We sat outside on the deck, it was quite pleasant, with afternoon live music. The food wasn't great, hamburger uncooked ( ordered medium), I would call it seared. Limited menu. Any truck that makes TEMPEH SLIDERS is fantastically A-OK in my book. When I heard food trucks were catering a wedding I was going to I thought it was a badass idea but didn't anticipate much for the vegetarian/vegan crowd. Fork proved me wrong. Thanks to Fork Catering I had like five or six of those delicious little bastards; tempeh, avocado and a tomato jam (I skipped the mayo). If you don't know, tempeh is a soy product which in my opinion worked amazingly well with the slider concept. Other folks were eating tacos and what not from another truck, or pizza, or whatever, and I can't tell you how many people were asking me "What are THOSE?" I of course replied, "These are MY tempeh sliders, back the fuck off." Maybe I didn't say it exactly like that, but I'm sure they could see it in my eyes. Couple those sliders up with the two amazing side salads Fork had going on and I was set. Fresh, local, and organic produce is their motto and now that I've tasted the goods I wouldn't hesitate to book this truck for any occasion. read more

I was lucky enough to happen upon the innaugural week of Munch Mondays in Santa Rosa where the Fork Catering truck was posted up along with about half a dozen otehr catering/lunch trucks. I ordered the local dungeness crab sanwich and a Guayaki Lemon Elation. The sandwich was perfect. Plenty of fresh crab meat, just enough falvorful dressing (sparing enough to taste the sweet crab), crunchy daikon radish slivers, and some arugla. YUM! Bonus points for serving Guayaki yerba mate! A sidenote on the Munch Monday thing in general: Nice work Santa Rosa! This is a great showcase of some local lunch trucks pushing boundries on your notions of lunchtruck cuisine. Sarah Piccolo and Fork Catering just catered my wedding in Bodega Bay two days ago. THEY WERE TERRIFIC!!! Everything from their friendliness, their wonderful servers, their professionalism and of COURSE the FOOD was excellent! Guests came up to me all night saying how good the food was. They used completely fresh, local ingredients, were super flexible and helpful on choosing a menu, and they had really good ideas about which foods would be in season and would go well together. My hubbs and I had eaten Sarah and Fork's yummy, local, seasonal food from her truck at Kate Wolf Folk festival and at the Santa Rosa Street Fair. Sarah is energetic and positive and an incredible chef! We knew she would be the perfect person to hire to cater our picnic-style outdoor wedding in Occidental. And we were right! She worked with us beforehand to create a delish menu based on our ideas (to have a california-style polenta bar) and embellished with her foodie smarts and what was seasonal. On the day of the wedding, Fork was timely in their arrival and set up a table of amazing drinks for our guests - pomegranate lemonade, cucumber mint water and hibiscus iced tea. Then, they brought out the appetizer spread for after our ceremony: crackers (and gluten-free crackers!), bread, olives, an array of exquisite cheeses, fruit, sliced meats, PB&Js (for the kiddos), nuts, and homemade hummus. For our dinner, we had about 100 guests and had a buffet feast of creamy polenta (as well as a vegan option), organic tomatillo chicken, vegan option of curried chickpeas, baby arugula salad with radish and avocado with a light vinaigrette, fresh basil pesto, a spread of cheeses, braised veggie dish of green beans, zucchini, and carrots, rolls.... She had bought most of the veggies at the farmer's market and all the meat was organic! Sarah was able to work within our budget and accommodate our guest's dietary needs (which were extensive), which we appreciated so much. We got so many complements on the food from all our guests. The band we hired (who plays at a LOT of weddings) kept telling us that they've never had such an amazing wedding feast! And neither have we. TWO THUMBS WAY UP! read more

Workers were great! Coffee and strawberry scone was great ! It wasn't until my burger came out.That things took a negative turn. I was with some folks that said" If your paying for it, you should get what you want". So carried it back to the front counter and set it down. About 12-15 minutes pass. And my had finished eating. I stopped the gentlemen that I spoke to about my over cooked food. I told him that I'm going to go ahead and cancel my food order. Then he begins to tell. That my burger was medium not well . And that my food will be out shortly. My cousin being a chef. Hanging with him and going out to eat a lot with him. I've learned that. When your food isn't the way you ordered it. I visited the Fork Catering truck while at Bottlerock 2013 - AWESOME! I was torn between the crab sandwich and the burger but on the advice of the folks in line in front of me, I got the burger. But not just any burger....it was a grass fed beef burger with cheese, avocado, uncured bacon and a fried egg! Messy to eat but so so good! The gal in front of me told me she'd had one the first day of the festival and it was so good she waited in line for an hour and a half the second day to get another one! Fortunately for me, I got mine on Sunday when there was no one in line. Unfortunately, I got mine on Sunday so I only got to have this awesome burger once - if I had tried it earlier in the festival, I might have waited in line for an hour and a half too! read more

I adore Fork Café! A perfect spot for when I'm eating solo or with a friend. It is small but that adds to the charm for me. I'm not a fan of busy chaotic cafés w/ tons of laptops and lines and people. If you like tranquility and high quality locally sourced/sustainable food (and drink) this is your place! I totally vouch for Fork and would chose no other local place to support as often as I do this one! We had Fork cater our wedding of 110 people this past weekend. It was delicious and a huge hit! We decided to have the taco menu with shortrib, pulled pork, tomatillo chicken, and tomatillo tempeh tacos. Rice and beans too. The food was great and plentiful. The pork was exceptional! There was something for everyone, even the gluten free and vegans were happy! It was so exciting when the truck pulled around the corner after our ceremony. We started with passed appetizers of ceviche on endive and wontons and mushroom bruschetta. Both were delicious. Then after cocktail hour and appetizers, began dinner service. The staff was on point with hot food coming out quickly. Everyone was great and so nice. People loved it and because it was all you can eat for 2 hours everyone got their fill. There was also an exciting table of fixens with guacamole and salsas, cheese, fennel radish slaw, salad, chips, and more. The owner Sarah is very sweet and was really helpful throughout the process. We learned a lot through her experience about how to time things in our wedding and are glad we took her advice! She makes her food with love using quality organic and locally sourced ingredients. We appreciated her flexibility accommodating guests with dietary restrictions. The pricing is very reasonable as well. My mother even loved it and she is serious when it comes to food. Taco truck! What a great idea! I was at a wedding in Healdsburg and the bride and groom had Fork Catering cater the rehearsal dinner at Medlock Ames winery. They offered different meat choices and all the toppings you could imagine. Everything tasted very fresh and you could go back for seconds (which believe me I did). The meat was very tender, the shells were hot, and the arrangement worked out well (people just went up to the truck to order and they had all the side items on a separate table - aka, no waiting for your grub!). Heard the food was fantastic at the Wavy Gravy 79th Birthday Bash at Sonoma Mountain Event Center. Even waited in line for over an hour... we were assured by the blond guy with glasses they had plenty of food, but low and behold, when I was just 8 people from the finish line I noticed one of the gals stressing out inside. I finally went up and asked if they had enough food for the 25 people still in line and she said, 'no we've run out'. I asked why she didn't come out and tell us all this with some anticipation - she said "I'm telling you now". Well thanks lady, that doesn't make me feel any better about wasting my time and walking away hungry. Why didn't they bother to count the tacos they had left and let people know? I understand the venue under booked food vendors but as a business owner, you should be more courteous to the people waiting in line for your product. Booo. Update: received a really nice message from the owner today, who apologized for the wait and explained the situation. I appreciate how considerate she was to write me personally so I've upgraded. I will definitely check out the store front and I wish them luck with that venue if they do decide to return. read more

Sarah and crew catered our wedding last weekend and she absolutely delivered. Our guests were raving about (and enthusiastically eating) the delicious taco feed fare for two days after our celebration. During the planning process Sarah was prompt and professional, and very helpful to offer a variety for our friends and family, and provided valuable suggestions such as adding agua frescas (which were a huge hit) as well as offered table service and clean up for dinner. They were fast, friendly, and kind and relaxed - the kind of folks you'd like to keep as friends. Back to the food, though - it was phenomenal! If you've ever been to a wedding, then you know that 'traditional' catered fare is pretty nasty stuff - something slathered in fatty sauce, overlooked pasta, and iceberg salad. Fork offered a sustainable, local, and fresh meal of tempeh, chicken, pork, beef, and salmon tacos with gourmet accompaniments including grilled scallions and delicious guacamole. My friend & I ordered a grass fed beef sandwich at the Heritage Fair at the Sonoma County Fair Grounds on September 13th from the Fork truck. I don't think I've ever experienced such rude service! I wound not recommend purchasing food from Fork. We noticed that they had served 2 people almost identical sandwiches who had been standing behind us. When I politely brought this to our cashier/server's attention, instead of apologizing, he told us it was because ours was being medium cooked (say what?). Then he proceeded to serve 2 more people who were behind us (for a total of 4). When I again mentioned this he told me "This is not fast food.". "True" I said, "This is rude food!". When I asked for our money back, he hurriedly brought the sandwich. I was too angry to even taste the food...We are older than most of the customers we saw (in our sixties & seventies). "Fail" Catering I am really not one to hop on yelp every time someone doesn't make the grade, But I think the Fork team really earned it. We had the Fork experience @ River town Revival in Petaluma. The first thing I notice is how nonchalant the person taking the orders was. Usually people taking the orders at food trucks are hustling to get the orders to the cooks but there was this pause in between every order while she played on her phone or just ignored you for awhile before she took your order. At this point I was thinking "Meh, no big deal" it has probably been a busy day and she is just over it. Once the order got in that is when the fun began. See the problem with having big windows on your truck is people can see the chaos and disorganization in the kitchen. Confusion on orders, taking old tags of orders that have gone out and comparing them to current tags to try and find things got screwed up, Confusion on who is doing what and just basic madness in the kitchen. I was standing back laughing when I realized the big crowd i was standing in was all staring at the same thing I was. "Holy Smokes" how could a place that only had 3 people ahead of me in line have this many people waiting. I took a step to the right and then I saw it. The epic ticket line above the prep area must have been at least 15 tags deep. At this point my only hope was that the Tempeh Taco's were so epic that they have just been overrun by the masses. I chatted up the person next to me and asked how long they had been waiting. "About twenty minutes" is the reply I got. I am really try not to be "That Guy" but I started running the idea of how I could politely ask for my money back and get some thing else. I decided to stick it out based on the vegetarian options where a little slim and I had already come this far, why turn back now. When I finally got the Taco's they were far from what I had hoped. Tempeh, this bland sauce, an overly fried egg, and a burn onion thing (I think it was a onion). All humor aside, I would avoid this truck at gatherings and think twice about hiring them for large events. read more

I went to Fork expecting a cafe style breakfast. I was so disappointed with the surroundings I left and I can't remember ever doing that before. I can't attest to the food but the cafe is no more than a few very small wooden stools and some 8" strips of wood along a window. It would be impossible to talk to a friend or relax in this situation - too horribly uncomfortable and the day we went there it was cold at 8am and the door was open so any breeze would blow straight up your back. Honestly I was majorly angry that the website didn't mention the seating issues - I drove all the way there, waited till they opened 7 minutes late and then saw where I was supposed to sit, shivered and drove back to Redwood Cafe in Cotati where there was a fire and a seat big enough to sit on comfortably for more that 5 minutes. If you want to do take out... it would be great. I'm sure their catering is all it is said to be. But a nice place for breakfast and coffee - this it is not. And it is no where near being so. read more

Sarah and her team are amazing! We hired Sarah to cater a 20 person, four course, seated dinner for my husband's work associates. We wanted to have a festive holiday dinner and Sarah completely delivered. We waited until about four days prior to the event to finalize the specific menu items as Sarah wants to take full advantage of local harvests to serve the freshest, most in-season produce and meat available. Sarah arrived with her team two hours prior to the event and they worked their magic. They set the table, prepared the dinner, set up the bar, and even managed to throw together dinner for my two young children. Once the guests arrived, her team was there to take coats, serve drinks and pass appetizers. Dinner was incredible, the food delicious and her team warm and attentive. Everyone's glass was always full, and there was plenty of food for seconds (we even had food left over at the end of the night). The ambiance Sarah created made for a perfect dinner - in taste and in spirit. Sarah's prices are fair and very reasonable given the high level of quality and service. She is very easy to work with and laid-back, requiring very little direction and full of great suggestions. At least one customer was short change=d, them blamed for "stepping away" before notifying caterer of error on the part of the cater. My husband and I hired Fork Catering to bring their food truck to a welcome picnic at Sonoma Park the day before our son's wedding. The whole experience was terrific. Everyone raved about the food , especially the beef brisket tacos .I liked the fish taco,the beautiful salad and the pomegranate lemonade. All of the salads and accompaniments for the tacos were delicious and extremely fresh and creative. Sara was so easy to work with and her staff was very friendly and efficient. This review is based on my one visit to Fork for lunch today, but based on this experience there will be many more visits. Fork, the restaurant, is located in a very small space on the side of a house and has a limited daily menu. They serve both lunch and breakfast to eat there or to go. You order at the register and, if you're eating there, they bring your good food out to you. I had the polenta with chicken sausage and a kale salad along with an excellent coffee mocha. The tab was only $14 for meal and drink, but it should be noted it was the most expensive item on the menu. The food was flavorful with just the right sized portion. Seating is limited to stools at bars both inside and on the patio. Sitting on the patio you have a great view of the parade of Priuses (after all this is Sebastopol) driving down Main Street. (My lunch was additionally enjoyable as as this dirty old man met and chatted with a mother from Arkansas who is visiting her grown daughter.) Fork is on my "go to" list and I strongly suggest you try it if you haven't already. (Note: Even though they are listed at "take out", Searching Yelp for Fork Restaurant does not show them.
