I worked with Shane in the field and Bailey in the office. Very responsive and communicative. I had my roof and gutters done. Both crews were very professional, showed up early, tolerated my questions and pictures and did an amazing job cleaning up. Highly recommend this company. My house looks amazing. read more

In 2009 I had a new roof installed on a very modest home in Alpharetta, GA. The sales pitch was very good and inviting, with a 25 year warranty. Since then I had two leak repairs, the most recent one was on 4/15/22, on a fix income. Today I discovered another leak and I am waiting for a return call. My car is 18 years old and I have less problem with it than with my roof. Sincerely, I don't know if I can recommend Academy Roofing. Incidentally, I called on the option 9 for emergency. their office hours are 8 - 5,I am still waiting for someone to call me back from the emergency option 9 and it is now 8:10 a.m. read more

Delivered on time and very professional. Ryan was super helpful, suggested the right shingles for our home, and did everything within our budget. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We chose them because they are experienced, didn't apply any high-pressure tactics like some of the other guys, and really educated us through the process. We chose the architectural shingles in a charcoal/black tone, and we're glad we did! Even on a dreary Fall day, you can see they are a great compliment to our brick and siding. read more

Academy Roofing - Delivered on time and very professional. Ryan was super helpful... This is the image I referenced in my review...! - Roofing Near Me - Acworth, Georgia

Have used Academy Roofing for roof repairs at our home and our business. They are friendly, responsive, reasonable, and don't try to sell you something you don't need. I highly recommend them! read more

They sent a well spoken representative that stressed the importance of having someone to speak on your behalf when dealing with the insurance adjuster. I set up an appointment with the insurance adjuster and Ryan said he would be there. He did not show. I called to see if he was on his way and left a message, no reply. I called again the next day wondering if there was good reason for the situation and left another message, no reply. I never heard from him again. A few weeks later I called the company office to let them know what happened. They were apologetic, which earned them the two stars, but I moved on. read more

Hands down there is no better company for either roof repair or full reroofing. The work is solid, top notch and most of all reliable. They work well with insurance companies and have a seasoned knowledge of how they can best work with you and your appraisers. They will inspect your roof and estimate the work for free then will sit down and thoroughly explain your roofs past present and future in understandable detail. We had Ryan who was very considerate of our needs and took the very best care of us. They were out to do the job in under a week after the estimates. Our roof is gorgeous. And they clean up after themselves very well. I would use them again and come highly recommended by us. read more

Scott (GM) just stopped by my house for a quote. He was very informative and honest with his assessment. He also told me how many years I have left on my roof, which is good to know. He let me know that my roof wasn't done right in a small area that he looked at, but I could just fix it with caulk. Another roofing company gave me a different story and wanted to charge me for a bunch of stuff, so I'm glad Scott came out let me know the truth about the roof. read more

Companies that do the right thing set themselves above the rest! I had some problems with scheduling, but Academy Roofing made it right. New gutter looks great! read more

I was very pleased with Academy Roofing. I had a small leak in my roof that needed repairing. Given the age of my place, I was sure that my roof was finally giving out on me. Luckily, it was relatively minor repair. Thomas came out and took a look at where the leak was coming from in the attic and knew immediately what had caused it. He finished the job in less than half an hour. By the way, I found these guys on Yelp. This is the second repair service I've found through Yelp and it was another great success - who needs Angie's List when you can use Yelp for free? read more

We continue to be extremely impressed with Academy Roofing. We noticed a leaking roof two days before we were leaving town to get married and go on our honeymoon. Academy came out right away and had everything sealed up before we left town. A couple of weeks later after a torrential downpour, we noticed some more water coming into our attic- not a lot, but still worth mentioning (we still have the original roof on our house, built in 2004). Academy promptly came out to take a look and get it all squared away. They were extremely apologetic at having to come out a second time, which we appreciated. Hopefully we won't have any more issues with our roof, but if we do, I know Academy will be there for us. read more

I had a small leak in my roof. I called Academy Roofing and they came out in a couple days. Scott was on time and very professional. After viewing the ceiling stains, he went in the attic and located the source of the leak. He went on the roof and checked it out. He found a buildup of debris that was blocking the water flow. He cleaned out the debris and fixed the problem. Didn't try to up-sell me or charge a fee. I will definitely call them any time I have any roofing issues. Honest and reliable. read more

Not easy to work with; technicians can't take payment at time of service. Roofing report was not professional. Gutter guards we not professionally installed - they did come back and complete the job. Adequate but certainly not to the quality standards of other companies. I do not recommend and I will not work with them again on our roof replacement. read more

The owner of Academy Roofing reached out to me after reading my most recent review. I really like the way he cared enough about his customers to follow-up so, I decided to give the company another try. Today, the repair manager came out to give me a quote on fixing a leak. He arrived on time and I found him to be very courteous and professional. After inspecting the roof, the manager explained the roof damage (along with pictures). Great customer service is why I chose Academy Roofing in the first place. read more

I don't post too many reviews but Academy Roofing needs special mention. They came out right away (I had a leak), they met with my insurance adjuster, arranged to have my roof replaced (hail and wind damage), and had the roof replaced with a few days! They accepted my deductible and insurance as full payment. They were very easy to work with, timely, efficient, left NO trash in the yard, ALWAYS answered the phone, and GAVE ME A GREAT PRICE!! They have integrity in an industry that's known for being somewhat fast and loose. They don't just do small home jobs, they also do very large jobs so you know they have experience and can handle your job too. Thank you Academy Roofing!! read more

Excellent experience with Shane! Very knowledgeable, professional, and understands how to get to the root of the leak. He used quality materials in the repair, and showed me the difference so that I knew what I was paying for. Will definitely have more work for Shane in the future! read more

Honest and trustworthy company! They were very professional and you could tell they care about their clients. Another company was taking advantage of me, Academy was honest with what I needed and saved me a lot of money. They were very responsive to my first request and sent someone out the next day for an estimate. They scheduled the repair and kept me informed of the progress. The repair took place quickly and economically. WAhen I replace the entire roof I will definitely go with Academy. It was a pleasure to work with them! read more

Gave Academy a called due to a leaky gutter. He came out and saw something and fixed it. Just had to bend something back and he didn't even charge us! WTH!? Who does that anymore? Unbelievable. Great guy too, nice, personal and even gave us pointers on some items that he saw elsewhere on the house (not the roof) that we didn't even call on before that my become bigger issues. So now we can call someone to get those fixed before they are major issues. Great experience and we will definitely use this company in the future for any roofing needs!! read more

I am in awe of the roof replacement and the clean up! The work performed was perfect. I expected no less. The clean up was, if possible, even better. Four years ago they inspected the roof prior to my purchase of the house. As a result of the inspection, I had the recommended work completed. When the leftover Hurricane came though, the time for replacement arrived. It was done on time, as scheduled and in accordance with the contract. I recommend without restriction. read more

Last year, Academy came out to repair a leak in our roof. Less than a year later, the roof was once again leaking in the same spot. The representative told us that the leak would be fixed at no charge, because the originally work was poorly done. He also stated that the bathroom ceiling would be fixed since they damage was caused by the shoddy work. They came out and fixed the roof, but they never returned to fix the ceiling. We scheduled a time for the ceiling to be repaired, but no one showed up. Both my husband and I have reached out to them on several occasions, to no avail. We will NEVER recommend them to anyone and we will ensure that everyone knows that this company lacks integrity. read more

I had requested over 5 companies that had "gutter cleaning" as their service but I somehow did not get any of them to come out and provide a quote or actual service. Thank goodness Bailey answered my call and scheduled a visit right away! My gutters had not been cleaned in a couple of years (I know...!) and desperately needed servicing. I got an immediate response and quote (based on satellite images), and James came out on a Saturday morning with all the necessary equipment (I've had someone come out without a ladder before, so don't make any assumptions!). He did an AMAZING job! He cleaned up all the debris afterwards, and heavy GA rainstorms do not scare me anymore. I will call Academy over and over again based on this experience - they found a loyal customer through excellent service! Definitely the right way to go. THANK YOU, Academy Roofing! read more

I chose Academy because of company response to negative and positive reviews. Scott P came out and looked at my gutters and roof. He removed a couple of big handfuls of debris from my down spout and give me a rough estimate to replace my gutters. Professional and prompt. In the near future, they will be the company I call for gutter replacement and any roof work. read more

Academy Roofing just completed installing a new roof due to wind damage on my home. It was a pleasant experience working with Tyler who walked me through all the details including: 1) Choosing a product that would be aesthetically pleasing with my existing house colors. 2) Explaining the product, underlayment, and all the workings of the ridge vents and other features. 3) He spent time as I tried to make a decision and never tried to "up-sell" me; no bait and switch tactics, he simply explained the choices and was knowledgeable about the GAF roofing system. 4) He worked within the estimate from the insurance company, my deductible, and scheduled FAST timing of the installation. They were here as promised, on time; the coordinated crew worked all day long and finished in one day and cleaned up the area as if it had never happened! I'm very happy I made the choice of Academy Roofing, and they saved me money, too! read more

Academy roofing took the time to really look at the problem before repairing it. The other 4 companies did not and charged twice as much. While working, took the time to show me the problem and how they were fixing it. In the area of roof repair, they are tops with me. Most companies want to replace your whole roof and then only if it is covered by insurance. It's hard to find a good company let alone a great one. read more

After discovering a roof leak, Ryan from Academy visited and worked closely with me and the insurance adjuster to have my roof replaced and covered under homeowners insurance. He was always available to me throughout the process and called to advise on when he would arrive or if he was running late. Stacy, in the office, was always patient, kind and helpful. The roof was replaced; it looks great and all pertinent documents were sent to me for my records. Academy worked with me and the insurance company and made everything as painless as possible. I highly recommend Academy Roofing. read more

I had a roof repair last May and come to find out Academy did not get to the root of the problem. I spent $625.00 for a about 5 or 6 shingles plus a small bit of flashing. Beware, Academy is about the only company out there that does not offer a repair warranty. Please read the fine print. I have had two other companies come out and stated the problem is not even close to the repairs they made! The problem is under the roof where the gutter meets the area. There is some rotten wood in the corner and that area only needs some screening to protect debris from hiding there and the moisture leaking in . I see why they don't warrant their repairs. The salesman said just give the repair a try and see what happens? Or my other choice was to pay $1495.00 to replace flashing all down a valley; which would have not fixed the true problem. For that matter the repairman did not even see the rotten wood under the eve. Rip offs and was told their roof repairman was the best out there! Well, obviously not because he totally missed the problem !! read more

Academy roofing was recommended to us. We scheduled a consult, and had them replace the roof on our home. We could not be more pleased. Everyone was professional, and customer satisfaction was their top priority. Shane came to inspect my roof and give me a quote. I had allot of questions because the roof looks in good condition until you look close and than its apparent that it was installed very poorly. The manager was prompt in inspecting and providing us with a quote for quality skylights at a fair price. However, the process of getting our skylights installed was disappointing. The first day they were scheduled install was rained out (which of course happens). I was rescheduled for the following week. The rescheduled day came and went. AR was a no call/no show. An email to the company assured me I was on the schedule for the following day. However, they were again a no call/no show. Again, the company was contacted and stated that someone would be out the following day to install the skylights. The next day I received a call from the installer stating he was 20-30 minutes away. About 30 minutes later he called back saying he was too sick to work. After contacting the company yet again, AR said someone would be out the next morning for sure. The same installer called the next day to say he would be arriving soon. When he arrived weather was too poor to work but was forecasted to be perfect later in the day. As it wasn't dire, we agreed for him to be back at 9:00 am on the following Monday. All this was relayed to AR office, and I was told that the manager would be following up by phone or email about my experience. I was never contacted. Monday the installer finally shows up at 10:30, drops his crew off and leaves for another job. They finally finish, but then I noticed the mess they left. A couch where one of the skylights is located was covered in dirt and dry wall dust. There were also dirty handprints left on the painted ceiling where they had reached in while working. The following day, I received a bill that overcharged me by $750/20% (matching an outdated estimate - this was quickly corrected after notifying their office). COVID has strained many industries in the US, leaving many without enough workers and short on supplies. Maybe this is the case at Academy Roofing regarding their installers or if their costumer service has taken a down turn. For their sake, I hope my experience was just a one off. In any case, the lack of effective communication was disappointing and, at times, just plain infuriating. The skylights seem to be correctly installed, but I expect to seek other bids for our future roofing needs. read more

Update- I did not receive the best customer service but I can appreciate Stephen trying to make things right. See below for my original post and his response. ___________________________________________ I received several quotes on my townhouse and decided to go with a professional roofing company (even though they were slightly pricier) vs a general contractor. I regret my decision.... 1. I had to call them twice to get them to come out to do an estimate. Finally, Ryan emailed it out. I didn't get a phone call from him just to chat and talk about our roof, etc. (This should have been my warning that I wasn't about to receive the best customer service) 2. When the job was complete, I received my first and only phone call from Ryan notifying me that there was an additional fee since the roof had 2 layers of shingles. I was aware of the 2nd layer of shingles from the other estimate I received, but I foolishly thought that Ryan had included that in his estimate. I guess he never went up to actually inspect the roof. read more

We had storm damage to our roof and I had two other companies come out for an estimate. At the same time we were getting push back from our insurance company. Long story short, I called Academy Roofing, they came out the same day and completed the work within another week. They were professional and so easy to work with. On top of that when they completed the work the owner saw that some of the necessary work had not been included with the estimate from my insurance company so he put together the supplemental estimate for me with the pictures. I will definitely be using them again. read more

When contractor (Shane) first came to the house, he did not recommend a tarp to cover the gaping hole in the roof for fear the insurance would not cover a new roof. The ceiling of our kitchen had caved in the night before due to the rain and the roof issue. We wanted to prevent further damage as did the insurance company. I also was angered that my husband was pressured to sign a contract upon Shane's first inspection of the roof without discussing with me or placing a tarp. They did come back out later that day to tarp at my insistence.Once roof was replaced, about a month later, the crew left. There were nails through all of our gutters, a cord hanging off the roof on the front of the house, and the fence around our a/c unit had a broken post. They came pretty quickly to repair the fence post but only put 1 slim coat of paint on the post and my mother in law saw them doing it with a towel, not a paint brush. I complained about that along with the other issues via email. I never received any response. The crew just showed up one day with no call. My husband happened to be home. This crew pressured him into paying them to do something around the chimney because it was "at risk" of leaking. Check payable to that guy personally, not the roofing company. They removed the nails from the gutters, the cord from the front, and repainted the fence post. My car ended up with a flat tire due to a roofing nail and my husbands work van had a tire blowout on the highway due to a roofing nail. They continuously tried to upsell the architectural shingles even though our roof would have been 2 toned because they couldn't be used on the front of the house due to the low slope. Overall it was not a pleasant experience. read more

Eddie was very professional. He explained what repairs were needed. He sent pictures as the work progressed, to keep us up to date and cleaned up the area when he finished. Other than a slight scheduling issue, we couldn't have asked for better service. read more

Pretty disappointing.. Had gotten a quote that said clearing the roof of debris would sufficiently fix a leaking problem. Now I spent several hundred dollars on essentially just clearing my roof for nothing as the leaking did not stop and I'm suffering more damages as a result. A hole made by a squirrel on my roof that is causing the real leak was made aware to me only after the roof cleaning was done and paid for. The fact that the damage from the leak has grown in size and will cost more to repair/restore after the roof cleaning is what really upsets me. read more

Shortly after my initial call for a roof leak repair, Academy Roofing sent William to inspect and supply me with an estimate. William took photos and explained the leak to me. He also photographed other problem areas and offered suggestions for repair. The estimate for repairs was reasonable and thorough. William showed up today when promised and did the repairs. Again, he took photos showing the repairs made. William was very professional and helpful. I plan to continue to use Academy for all roof repair issues. read more

Aside some initial confusion setting the appointment (although, it was right after three weeks of heavy rain, so this is probably understandable), I'd give Academy Roofing an A+. They were able to get me scheduled for a reasonable date, William called on the day letting me know he was ahead of schedule and asking if it was alright to show up early. He quickly identified the problem, explained a couple of options (one of which was me fixing it myself), and then fixed the issue within 10 minutes. When he left, he said something along the lines of "We always try to go the extra mile, because we stand behind our work, and we don't want to be called back out." I really appreciate that kind of attitude and commitment to doing a good job. I hope I don't need to call them back any time soon, but if I have more issues with my roof, they'll be the first people I call. read more
