When I first contacted Jennifer at Academy yesterday and told her about a couple pieces of my siding falling off the house, she immediately put me at ease and assured me I was in good and caring hands with her company. I felt as though I was talking to a good friend and that I was not just some anonymous customer. After receiving a cold call from a roofing company a couple of months ago, I got on Yelp to request estimates from a few more companies before making a final decision. I was hesitant to request an estimate from Academy because I expected they would be much more expensive since they are a better-known company, so I was afraid I might be wasting my time (and theirs). Now, I'm so glad I clicked that button! They were able to schedule a later inspection time for me so I didn't have to leave work early, which I appreciated. Communication was great from inspection to completion. Stacy arrived on time and introduced herself before taking photos with her drone to share her findings with me. When she finished, she came inside and reviewed the images with me, took time to educate me with her materials, and provided me with an estimate. I was delighted to find her estimate was not only lower than the other three I had obtained, but I would be getting a higher quality shingle for less than the others! She made me feel comfortable from the start, was never pushy, and provided a concierge feel throughout the entire process - personally overseeing the replacement while I was at work, providing me with updates, and making sure all debris was cleaned up when her crew was finished. I recently had some minor roof leaks that needed to be addressed. Academy sent out Jacob Pierce promptly to talk about my issues and discuss resolutions. Jacob was able to quickly identify the issues and provided and estimate on the spot. After some deliberation we agreed to terms and within a few days the work was complete. Every time I reached out with questions Jacob answered them quickly. After discovering an issue with a particular repair I contacted Jacob. A follow up visit was scheduled next business day. Jacob came to the house and we talked over options for what needed to be done. I insisted we check out the previous work done. Jacob politely recommended against me climbing up on the roof, but I'm pretty hard headed so we went up. I either pulled a muscle and/or cramped when cresting the ladder onto the roof. In addition to the pain I realized we were pretty high up and was concerned of getting down. Jacob managed the situation like a true professional demonstrating step by step instructions of what to do to navigate on to the ladder safely. He even waited by the top of the ladder coaching me and ensuring my safety. We joked about it on the ground. I think I'll rely on the post work pictures next time, I'll leave the roof climbing to Academy. The follow up issue will be addressed soon and at a fair price. Thanks Jacob. read more

Called Academy to come out and give an estimate on a leak repair. Time was for Friday at 5pm. The repairman was there on time and seemed pretty knowledgeable. He got on the roof and found the problem. He then told me he had a few different ideas of how he could repair the leak. Then he told me how he takes pride in his work and how Academy is a good company and that they would take care of the problem. He asked if he could come by on Sunday to test out a type of material. Said he could come out around 11. Well Sunday comes and no show. It was Monday around 5pm when I get a call from him. He said he's just finishing up a job and when he got home he would email me the estimates and call when he sent them so we could go over them. It's now Wednesday and I have not heard from him. This makes me think that this company is unreliable. I understand being busy but to not at least call and say that makes me think I shouldn't use this company at all. Actually, I won't use them. I've dealt with companies like that before and just wrote it off only to end up having a bad experience. Not this time. No thanks Academy Roofing. read more

Academy Roofing is a wonderful company to work with. I used the quotes feature with Yelp to get multiple quotes and Academy was one of the companies that responded. They were the only company that responded timely, did a thorough analysis to give an accurate estimate, and walked us through the charges, warranties, and what the day would look like to have the roof replaced. I worked with Ryan and he was a gem. He made us feel at ease with this big and important investment. I felt were in great hands, weren't being over or undercharged (we got some low quotes and were skeptical of how they could cut costs like that), and that we were going to get a quality roof that we could rely on. They were accomodating with the numerous day changes because of rain and our work schedules at home. On the day of the replacement, the crew was a well-oiled machine and it was impressive to watch. I was even more impressed that there was someone always scouring our yard for debris. I couldn't recommend Academy roofing enough! I asked for quotes from three companies on here looking to have a shed roof done that I had built. It was too tall, and too steep that I felt I could do it safely, even though I thought I had the skill. They replied within (literal) seconds, and were the only one of the three companies who thought my business worth doing. I had an estimate in my head as to what it would be, and they came in right about that number and we agreed to the job. Communication was great throughout, and it was delayed by a day due to rain, but they were fast and good enough to fit me in the next morning before more rain was due. Sure enough, an hour later it started pouring after they left. Shane was at my house a couple hours later to inspect the work. Time of course will tell if it was a competent installation, but I can see no issues with it at all. They used a synthetic vs a felt, and with the materials I used I don't foresee a problem going forward. I'll be calling them again, as I have a few other tasks I have in mind for the roof on my house. Price, service, and communication are top shelf. read more

We have had the most incredible, honest, old fashion and genie professional experience with Academy Roofing Company in Kennesaw, GA 30144 worth sharing with everyone. A roofing company hired by my next-door neighbor to do some repair work to his roof told us there was a major problem with our roof that needs immediate attention, if not address, could be very expensive to us if fallen and hurt someone. We immediately called and scheduled an appointment with Academy Roofing. Their technician Scott went out to survey the property; checked the main roof, including two front doors, overhanging roof and a sleeping porch and found NOTHING wrong with the structure or roof, most importantly, they didn't even charge us anything not even a service call fee, uncharacteristic of most company today who would have capitalize on the situation, financially. After contacting Academy roofing Scott came out to my commercial building and met with me and I felt gave me a knowledgeable and honest assessment of what was causing water intrusion into my building. He was very professional about being on time for our appointment and scheduled and completed the work at the time they had given me which I very much appreciated. This was an unusual situation with my building as it was built in the 1960's and the design made it somewhat conducive to having water intrusion issues during extremely heavy rains. I still had just a small leak after the initial repair and very much appreciated Scott quickly coming out again to do some additional repair work which was done at no additional charge. Bottom line I felt this is a good and honest company to deal with and they will stand behind their completed work which as a consumer is something we all really appreciate! read more

I have to say that Academy Roofing was enthusiastic and helpful in answering our questions throughout the process. We had a minor leak in the roof above our master bedroom but just wanted to make sure it didn't get any worse. I called Academy and they were available to come out for an inspection the next day. I had previously called one of the other roofing companies in Atlanta and they weren't available for 10 days! Joey and Nathan showed up and were able to identify the problem spot from the attic and get onto the roof and had it fixed in just a few minutes. They were both really good guys, both personable and professional. With as rainy as it has been and still looks to be I am glad I got in touch with them to make sure we don't have any, more serious, issues to worry about. I believed they would take good care of my roofing needs. Warren came out to inspect my roof and give me a quote. After inspecting my roof, he explained what he saw and confirmed next steps for moving forward with the installation of my new roof. Ryan Long was very nice and helpful with our roof from start to finish. He helped to point out storm damage of which we were unaware leading us to a bit of help from home owner's insurance. On the day the roof was to be installed, the crew showed up early, got started and did a great job ( looks good and hasn't leaked since two big downpours since!). Crew cleaned everything up except for the tiniest bits, did not destroy our extensive landscaping and were done in one day. The only little hitch we had is they left the dumpster trailer in our driveway blocking our electric gate for the weekend-job done on a Friday-so we couldn't let pets into backyard. We don't blame Academy as they contract with dumpster company. Bad timing! They came for it Monday morning. read more

I called Academy Roofing to look at an ongoing intermittent leak we've been dealing with. We've had several people come out and they never gave a definitive diagnosis. We'd get a lot of "well... we can't really see where the water is coming in but it looks like..." or "It looks like if we just..." Academy Roofing came in and quickly diagnosed the issue as it not even being a roofing issue. It turned out to be a gutter pitch issue for one leak and a grout issue for the other. They didn't even do any work. They could have made something up to try and get the work like everyone else but they decided to be honest and point out the actual issues. I am so impressed with Academy Roofing! They will be my "Go To" roofers from this day forward! I had two other companies come to give estimates, both stated that a new roof was needed. Scott Pierce looked at the situation and said they could repair it, that the roof had five to six more years before replacement would be required. I was quite relieved with not having that financial burden at this time. James Baer was the technician. He was extremely thorough and made sure every area was sealed and secured. He was prepared to remove and replace boards if needed. He replaced every shingle removed for the repairs and repainted the pipes. I am so pleased with this company and highly recommend them to you. I also had frustrating experience with Academy Roofing. On July 7, 2018, I called them to arrange an appointment for an estimator to review the work at our home. Ryan Long came out, took pics and said he would make sure the proper team would be notified and they would contact me for further information. (Ryan's a nice guy.) However, after two weeks nobody contacted me. So, I called the office; the receptionist was very apologetic and said someone would get back to me asap. Well, here it is nearly Labor Day, (August 27, 2018) and no one from Academy Roofing has yet contacted me. Guess they don't need my business. We just had our roof replaced by Academy Roofing. I wanted a really good shingle and talked to Ryan Long on the day he came to my house and did the estimate. I told him I had looked at GAF and he helped me select Timberline series and then we talked about the color and helped me get just the right color. The roofing took place the next day when about 10 people descended on my property removed the old roof installed to new roof and cleaned the site all in one day wood was replaced and roofing felt was installed. Academy replaced our roof in 2007 due to hail storm. Our house is currently under contract to be sold. The inspection had some minor roof issues but the person buying the house wanted a new roof installed said it was the original roof. Called academy roofing they had all my information from the previous install to prove the roof was only 10.5 years old . Immediately sent out Eddie Patricio to assess the roof. Academy Roofing installed my roof 5 years ago. I called because a small leak had develop over my deck. I was greeted very nicely by the front office staff. After taking a few minutes to research my warranty, they explained my options very clearly. It was decided to send a repair tech out to assess the issue and quote a fix. I called up Academy Roofing and their customer service was very easy to work with and I scheduled an appointment in no time. Thomas came out and was very thorough in explaining the situation and how water was making its way into the house.
