tech left, I discovered that the fan was not working, and that the paperwork was still attached to the inside of the fan hood. This is what was creating the noise problem. It was not your tech that "diagnosed" it in the f/u call. Dealing with these issues resulted in 4 unnecessary trips to my attic, and subsequently substantial pain in my bad knee. Also, a waste of my time for a 2nd call that would not have been necessary if the tech had simply verified that the unit was working prior to departure. 4.Also, my previous repair job with Academy resulted in two call backs to get resolved. 4. Finally, if it is known that a customer is unhappy, I would expect the business to reach out as a follow up rather telling the customer that "he can call in if he wants to discuss the problem." I would certainly still be receptive to a call. You have my number. read more

Called for an estimate to replace only 1 ridge cap shingle which came off during a windy storm. Total waste of time. Estimate came back at well over $300 for 1 shingle. We realize that roof is 14 years old and will need replacing soon not that we've had any issues. However, with what Academy wants for a 20 minute job with the cost of 1 shingle, we most definitely will be calling elsewhere. So glad we saw the true colors of this local business. I have found someone reputable to repair our roof for less than half of what Academy wanted to gouge us at and I'm very happy with who we've found. My recommendation is to acquire more than estimate if you chose to call Academy Roofing. read more

Academy roofing came out in 2009 to put my roof on. They did a great job. I recently had a leak ,9 years later.. The company had changed ownership but still kept it in the family. The general manager Scott came out to assess my leaking situation. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and took care of me and explained what he was doing. Academy roofing is a very honest and affordable roofing company. I will definitely continue to do business with them and would recommend them to anybody that needs the roof repaired or replaced. In 2009 I had a new roof installed on a very modest home in Alpharetta, GA. The sales pitch was very good and inviting, with a 25 year warranty. Since then I had two leak repairs, the most recent one was on 4/15/22, on a fix income. Today I discovered another leak and I am waiting for a return call. My car is 18 years old and I have less problem with it than with my roof. Sincerely, I don't know if I can recommend Academy Roofing.
